Having been inspired by my Spanish and French degree to immerse myself in new cultures, I have been lucky enough to live in various locations throughout Europe including Corsica, the French Alps, Valencia and Malaga as well as spending my gap year exploring much of Africa and Central and South America.
My trip began in Mexico before I made my way through Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Peru. Some highlights include spending several days living with various indigenous groups including the Uros people on the floating islands of Lake Titicaca and the Kuna people of the San Blas Islands in Colombia (whose local currency is coconuts!). It was a real bucket-list moment to retrace the steps of the Inca people and complete a five day hike in the Andes before reaching the incredible Machu Picchu.
Of all the places I have visited, Latin America has certainly been the most unforgettable, boasting diverse landscapes, endless, ever-changing terrain and incredible wildlife. Sharing my experiences and introducing people to this continent is something I will never get bored of!
