The most famous site is the architectural wonder of Petra. Dating back to around 300 BC, it’s both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Wonders of the World. The series of tombs and temples carved into the pink sandstone cliffs is simply majestic as it comes into view as you pass through the Al Siq canyon.
Elsewhere, spend time drinking in the stark beauty of Wadi Rum, enjoy the diverse culture of Amman, head to the Dead Sea for activities in and on the water, and get a taste of beach life in Aqaba.

When to Visit
The best time to visit Jordan is during the cooler months: March to May and September to November. During this time you’ll enjoy temperatures between 18°C (64.4°F) and 28°C (82.4°F), which are perfect for sightseeing in Amman, Jeep safaris in Wadi Rum’s desert landscapes and discovering iconic Petra.
