Me and my wife could not have ask for a better honeymoon trip! Anna, took very good care of us. I only gave her a 3 day notice on planning our trip and she did not disappoint!
Typically we book our trip ourselves, but this trip we decided to book with an agency as we were going to lots of different places in Asia. We spoke with Rachel who planned our trip with us after a long conversation with my husband about our interests and things we wanted to see and do. The itinerary presented was well put together and everything went smoothly throughout our trip. It was nice to have someone else do the planning. Rachel got back to us in a timely manner if we had questions and always followed up with a call despite the time difference as we are in Canada. I would definitely use Jacada again. We enjoyed the privacy of the trip and all the details they presented. This was definitely a once in a life time trip!
Our family of 5 adults met in Guayaquil, coming from three different cities across the USA. All transports from the airport to the hotel Hilton Colon were arranged and made easy for us. Jen arranged a city tour for the next day, which was the perfect introduction to the area and the right amount of time. We departed for the Galapagos the day after. The Eclipse was our floating home, with about 35 fellow passengers for the next week. We explored 10-12 islands, saw countless endemic birds, sea lions, iguanas, tortoises and even a penguin or two. We could not have been more pleased with our naturalists, the food and the superior quality of service we enjoyed on the Eclipse. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that there would be a separate group of people, who had booked through another company (Abercrombie and Kent), who then had the advantage of a concierge who accompanied them, set up their beverages (wine) and signed them up for excursions before the rest of the passengers had a chance to do so. In such a small group, this felt like an unfair advantage. Guess you get what you pay for. Being surprised by this once onboard, while annoying, did not ruin our vacation. Our return to Guayaquil was as easy as our coming, and we were back at the Hilton Colon in time for their New Year’s Eve party to end all parties (extra charge for that). Incredible food, decorations, music and service. Viva la vida local!
Jacada was wonderful to work with. After we booked the trip we considered changing the dates. Rachel created another itinerary for us and was quite patient while we decided what to do. During the trip they checked in with us to make sure the car, driver and hotel was working out and they called to let us know that one of our flights would be delayed. I have no problem recommending them to friends and I look forward to traveling with them again.
We had a wonderful trip planned through Jacada. We enjoyed the venues and the excursions. This is a beautiful place we’d recommend to anyone who wants to go on a new adventure.
Jacada Travel was totally unknown to me when I called them for general information on our trip. They were totally knowledgeable and offered many suggestions for improving our experience. They were always readily available to answer any questions and handle any issues. The end result was a fabulous trip that we never could have imagined.
Always knowledgeable about hotels, excursions, etc., amazingly efficient and attentive to detail, and dedicated to creating a one-of-a-kind travel experience. Top-notch!
I have taken two trips now that have been coordinated by Jacada and both were amazing. The services were very professional and the travel consultants were always available to answer questions or make adjustments to our plans. The providers they select in country are top notch. I would not hesitate to recommend their services. They really make travel planning stress free!
We have used Jacada 3 years in a row for Christmas holiday travel both in South America and the Iberian peninsula, and each time they have organized a memorable and hassle free vacation experience. We have recommended them to our friends and are happy to do so by this review in a more global way.
I came across Jacada travel researching a trip to Galapagos Islands and after speaking with a consultant over the phone, they prepared an itinerary suggestion for our trip. From this point on, it really was the attention to detail that set Jacada apart. Rather than a simple itinerary, we were sent a link to a personal website that had our itinerary set up, with photos of the places we’d stay, the things we’d see. It was easy to tweak the itinerary to adjust for our preferences, and the price was competitive with booking each component of the trip myself, without any of the hassle. When we arrived in Ecuador, we were greeted at the airport and transferred to our hotel. The next day, the same guide and driver picked us up at the hotel and took us on a half day city tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, and was greeted with hugs and kisses at every site we visited – it felt very much like we were on a VIP tour. At every hotel, there was a hand written note from Jacada, personally addressed and wishing us a pleasant stay. My only criticism is that you can’t book bits and pieces through Jacada – it was an all or nothing service. We’d booked accommodation in Mendoza separately and I would have loved to have Jacada organise our local tours whilst we were in the area, but on inquiry, that wasn’t an option, which was disappointing. I can understand why they wouldn’t want to solely arrange tours as a service, but given we’d spent a considerable amount with Jacada on the Galapogas itinerary, I would have expected them to extend the same level of service to the rest of our itinerary, irrespective of whether the accommodation was booked through Jacada or not. Having said that, we are planning our next vacation and I will definitely see what Jacada can offer for our trip to Europe.
Two weeks in Japan – our second trip with Jacada. Great advice on where to go, what to do, where to stay. Lots of ideas and experiences we just wouldn’t have found on our own. Terrific organisation and logistics on the ground. Really outstanding service and can’t wait for our next trip!
I chose Jacada virtually sight unseen–simply by plugging in “luxury safari in South Africa” last February. Several company names came up and I began corresponding with two. Quickly, Tessa at Jacada stood out because she immediately grasped what our family was looking for and what we needed and understood the parts of the tour that I didn’t even know how to ask questions about. She created a luxury tour with lodges, hotels, private tour guides and transportation that was literally seamless. While we were too late to get into the lodges we thought we wanted, Tessa found us lodges that were easily comparable or better. We were so pleased with all that she did to make sure we felt comortable, confident, and so happy on our 12-day family trip.
Every aspect of our trip was well arranged. Every person we encountered on this trip was pleasant and willing to go the extra mile to make our stay memorable. Chile is a beautiful country, inhabited by very friendly people. Lily did a great job working on the nuances of our itinerary, which needless to say worked perfect.
Jen Richt planned a wonderful trip for us to Chile and was responsive, attentive, and thorough. We would highly recommend her
Absolutely incredible! Makes me kick myself for not using Jacada or a travel agent before. Every detail was taken care of, making it incredibly relaxing for my son and me. Jen was very attentive and the special little personal gifts made the trip extra special. International travel can be stressful, especially with children, but private pick-up at the airport and guides handling all the little details is worth gold. This really is a first-rate personal travel service. Thank you Jacada!
