Luxury safaris to see the wonder of the world's birdlife
Our luxury birding safaris immerse you in the world’s most spectacular avian landscapes. Expert guides will lead you to the remote reaches of Indonesia to spot birds-of-paradise. You can climb high into the Himalayas to observe black-necked cranes in Bhutan and navigate the wetlands of Uganda to witness the prehistoric-looking shoebill.
In the Arctic summer (June to August), witness the frenetic energy of millions of migratory birds. Join an expedition cruise in Norway to spot ivory gulls and snowy owls. Or take a private speedboat in Iceland to see the spectacle of Atlantic puffins nesting by the millions on soaring coastal cliffs.
Known as the ‘birding continent,’ South America hosts a third of the world’s bird species with many birdwatching experiences to enjoy. In the cloud forests of Colombia’s Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, from the veranda of your remote private villa, you can observe the iridescent flash of hummingbirds and the rare black-and-gold tanager.
The distinctive biodiversity of New Zealand is perfect for birdwatching safaris with more than 80 endemic species to find. Hike the shores of Lake Wanaka where the tui, with its iridescent blue and green plumage and complex song, flits between branches. Learn about conservation and evolution at the National Kiwi Hatchery in Rotorua.
Your journey is curated by our dedicated travel designers, who partner with passionate local naturalists. Using their deep-rooted expertise, we design a birding safari that is as seamless as it is unforgettable.

Discover moreWhen to visit
The best time for birdwatching depends on the species you would like to see. In Southern Africa, birdlife is at its most abundant from May to October.
Latin America is a year-round destination. However, the southern tip of the continent is best from October to March, when migratory birds are most abundant. In Colombia and the Amazon, bird activity is most intense when the rains arrive from January to May. And in Costa Rica visit during the green season, especially from May to November.
When travelling to New Zealand, we recommend visiting between March and May, a time when migratory birds gather along the coast and around the country’s wetlands and estuaries.
