    Remarkable experiences

What if travel could be as meaningful as it is memorable, creating opportunities to support local communities, protect wildlife and preserve culture?

The experiences in the Positive Impact Collection have been thoughtfully curated in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and in collaboration with our local partners. Designed to deepen your connection to the places you visit, they contribute to the restoration of fragile ecosystems, protection of endangered wildlife or offer the chance to help uplift diverse communities – with a particular focus on historically marginalised groups, including Indigenous people, ethnic minorities and women.

Each of these transformative experiences is rooted in our commitment to positive impact travel and guided by our Positive Impact Principles.

    Transformative journeys

Experiences in the Positive Impact Collection have a strong focus on hands-on activities in reflective and immersive settings, with guided interpretation and expert-led storytelling throughout. Below, you’ll find a small selection.

You could visit a family-run reforestation project in the high-altitude forests of Costa Rica, explore New Zealand’s Bay of Islands with a Māori elder or hike the Pekoe trail in Sri Lanka. Or, if you have a different destination in mind, ask your travel designer for their first-hand expertise.

    Track rhinos in Namibia

Set off on a rare wildlife experience from Wilderness Desert Rhino Camp, joining expert Save the Rhino Trust (SRT) trackers to seek out endangered desert-adapted black rhinos. The rich diversity of wildlife here includes the largest free-ranging population of black rhino in Africa, but you might also spot desert-adapted elephants, Hartmann’s mountain zebras, southern giraffes, gemsbok (oryx) and springbok.

Explore the Bay of Islands with a Māori elder

Join a local Kaumatua (Māori elder) for an exclusive Bay of Islands tour in New Zealand, enriched with personal recollections. Experiences like this play a vital role in preserving Māori oral histories and traditions for generations to come. They also contribute to the care of significant sites like Waitangi, Kerikeri and Russell, while promoting a deeper respect for Indigenous stewardship of the land.

    Visit a family-run reforestation project

Meet the inspiring founders of Bosque Vivo, a family-run reforestation project in Costa Rica‘s high-altitude forests, and join them on an immersive tour to learn about their journey, the vital significance of this delicate ecosystem, and perhaps even contribute to its protection through seed or tree planting.

Sample organic wines in the Médoc

Spend a flavour-filled day exploring the prestigious Médoc wine region in France, visiting organic vineyards and lunching with a private chef at a renowned chateau. You’ll learn about winemaking techniques, discover the profound benefits of a more traditional, environmentally diverse approach to winemaking and sample all-local, organic produce.

    Trip inspiration

You’ll find a selection of experiences in the Positive Impact Collection throughout the sample itineraries below, each indicated by a gold Positive Impact banner, and throughout other example trips across our website.

When you choose to step into the story of a destination – to give back, listen and engage with care – the impact can be lasting. Not just for the communities and ecosystems we aim to support, but for you as a traveller. That’s the power of positive impact travel.

    Selection criteria

The experiences in the Positive Impact Collection have undergone a comprehensive assessment in collaboration with our local partners in Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

Carefully reviewed through the lens of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which tackle global challenges and address issues such as poverty, inequality, climate change and environmental degradation, each experience contributes towards one of these three pillars:

    • Environmental restoration or protection

    • The preservation of cultural heritage or development of economic resilience for vulnerable communities

    • Wildlife conservation

Every journey we craft also reflects a deep commitment to our Positive Impact Principles, the guidelines by which we assess all of our choices and recommendations.

    Everything you need to know

Each experience in the Positive Impact Collection has been carefully chosen not only for the positive contribution it can offer but also for the transformational impact it can add to your trip. Many provide exclusive, behind-the-scenes access, with hands-on activities, expert guidance and rich storytelling giving deeper cultural and environmental insight. Whether you’re planting native species alongside conservationists or learning traditions passed down through generations, these experiences will create memories that remain long after your trip is over.

We work closely with our local partners to track impact metrics, from reforestation numbers and conservation outcomes to income generation for communities and cultural preservation efforts. Each experience in the Positive Impact Collection has been reviewed through the lens of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to tackle global challenges and address issues such as inequality and environmental degradation.

Every journey we plan at Jacada is bespoke, allowing an experience within the Positive Impact Collection to be seamlessly woven into your trip. Your travel designer will ensure every activity you choose complements your trip and enriches your connection to your destination.

Absolutely – many of these experiences are family-friendly and can be tailored to engage travellers of all ages. They’re immersive, hands-on moments that spark curiosity and create lasting memories – the kind children talk about for years to come. Some of our favourite family experiences include building birdhouses for native wildlife or crafting insect hotels for bees and wasps in the Swedish countryside.

Not yet, but we’re thoughtfully expanding the collection all the time. Together with our local partners, we’ve curated experiences across Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America, with more being added regularly. Your travel designer will be able to help you find the experiences that align best with your preferences and interests.