I’ve traveled to Ecuador and Myanmar with Jacada Travel and let’s just say you can count me in as a repeat Jacada Traveler. Everything was planned out in detail for us, custom tailored to our needs and interests, so that we didn’t have to worry or think much other than to just relax and sight-see during our trips. The transition from one city to another was seamless, with local tour guides handing us off to the next tour guide and making sure we checked in at each airport smoothly. I won’t spoil all the wonderful things we received during our travels with Jacada, but just know that traveling with them exceeded our expectations.
Jacada was very helpful in planning and taking care of our first trip to Iceland. We didn’t know what to expect from this country so it was great that they were very informative from the beginning. They even made sure we felt at home by having our local snacks at the hotel when we arrived. Our accommodations and our guides at Iceland were also excellent. Definitely would use Jacada again in the future!
Incredibly trustworthy travel agency that is a one stop shop for the trip of your dreams.
First time visiting Peru and I got really sick getting over there – probably food poisoning from something I ate before I left US. Jacada and their guides were with us every step of the way, getting me the medical attention that I needed and they were all so caring and flexible. With their help and the help from the local hospital, I was able to recover fully in 2 days and resume our trip – even climbing up to Wayna Pichu afterwards!! Thank you Jacada, Lily, Susanne and our local guides Nilo, James, Daniel, Marisol for the most fabulous 25th anniversary trip!!
Jacada took the time to ascertain our priorities when it came to designing a package for our trip to Ecuador and the Galapogos Islands. Everything went off without a hitch. The guides were excellent and their choice of accommodations was first-rate.
Out trip to South Africa was fantastic. They listened to what we wanted and designed the trip that matched to those wishes. Everything went smoothly to the trip. From meeting us at the gate in the airport, the hotel choices, the restaurant choices, everything went very well. I highly recommend them.
Jacada handled all of our in-country travel for a recent trip to Vietnam, from hotels to guides. The people at Jacada listened well to our desires and then organized a wonderful tour that exceeded our expectations in every way. A great company to work with and our personal contact, Kate, was excellent.
From the very start of my experience with Jacada while researching a trip to Iceland, I was impressed with the prompt, courteous and professional service I received. My travel expert, Melania, was extremely personable and treated all of my inquiries and requests with professional poise and knowledge. She was exceptionally prompt in all replies and quickly put all my concerns aside. The trip she put together for me was perfect and matched my vision exactly. I wouldn’t have changed anything! Without a doubt, I would highly recommend Jacada to anyone for booking high-quality, luxury travel in the future. ~John
Lily at Jacada Travel did a wonderful job planning our trip to Peru and Galapagos.
Every aspect of the travel experience was right on and taken care of from recommendations of sites and length of stay to printed boarding passes at our departure. Selection of hotels and restaurants choices were perfect. Hiking was as advertised, spectacular and tough, but doable thanks to the excellent guide.
I would highly recommend Jacada travel to anyone looking for an unforgettable trip. We worked with Rachel- and she was highly organized and efficient throughout every step of the process. I normally enjoy planning my own trips, but with wedding planning I was just too overwhelmed. I reached out to Rachel (she had planned a friend’s honeymoon) and within 4 days she had our whole trip planned! She was very responsive to emails and incredibly easy to communicate. As far as the actual trip goes- I really can’t say enough good times. We went to Thailand and Cambodia, and the whole experience was perfect- start to finish. If you want to really immerse yourself in a local culture without any hassle of planning- book with Jacada!
My wife and I recently returned from our honeymoon to Vietnam and Thailand designed by Jacada Travel. From the moment we arrived, we thought Jacada, their guides and selected hotels did an excellent job of making us feel welcome and important. Our tour guides in both countries were friendly and knowledgeable. Rachel Beck and Gilda Tang were a pleasure to work with and made some excellent hotel and restaurant recommendations. Jacada is attentive to detail and will follow up with you throughout your journey to ensure everything is running smoothly. I would not hesitate to recommend Jacada Travel for planning a fun and memorable trip!
Great, great experience and would for sure use them again. This was honestly the first time I let a travel agent handle my schedule, so I was nervous, but must say that they did an amazing job!!!!
The itinerary was exactly what we would have designed ourselves – there was something for every member of our group. And the guides were wonderful too. We had a fantastic trip! We would definitely use Jacada again.
65 year old Canadian cardiologist who has traveled moderately previously (Nairobi, Nepal, SE Asia, etc) with the most recent trip to Kyiv Ukraine who wanted an organized excellent educational tour of Peru (Cuzco, Lake Titikaka, Machu Picchu, Amazon, Lima). Jacada was superb with great pretrip internet and telephone consultation as well as guiding my wife and myself thru the entire visit (not intrusive yet comprehensive). When we asked for something additional they organized it to our satisfaction. Fernando the guide in Cuzco/Sacred Valley was the best guide we have ever had, knowledgeable, taking our requests in stride and supporting yet not pushing us. If you want to visit and enjoy a Peruvian trip this is for you.
Jacada Travel identified our travel requirements to South America very carefully and came up with an itinerary that suited us perfectly. The hotels, guides, drivers and food were great. Our travel designer, Jobi arranged welcome notes and gifts at various stops which made our holiday extra special. We will definitely use Jacada Travel again.
Jacada arranged a week’s holiday for us in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The whole experience was not just unforgettable, it was a week of new sights, new sounds and new feelings. From our greeting at the airport, we were made to feel so welcome by all the friendly people of this bustling city, who simply couldn’t do enough to make our stay a memorable and enjoyable holiday. Our visits to the many temples and monuments were enhanced by our knowledgable guide, who educated us in the best possible way about Cambodia’s rich history and even about the principles of Buddhism. Everywhere we went, we were driven by the same driver, who, in a city which seemed to have very few rules of the road, remained beautifully calm and not once made us feel anything but totally safe and secure. He was always ready with cold towels and cold water, whenever we returned to the vehicle. The staff at Shinta Mani Club, where we stayed, were without exception friendly, polite and anxious to please. The hotel restaurant was an absolute delight. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. All this wonderful attention to detail is, I believe, a hallmark of Jacada Travel’s service. There were lovely little touches, from the beautifully presented Travel Guide and itinerary, to the champagne on arrival, to the temples guidebook, and thoughtful extras, like a sunset boat ride, a luxurious candlelit dinner, a visit to a local family for Cambodian snacks and fresh coconut juice and even a ride in a bullock cart. The whole week, culminating in our departure at the airport when we bade farewell to our guide and driver, went seamlessly and smoothly.
