The extraordinary Baja California Peninsula in Mexico offers you a luxury travel experience defined by dramatic contrasts, where the captivating desert meets the boundless blue of two oceans. This unique geography makes for a memorable adventure, whether you’re seeking the thrill of deep-sea exploring in the nutrient-rich Sea of Cortez, which is known by many as the ‘aquarium of the world’, or discovering the rugged beauty of its Pacific coastline. From the sophisticated resorts of Los Cabos to the serene beauty of its more remote stretches, Baja California Sur presents a range of experiences to make your visit to Mexico a remarkable one.

The peninsula is a sanctuary for wildlife, and during migration seasons (between December and April), the Pacific lagoons welcome pods of magnificent gray whales, where you can see mothers and calves rolling through the surface. The waters also teem with other vibrant marine life, making it a prime snorkeling and diving spot. Look out for sea lions, manta rays and an array of iridescent fish. On land you’ll find bighorn sheep, coyotes and a myriad of bird species thriving in the desert ecosystems.

Beyond its natural beauty, Baja California Peninsula promises a rich cultural immersion and unique excursions to match. Head north for mouth-watering culinary day trip tours through the wine region of Valle de Guadalupe, savouring farm-to-table delights and world-class wines that reflect the terroir. You might also choose to visit a traditional fishing village, discover the impressive art scene in Todos Santos, wander the cobblestone streets of La Paz or take a boat trip out to the uninhabited Isla Espiritu Santo.

    Highlights

Take a morning cliff walk near Punta Lobos passing an eclectic combination of desert and seascapes
