Rich in ancient history and home to some of the world’s most renowned archeological sites

Egypt is truly captivating. The ancient land of pharaohs and pyramids, now home to some of the world’s most impressive archaeological ruins, offers surprises at every turn, from the vast, desolate Sahara to the dynamic and enthralling cities of Cairo and Alexandria. There are opportunities to delve into thousand-year-old Nubian culture in the tranquil riverside city of Aswan, along with the chance to learn about the experiences of modern-day Egyptians with journalists and cultural commentators.

Egypt’s standout cuisine guarantees truly delicious foodie experiences, whether trying local delicacies or learning how to cook them yourself. The winding Nile river holds a special significance with some of the country’s most important archeological discoveries found on its banks. Traditional wooden feluccas bob close to the shoreline, while larger cruisers meander the deeper waters, serving guests memorable meals alfresco aside swimming pools twinkling on the top deck.

Of all of Egypt’s highlights, it’s perhaps the incredible ancient structures and fascinating history that are the most impressive. The great Pyramids of Giza rise unbelievably out of the sand, and across Egypt hundreds of temples and tombs feature intricate hieroglyphics, towering obelisks and massive statues.

Learn about the power and importance of the revered ancient noble dynasties during a visit to the 62 tombs and chambers within the Valley of the Kings. Or head to Karnak temple for the stories of 30 kings who took part in its 1500-year construction. The list of impressive, yet thoroughly individual, sites is long. In the south, ancient history gives way to the tranquil waters of the Red Sea, where some of the World’s best snorkelling and diving can be found.