Our trip to Vietnam was beyond any of our expectations. Accommodations were all exceptional, the guides were excellent, and the people behind the scenes did so much to make our trip over the top.
All of our African travel was extremely well planned and quality of tours and personnel at jacada are one step over and beyond expectations.
Tess and her team listened, asked questions, made recommendations and were very flexible throughout our planning process. She put together an amazing experience that far exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were incredible, service impeccable, food excellent and each day surpassed the previous. Absolutely incredible experience.
I had the most amazing, awesome vacation of my life!
Jacada’s group of professionals made our trip to Peru very special. They anticipated situations and provided the best experience possible.
I hadn’t been to Latin America for many years (decades, actually), so in planning for a wide-ranging trip to multiple destinations over a month, I was relying on my memories of a very different time/place. Were it not for the up to date knowledge of Jacada staff, I would have been searching in vain for places that haven’t existed for many years. Jacada made great suggestions for new experiences and we found that every detail was truly remarkable. Having traveled a lot around the world, I’ve got lots of memories of places, but I think this trip has to be up there with the best!
We used Jacada Travel to organize our trip to South Africa as we were finding it difficult to arrange some of the transfers and to decide which safari lodge to stay at. It was the absolute best decision we could have made! Byron listened to what we wanted to see and do and then developed an amazing itinerary! The accommodations were excellent and the service was outstanding everywhere we stayed. Every detail was taken care of including having someone meet us at Johannesburg to expedite us through Customs and onto our next flight. We never had to worry about transfers or tours – all was taken care of in a flawless manner. The tour guides were knowledgeable and personable and the drivers were courteous and professional. Angela (our concierge at Jacada) answered all of our questions before the trip and booked restaurant reservations for us beforehand. She was able to change the day of one of our tours when the weather forecast called for rain. We were truly treated like VIPs throughout the trip! This was such an incredible trip all thanks to Jacada. I have no hesitation in recommending them to develop a luxury vacation you’ll never forget!
Jacada provided us with the utmost in professionalism in planning our trip to Peru. Accommodations were beyond expectations and guides provided were both personable and willing to do whatever needed to be done to ensure that our trip was perfect. Along the way, they even threw in a few unexpected surprises which enhanced our experience even more. Not only will I unconditionally recommend them to friends and family, I already have while also contemplating my next adventure for them to plan and organize for us.
An adventure, different than any other vacation. Attention to detail by Jacada’s personnel and “hands on” service was beyond belief. Guides were unbelievably knowledgable. That alone made one feel comfortable.
I am glad to choose Jacada Travel to set up my first Safari trip，a most enjoyable stay filled with unforgettable memories.
This company offers SIX Star service. The work they did up front to ensure the trip was exactly what we wanted and within budget, was excellent. Their descriptions and understanding of the accomodations and places we would visit were extremely accurate. The places we stayed were the best each country had to offer for our budget. Every detail was cared for. We were treated like royalty by everyone. I can’t say enough good things about Jacada Travel.
From start to finish Team Jacada were truly amazing, especially Tess and Amanda, true professionals who sorted everything out for us.Nothing was too much trouble, even when we changed our itinery around slightly. They answered all our annoying questions big or small and gave honest opinions on places to go,visit and restaurants to try etc. Everything they arranged and organised all worked by total clock work,we didnt have to worry about anything other than having an amazing South African adventure.I cannot recommend these guys enough,I will certainly be using Jacada again if and when we come back to Africa, which I know I will, too beautiful not to.I have just recommended them to a friend of mine, after months of emails back and forth to both Tess and Amanda you feel like you have made new friends.Absolute top class and I thank them again for all they did for us and making our holiday so fabulous!
Our group consisted of 4 adults and 4 teenaged daughters. We used Tessa at Jacada Travel to plan our Killi climb and safari, all in Tanzania. The entire trip went off without a hitch and was fabulous. Would use Tessa again if we travel to Africa.
I absolutely loved working with Jacada for my Iceland vacation. I told them everything I wanted to do and they really took care of the rest. The people I worked with were nice, sweet, understanding and I really felt they wanted to give me the best experience possible. Jacada Travel is my go-to for vacation planning.
We are very experienced travellers and our recent trip with Jacada travel was amazing. They go the further yard to ensure you have an excellent trip. All pick ups and escorts through the airports were very smooth. The hotel in Capetown was hospitality at is best. Fire lit in out room with a bottle of wine chilling on our arrival. Restaurants booked and trips organised. With the Safari it was the best ever . We have been to safaris from the Amazon to Zim, and this could not be faulted. Exceeded our high expections of luxury camping. Well done everyone and thank you to all concerned.
Einar the super jeep driver made the trip! He was great fun and an amazing conversationalist. I have already recommended him to several of my friends. We were not able to go on our Ice berg lagoon trip due to the zodiac company having a boat malfunctioning. Einar did everything he could to come up alternative solutions. However the Zodiac company was less than helpful.
There are a number of very good luxury tour companies that provide great personalized service, unique and memorable experiences, superb accommodations, and first rate tour guides. JACADA certainly meets and exceeds that standard. Then there are truly great luxury tour companies like JACADA. In our case we found this out when our inbound flight was delayed by nearly 24 hours. This resulted in our missing by several hours the departure of a very special train that only runs twice a month. After notifying JACADA of our problem, within a few hours they emailed a plan. We would be met at the jet-way, quickly taken through immigration, collect our luggage and into a vehicle that would CHASE THE TRAIN. They had arranged with the train manager to stop at a siding to pick us up. I had my doubts, but the plan worked flawlessly and the train manager and a hostess were waiting for us outside the train as we pulled up. While we were obviously very pleased with the outcome here, the logistics and coordination involved in making all that happen are quite amazing. JACADA does offer “suggested” itineraries, but where they excel is with the experienced international traveler with special requests. We were never told “no” or “too hard” even when a request was late in the process. Because they have personal knowledge of the areas visited and facilities, they also ensure you have the best in each location. Everywhere we stayed in a multi-stop, multi-country journey we had an envelope in our room from our JACADA travel coordinator welcoming us. If you are looking for genuinely personalized luxury travel service from a team of real experts, who meet and exceed your expectations not only when things go right, but also if things go wrong, look no further than JACADA.
George and his team were easy to work with, including details that made the experience memorable. When an unforeseeable event occurred right before the trip began, they made all the necessary itinerary changes so that the trip was a huge success.
Jacada is heads and shoulders above the rest. Their service level is impeccable and attention to detail is phenomenal. Jacada will find you the best places to stay and visit and pamper you with insider info, personalized pickup and drop off services and personalized welcomes at the hotels. I will definitely use Jacada again and I highly recommend them.
George at Jacada put together an unbelievable trip to Iceland. We have nothing to say but WOW! My husband really said (several times) that we weren’t on a vacation but we were on an adventure! The hotels were perfect! We loved both of them. The people were great. And our guides were so friendly, knowledgeable, and just fit in with our family. We loved all of them. All 4 guides were so wonderful; we enjoyed meeting more locals and hearing each of their stories! Each day we were there brought more incredible scenery and fun things to do! When we’ve asked each other what day was our favorite, I don’t think any of us could answer! Everything we did from the hikes, the glacier hike, the volcanoes, the snowmobiling… They were all so different! LOVED every second! It was really a trip of a lifetime!
Jacada Travel organized our family trip to Peru. It was fun, exciting and cautionary holidays noone will forget. We didn’t have to worry about anything at all. Just amazing time!
Me and my friends were planning for a trip to Peru since the beginning of 2016, and We did the right decision when we chose Jacada Travel to handle all the details for our trip ! We had a wonderful experience, the 12 of us ! excellent accommodations, friendly tour guide and perfect care of the little details ! We will totally travel with them again to other destination ! I personally loved how they are well arranged from the day I emailed them and then working on the perfect itinerary together and later living the great details in real in Peru ! it was definitely the ultimate trip with adventure, sightseeing, luxury, cultural experience and more
Every detail of our 15 day trip to South America was perfect from the meeting us at the airports to the English speaking guides/private drivers to the beautiful hotels! I would definitely use Jacada again.
Jacada and Emily Opie planned the 10 day trip my daughter and I took to Peru earlier this month. We visited the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Lima, Cusco and the Amazon. Jacada arranged transportation, guides, activities, hikes and some meals. They did a great job — trip was fabulous, guides fun and knowledgeable and logistics close to flawless.
Our trip to Peru was nothing short of an adventure! Each of our destinations was planned out perfectly, and the order in which we saw the various parts of the country was well thought out, considering the challenge of the altitude. So much so that we acclimated very well as we traveled throughout our 2 weeks. We started in the Amazon and finished up on serene beautiful Lake Titicaca, with amazing culture filled stops in between in the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco. Our guides were knowledgeable and fun to be around. We loved it! Thank you Jacada Travel!
Jonny H. from Jacada took care of every detail in planning our last minute Safari to Kenya. We were greeted at each of the camps with notes from Jonny welcoming us. It was like having a knowledgeable friend traveling with us!
Our trip included the best of city sightseeing (Johannesburg and Cape Town) along with Hermanus…coastal marine life sightings, luxurious train travel from Pretoria to Cape Town, thrilling safari experiences in Sabi Sands. Tessa and team at Jacada were wonderful to work with and customized the trip based on our interests and timing. All excursions were well planned and executed. The guides provided were intelligent, helpful, gracious, and knowledgeable. They arrived promptly for our excursions and exceeded our expectations. They represented four different native tribes, and helped us to understand the history, culture and politics of South Africa. The hotels were exceptional in their location, service, and amenities. The guide/driver and tracker on the safari were extremely knowledgeable about animal behavior and made every effort to find and show us 26 different species of mammals. It was a trip of a life time! Thank you, Jacada Travel
Jacada travel advisor provided me detailed and professional cooments for what I need, and carings for my trip all the way.
Jacada Travel was great to work with throughout the process. From the very beginning and listening to what experiences we wanted to have and customizing our trip to us, to helping us get reservations at a specific restaurant, and modifying our itinerary a month or so before to include shark diving all while keeping within our budget. All transfers were seamless throughout the trip and private guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. The places we stayed were so unique and each place made us feel at home.
Attentive to the preferences of the traveler, carefully arranged tours with an eye to details, excellent tour guide, smooth and easy transport from place to place, well thought out restaurant recommendations: superb in every way! Absolutely recommend this travel company.
We (family of 2 adults and 3 kids) have traveled twice with Jacada. Once to Argentina and once to Japan and Vietnam. We have great memories from both trips. Overall excellent service, tailor-made itineraries and flexibility to adapt to any special requests that may arise during the trip. I would highly recommend Jacada for a hassle free vacation and unique experiences.
Jacada have provided me with a bespoke and fully personalised itinerary every time I have travelled with them across South America, Central America, Europe and Africa. They are my number 1 preferred boutique travel agent and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a unique and luxurious trip. The quality of their service is a testament to the expertise they employ, with each agent a designated specialist working closely with local partners to ensure a full and personally tailored experience.
2nd time with Jacada. Excellent as usual
The trip was completely customized for what I wanted to do. Accommodations were all luxurious. They arranged everything including all in country plane transfers. Communication on schedule was perfect.
Tess and company made sure every detail was perfect. We had the best family trip you could imagine.
I stumbled upon Jacada on the Internet in April 2016 and filled out a form. To my excitment they promptly contacted me the next day and asked some questions in regard to planning dates, budget, ages, level of comfort. Within a day a had a proposal for England/South Africa. With a little adjustments the trip was finalized and customized within a week. My son and I just returned yesterday from “the trip of a lifetime”. JACADA you made this trip a wow. Everything went perfect. From the transfers, private tours, reataurant picks,London hotel was perfect the safari lodges you chose it was unbelievable. I would highly recommend and will be using Jacada for future travel.
I would recommend that the personal guides go on the hikes and tours to experience what it is like to traverse the venues with all the bus tour attendees.
Personable and professional……knowledgeable and insightful….. Caring and committed….. The Jacada team helped create an adventure of a lifetime for my family!!!! Looking forward to the next!
Our first experience with Jacada. It was flawless. Great attention to detail, perfect selection of areas to visit and camps where to stay and, most importantly, a great choice of service providers. They (Jacada) will be the first ones we call to plan our next trip.
Great attention to detail. Very personal interest on the part of the agent and attention to every detail. Exceeded our expectations. Would book with Jacarda Travel again.
I happened upon Jacada with a simple Google search, and I’m extremely glad that I did. My travel agent, Lily Bunker, could not have been more professional and helpful. She had excellent recommendations for the perfect honeymoon in Costa Rica and did a fantastic job with the arrangements. Prior to leaving she made sure we were fully prepared for everything we’d booked spent as much time on the phone with me as needed to answer any and all questions. Jacada also sent my wife and I a personalized travel book with our itinerary, country info, and other useful documents. It was a really nice touch. Again, Lily made all of our arrangements with a honeymoon in mind. That being said, every accommodation and every tour was booked with our honeymoon in mind: private dinners, private tours, and private transportation. Every employees at all the above were beyond professional, and each wanted to ensure we got the most out of our private tour. If you’re on a honeymoon, this is definitely the way to go. The experience is SO MUCH BETTER. The resorts that Jacada recommended were excellent, and I highly recommend them. The Tabacon resort by the Arenal Volcano and JW Marriott by the Pacific Coast could not have been better. Lily actually recommended splitting the trip up like this, and I was extremely happy to have done it. I can’t say enough about how great our honeymoon went. Booking with Jacada was a terrific experience, and I am going to recommend it to any and all of my friends looking for a memorable trip. If you like awesome trips and getaways, definitely use them.
It’s hard not to be at least a little anxious when choosing a travel agency for an exotic vacation in a far off land. At some point, a small leap of faith is required to assure oneself that the planned trip will be a comfortable fit and go smoothly. Whatever anxiety I might have had was short lived. I can honestly say that the South Africa vacation, planned for us by Senior Safari Designer, Tessa van der Walt and Jacada Travel, was not only the most interesting, educational and exciting vacation of our lives, but also the most comfortable, enjoyable and worry-free. Attention to detail begins in the early planning stages, as robust communication, combined with extensive personal knowledge of the region, allowed Tessa and I to craft an itinerary that fit our life style and desires. Jacada provided detailed information on all aspects of the upcoming trip at regular intervals, including essential details on important topics such as vaccinations, clothing, packing tips, currency, food and the like. By the time we were ready to leave, we really were ready to go. As the trip approached, we were introduced to our Concierge, Angela Thomas, who provided some details about what to expect from Jacada upon arrival in Africa and an emergency number where she could be reached if necessary. She also suggested some great restaurants to try in Cape Town, arranging reservations for us in advance of our trip. The trip itself could not have gone better. The airport gate greeters, drivers and tour guides were all friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and on time (early). The hotels were uniformly charming – in some cases spectacularly so – with attentive staff, eager to please. I won’t get into the details of the tours here, but each was a perfect fit. The tour guides were all energetic professionals and by the end of the tour, friends. Everywhere we went, personal notes from Tessa greeted us on arrival. Hotel staff provided us with both small surprises in our rooms, up to an incredible birthday dinner on safari. Each day a delight. All of this attention to detail does more than just provide a five star experience. It allows you to relax and really enjoy it, secure in the knowledge that you are being cared for. So my sincere thanks to the staff at Jacada Travel for a vacation that almost goes beyond description. That’s how you do customer service, folks. Bravo.
Everything, including small details, was excellent. We especially remember the attention in the service and the dedication of teams to always make us satisfied.
Jacada Travel designed a 2 week trip to Thailand and Japan for us. They took care of every detail including luxury accommodations, English speaking tour guides, transfers, and even dinner reservations. The trip was perfectly done and we did Not have to do a thing except enjoy! We definitely plan to use them again and we would not hesitate to recommend their services!
I usually plan my own trips but I decided to go with Jacada Travel since it was a trip to South Africa. They handle everything and I was not disappointed.
Kate and others at Jacada listened when we told them what we wanted to do in Japan. Many of the requests were unusual. Kate made sure we knew what we were asking for and then planned a trip to accomplish it. Listening is not always something travel planners do. The execution of the trip was flawless. Each guide was not only knowledgeable but went to great lengths to make sure we were doing and seeing the things we wanted. We have already planned our next trip with Jacada!
We had Jacana Travel organize for us a trip to South Africa, Zambia and Botswana. They did a fantastic job as everything went according to plans. The places they suggested were great and all of us had a very pleasant experience. We have no reservations in recommending Jacana to anyone looking for a diverse trip where all the details, including some handholding, are taken care. Jacada also understood what we were looking for in a trip and made great recommendations in regard to where to stay and what to do.
We traveled for two weeks in South America. Starting in the lovely historical city of Quito, we knew we were in for a treat. Jacada handled every detail of our travel, pick-up, hotel, touring, restaurant experiences, etc. flawlessly. They transferred us to the next part of our trip, the Galápagos Island cruise without a hitch. We enjoyed five days on the Santa Cruz II, which offered superior service, excellent accommodations, as well as wonderfully prepared food, and well educated, knowledgeable guides. You could not ask for more. Once we retuned to land we were back in Jacada’s capable hands as we flew to Peru. We continued to explore the land and history of the Inca people. Everywhere we visited, each hotel we stayed in, each guide who lead us was exceptional. I have traveled extensively in my life but have never felt so worry free on a trip before this time. I would not hesitate to recommend Jacada to any traveler looking for a first class experience, worry free, on their vacation. I would give them 6 stars.
Jacada organized a two week trip through South Africa. Byron at the London office spent a lot of time discussing our wants and helped us narrow down our choices to give us the best and most varied experience within our time frame and our budget, and boy did he succeed! Everything went like clockwork–from the initial contact at the airport where we were whisked through the incredibly long line up at passport control ( after 30 hours of travel, that was the best thing ever!), to the amazingly sumptuous lodges, to the drivers who took us from one destination to another. I felt like a princess on this trip and am now officially spoiled and unwilling to settle for anything less. Thank you for a wonderful experience
Totally organized, totally professional. Trip of a lifetime.
We had a fantastic holiday. Everything was very well organised. The two guides we had were excellent
Having given an outline of what we wanted to see and do, the centerpiece being to take the Hiram Bingham train and stay at Sanctuary Lodge in Machu Picchu, Jacada ( Ciara Owens in particular) gave us excellent advice and put together a fabulous experience. The hotels were wonderful. The pacing of the trip and the private guides arranged for us were exceptional We had time to absorb what we were visiting and enjoyed the services of very open, knowledgeable, flexible, well informed and personable guides. There were extras in addition to the sights we wanted to see. One guide planned a ‘picnic’ for us, unlike any I have ever had. A tent, with rugs, cushions, facing snow covered mountains, and delicious Peruvian foods, catered by a charming young couple from Cusco. Edgar also took us to an animal rescue where we saw a spectacled bear cub, orphaned and just 6 months old, a baby vincuna, and condors up close and personal. We had a visit to a family farm high in the Andes and learned how they work the fields, and prepare and spin wool into those marvelously inticate weavings. Sheep to loom and finished products, plus a home cooked meal with 4 shy and curious, proud and happy women and a 5 month old baby. In their home. Travel connections were well planned and booking taken care of by our guides. Everything ran so smoothly! When we wanted to see the Ice Maiden in Ariquipa, which had not been on our itinerary, Jose provided extra time for us to do this and a personal tour of the exhibits. He also took us to visit a local one-room school in the Andes which was eye opening in terms of how the indigenous people live. And included a birthday cake and song for my travel partner. The 2 students who showed up that day, of the 21 who may travel up to 3 hours to get there on any given day, work and weather permitting, clearly found us rather exotic and were thrilled to be given the little cake our guide had secretly brought along. Very touching. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
Had a wonderful trip which was well organized by George. The accommodations were first class as were the tours and tour guides. We were so well taken care of by everyone associated with this company. Always felt safe and looked after. Would highly recommend it.
Jacada travel was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. They put together an incredible package for us, the accommodations were fabulous, the food was superb, the people were wonderful. Every detail was attended to and all our tours and transfers were spot on. I would highly recommend this company.
Jacada, and Ciara/Susann in particular, did an amazing job of organizing our trip. We did three countries, eight locations and ten flights without a hitch. The local support was excellent and the advice as to things to do on the ground was really useful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone.
My experience in planning travel to Victoria Falls and South Africa with Tessa and the other members of the team at Jacada was wonderful. I hosted a group of 12 people and at the end of the vacation, everyone stated that this was the best vacation they had ever been on, and most have experienced travel to all over the world. My expectations, which were extremely high, were exceeded. I have no qualms about recommending Jacada Travel to anyone.
Jonny and Jacada agents in England and South Africa created a flawless experinece for us. Their attention at the beginning with a conversation to discover our travel needs/wants and while on the trip with personal notes at each lodging place was astounding. Their knowledge of unique experiences whether of lodging or activity is extensive and up-to-date. We felt supported and able to fully enter into our first time to Africa. We returned home rating this trip at the top of many wonderful trips and are already talking with them about our next trip to South America. Anne Miner-Pearson, USA
When we began talking about a trip to Southeast Asia we knew very little about the area. We had heard from several of our friends that this part of the world was well worth a visit. But where were we to start? Thank goodness I had used Jacada for a trip to Peru a few years ago so I knew I could depend on them to help plan an exciting vacation. After a couple emails and phone calls, Kate was able to put together a truly remarkable itinerary for us. I was speechless when I first saw her suggestions-how could she have so quickly identified what I wanted-I didn’t even know what I wanted! From that moment until our return home, Jacada was remarkable. The tours, guides, drivers and accommodations were perfect. Everyone was where they promised, all the tours and guides wonderful and the hotels just as described. I just can’t think of any single thing I would have changed-and all this was built specifically for us in a matter of days. Our thanks to Kate and Alec and all those in the background who worked so diligently to give a the trip of a lifetime.
Outstanding vacation! Everything went extremely smoothly, Jacada representatives were with us every step of the way, accommodations were outstanding, and tour guides were superb. This was a vacation with an aggressive itinerary that went flawlessly. All of the tour guides were top notch and Jacada was able to secure reservations at the top places for us. We would not have changed a thing and highly recommend Jacada for complex travel arrangements. No detail was overlooked. We very much enjoyed our two days at Machu Picchu, hiking to the top of Huayna Picchu, and the scenic train ride. We spent a few days aboard the Delfin I in the Amazon and very much enjoyed the intimate small boat setting. Our Galapagos cruise aboard the Santa Cruz II was also amazing. Overall, fantastic trip!!!
Jacada arranged our trip to Peru. Four hotels, three cities not one snag. First class hotels, guides and drivers that made a difference; insightful, helpful and great people. Passionate about their jobs. They structure your day but leave time to explore on your own. Just follow their recommendations and you can’t go wrong.
Byron Thomas worked closely with us to put together an itinerary for our trip to South Africa that was customized to our wishes. No detail was left to chance! Jacada and their people are wonderful to work with! I highly recommend Jacada!
It was an excellent trip. Java and Bali are beautiful. I have given Jacada Travel a 5-star rating but must add that it wasn’t quite as good as my African Safari. The personnel (at Jacada) are very helpful and did a great job setting up the trip. Thank you again. PS: I have recommended them to friends and business associates and plan to use them again.
Jacada Travel planned an incredible trip to Thailand for my two teenage kids and I. We wanted a mix of city, wildlife and nature, and a beach with a spa. Kate tailored our trip to our exact wishes and it was an experience my kids and I will not soon forget. The local guides Jacada uses are amazing and the Thai people are wonderful. There was someone to meet us at every stop and answer all of our questions. We had plenty of time to shop on our own in addition to the great activities we experienced in every city that Jacada planned based on our interests. Jacada is the epitome of personalized travel service and we are already planning our next adventure with Jacada. Thank you Jacada Travel!
We would highly recommend Jacada Travel. They were thorough and thoughtful. We were taken care of from morning until night each and every day of our trip. Attention to detail was exceptional. All of our guides were knowledgeable and kind. We had a fabulous holiday thanks to Jacada Travel’s trip designers. Many thanks and cheers to our trip designers, guides and drivers!!
It was an amazing experience! Johnny and his team at Jacada were most helpful, made all the arrangements that was first-class. We had a great time thanks to Jacada. I would highly recommend Jacada for all future travels, I know I will use them again for sure. Johnny was very patient with me as we made many changes to the trip. He worked very hard to make sure that everything was just right. It was amazing how everything worked like clockwork when we got there. The local guides were very good, accommodations 5 star!
This was our first experience with Jacada and they did an amazing job. George, with his gentle questioning, got a good sense of who we were as a family and planned it perfectly. Our guide, Max, was brilliant and had so much knowledge, but was also very patient and good fun. The hotels, being mainly Belmond, were of course the best you can buy and the facilities and staff reflected this…we were made to feel very special everywhere we went. Thank you George….you did good!!!!
We took a family trip (4 of us) to Belize arranged by Emily from Jacada. As is typical for Jacada, everything was perfect. From the unique resorts (Table Rock and Victoria House), to the incredible excursions planned for us, the vacation was amazing. Every detail was taken care of. Having Emily from Jacada plan your vacation is completely stress free. We will definitely use them again.
My husband and I wanted a unique honeymoon and we were interested in Iceland so after some research I called Jacada and spoke with Byron who mapped out an amazing trip. He said we could virtually show up with just our passports and everything would be taken care of and he was right…we didn’t have to worry about anything or plan what we would do next….we didn’t have to look at maps and worry about transportation….our personal tour guides were excellent and the hotels and restaurants were awaiting our arrival. We truly had an epic vacation.
Jonny and his team at Jacada turned our South African adventure into the trip of a lifetime! I grew up in South Africa and had always wanted to go back. Time and distance never allowed it. But In early March my husband and I were sitting in our living room and quite impulsively decided to take our 3 year old son and head for South Africa. One catch- we had to leave in 20 days. But who could plan a trip from Washington, D.C. to South Africa in just 20 days? We called Jacada in London, and it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We don’t know how Jonny and his team did it, but 4 days later we had an unbelievable itinerary taking us back home to Johannesburg, then up into Krueger for Safari for 5 nights, onto a remote and unbelievably gorgeous island off the coast of Mozambique (Bazaruto) and then back for one last wonderful night in South Africa. When the day came, we packed up our 3 year old son and left for what was the most luxurious trip we’ve ever been on. Every airport we arrived in, expediters met us at the door of the aircraft leading us through immigration, out to waiting drivers, who then whisked us off to beautiful hotels. We were paired with experienced and wonderful drivers, trackers, and rangers who frankly we fell in love with throughout our trip. The people we met along the way, we will never forget. After each destination we felt a deep sadness leaving, and once arriving at the next location, lost once again in a world of luxury and adventure. Being able to sit with my boys in the middle of the Bush and watch the sun set, was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. From nightfall in leopard territory amongst the riverbed, to sunrise on the Indian Ocean, we 2 dads and our son were treated with exemplary respect and kindness from every person we came into contact with. In what was an extremely special moment, Jacada even made it possible for me to take my boys and visit the house I grew up in. It will remain one of the most remarkable moments of my life. We will absolutely be booking our future vacations with Jacada. Jacada travel is luxury, adventure, efficiency, and kindness all rolled into one, and we are forever grateful. From two dads and one little guy who disappeared into the wild for 2 weeks and returned with the greatest sense of life- we are very grateful to you Jonny and the rest of the Jacada Team. Stellar work, you’ve enriched our souls.
From start to finish, Jacada curated an unparalleled experience in Vietnam and Cambodia. Though we enjoyed the absolute in luxury for accommodations, the highlights of our journey had to do with the local guides and the off the beaten track experiences. Of course, transfers were flawlessly executed and we never had to concern ourselves with any of the minute details. Shout out to Rachel who put everything together for us. We’re already looking forward to our next adventure.
We just returned from a 7 country, 40 day trip to South Asia. The trip was fabulous and Jacada’s Kate Edwards and Alec had a great deal to do with the trip’s success. We had a broad outline itinerary of what we were looking for. Travel to Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos , Vietnam, Cambodia and Bali. We wanted to emphasize the rural locations and minimize our time in the big cities – Bangkok, Hanoi and Saigon. We wanted to stay in luxury boutique hotels wherever possible. And, we wanted to do all this in 40 days. Putting together a trip like this was a logistical challenge and I quickly knew that I needed help. No problem for Jacada. Kate took my outline and produced a detailed outline with a price within days.Kate advised us how best to avoid the Chinese New Year and the rainy seasons across the large geography that we should cover. Once we had locked in the lodging, flights and dates for each location, we worked out activities that our guides would follow. This was detailed while at the same time flexible. We traveled as a couple and our guides were often arranged by our boutique hotels that specialized in flexibility and creativity. Kate and Alec monitored everything. So that was our itinerary, our plan. But the test is in the execution, the experience. The results were outstanding, close to miraculous! We had 20 flight legs go without a hitch. Not a detail missed. And we changed the activities on our itinerary several times. Done easily with a short email to Kate and Alec. Additionally, Kate had recommendations for things to do, places to stay and restaurants to dine at many of the locations. Each of these many suggestions was a memorable addition to our adventure. Of course we loved the welcoming letters from Kate waiting in our room wet we arrived. The bottles of wine or champagne were wonderful, too. The suggested dining spots, we will remember for the rest of our lives. We had a spectacular journey. I found Jacada on the internet and maybe that is part of their magic. They are certainly technologically capable and sophisticated in handling the details. Yes, I do recommend Jacada, Kate and Alec unhesitantly and yes, we are discussing our next trip to South America with Jacada.
A great experience using Jacada. All segments of our trip were planned efficiently and personalized to our interests. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for any trip you are planning. One of the best luxury travel companies we’ve used
Our experience with Jacada is based on our travels to Chile and Argentina and we found them from start to finish to be extremely professional and we would highly recommend them
We used Jacada to plan our honeymoon to Africa. The trip consisted of 4 nights in Capetown, 3 nights in Sabi Sands at Dulini, and 2 nights in Livingston, Zambia visiting the falls. The overall experience was amazing. Our only regret was that we didn’t have more time. My wife wished we had more time to shop… I thought it was perfectly timed. Every recommendation that Tessa made for our trip was brilliant. Dulini was an absolutely amazing place and we highly recommend getting May or Steve as your guide. In Capetown, make sure you go to the Flagship. Try to work in a day to visit Stellenbosch and the wine region. In Zambia, visit Livingston island. Angels/Devils pool is not for the faint of heart, but the lunch they served was amazing. Amazing Experience!!!
We have recently returned from Vietnam and Cambodia. Before booking with Jacada, I had never heard of them but was impressed with their approach and first hand experiences. We entrusted Kate and Alec with the itinerary, choice of hotels and excursions and could not have been more impressed. Their agents in the area, About Asia, similarly, could not have done more to ensure that we had an excellent holiday. I would recommend them unreservedly.
This had to be the most seamless experience I have had traveling. Emily and Susanne where always available to answer questions. We went to 4 different areas in Argentina and Chile. Upon arrival in each city, there was always some one to greet us and take us to the hotel. The guides we had through out the trip were A+. The guides got us through the airports without having to wait in line. Stella our guide in Buenos Aires was great and spent 2 days with us. Eduardo was our guide in Mendoza the wine region, took us to 6 winery’s which he knew all the owners. We were treated first class. In Santiago our guide was Alvaro. he knew Santiago like the back of his hand. We went on a walking tour of the city. The main reason for the trip was Patagonia. The hotel (Tierra Patagonia) was unbelievable. 5 stars. I would uses Jacada, Emily and Susanne again to plan a vacation. Not a bad find for a search on the internet. Thanks again for a trip of a lifetime.
They completely understood our style in hotels and itinerary. Excellent guides, no glitches, everything was in perfect order. We are already planning another trip with Jacada.
The team was great to work with – from start to finish. The attention to detail and coordination was unmatched, truly. The lodging and accommodations were incredible. Byron, Jonny and the whole team made sure every provision was taken care of and they thought through every angle, even our side trip to Dodoma to visit some friends. I wouldn’t do another trip of this nature (Africa or elsewhere) with any other group. Period.
A friend and I wanted to plan a trip to Thailand and Cambodia. We are unfamiliar with this part of the world, and turned to Jacada for help. We worked with Rachel and I highly recommend her. She really listened to us and helped us handcraft the type of experience we wanted. Some of her suggestions were the highlights of our trip! She arranged a day at a private elephant sanctuary, a day of shopping at a local market with a chef and a cooking class just with the two of us. None of the experiences felt “canned”. These people had a passion for their work and it showed. She arranged private guides at each location- these people made all the difference. Their English was excellent and they helped us to understand the history , culture and day to day concerns of the population. This added a real richness to the experience. She chose great (non generic) hotels that reflected a local flavor. She helped us with dinner recommendations. I highly recommend Rachel and Jacada. I will use them again when my desired travel destinations line up with their expertise.
Jacada Travel gave us a trip of a life time! We were kept on an amazing adventure every day. From the beginning Rachel Beck was easy to talk to and listened to what we wanted out of a trip to Southeast Asia; with her experience and expertise she mapped out our trip and exceeded all of our expectations! Along with Alec Curry they hired English speaking tour guides that were extremely nice, fun, informative, intelligent, punctual and adaptable to our needs! The accommodations, vehicles, boats, bikes restaurants, spas, sightseeing, cooking classes, shopping and even golf courses were spectacular!!!! We will definitely use Jacada Travel again to fullfill our bucket list! Thank you again Rachel and Alec for an awesome trip!!! Best, Valerie and Neal Waldman and Denise and Peter Weinberg
We recently spent three weeks in Chile and Argentina with all the arrangements made by Jacada. George Warren took the time upfront to learn about our interests and any limitations, and then worked through several itinerary iterations to get to the perfect trip. His personal knowledge of the lodges and hotels where we stayed as well as local guides and environment made all the difference, and the execution was flawless. George checked in with emails and notes thought the trip to learn how we were progressing, willing to make any mid course adjustments (although none were necessary). Where Jacada has local expertise, we would turn to them again for future travel in a heartbeat.
All aspects of the trip were handled with great care to detail and efficiently.
The Travel Designer, Joyce Choi, is really knowledgeable, helpful and patiently answered all my questions for my first ever climbing trip. The best Travel Designer that I ever dealt with. On the ground, the arrangement was perfect. The local trekking company that Jacada chose is also one of the best. Their crews are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We spent 8 days in the mountain and it went so fast because we had so much fun with the crews. Definitely one of the best trip in my life.
Our entire trip was extremely well coordinated, we had many change/transfer points and they well all done timely and by highly professional folks
Well organised, best rooms in hotels, good guides, transportation fine.
Our trip was to Vietnam and Cambodia. The choices of hotels were also excellent, the best available in the locations. We enjoyed the activities, which were varied and adapted to our age and preference even the first morning tai-chi lesson at six. The guides were knowledgable, easy going and always prompt on time. Drivers and vehicles both of high quality. Their choice of travel by boat or Van was great as road or traffic conditions were chosen to be most convenient for us. They organized surprise lunches in the middle of the jungle, complete with table linnens, porcelain dinnerware and real glasses. Another time people came out of the jungle with glasses filled with champagne to welcome from a boat trip. Traveling with two aging couples, we had a wonderful time.
We would highly recommend Jacada and Jonny to anyone–and, in fact, already have recommended it to my brother! Jonny was incredibly patient and flexible during the planning stages. He listened to exactly what we wanted and was able to deliver an amazing experience that exceeded our expectations. It was so reassuring to have contacts in-country in case anything came up, but everything went like clockwork. The guides were amazing, the hotels were beautiful, the service was excellent. We would love to book with Jacada and Jonny again!
Our 8 days in Argentina, to visit our daughter during her junior year abroad, were just right: 3 days in BA, 2 days in Iguazu and 2 days on an idyllic horse ranch. Intensity to relaxation. Everything went as planned, and felt effortless. Constanza is an amazing guide. We are experienced travellers and had only used an agent once before, and think this trip was perfect.
Our trip was a major outing of our entire 17 member immediate family to the Gallipolis Islands, all arriving from different locations, and with slightly different prior event itineraries. Working with Jacada was a pleasant experience from start to finish. The trip was a smashing success with no missteps or difficulties encountered. What more is there to ask for?
I decided to plan a trip with my daughter in Dec 2015. We finalised South africa as our tour destination in late Oct/early Nov, which was quite late considering year end rush. I did connect with many travel agencies but KIT from Jakada quickly got in touch with me, assured me of plan and she worked out the plan very well covering nice places such as Shambala private game reserve, Voictoria falls, Livingstone Zambia and enjoying new year eve in Cape Town. It was seamless and extremely memorable trip. Thanks KIT and thanks JAKADA for making a memorable trip in Dec 2015.
We had planned a Peru trip and had to made last minute changes. Ciara was magnificent in altering the details to make it an even more memorable trip than originally planned. Were were cared for every step of the way but even enough free time to explore on our own.
Jonny had patience and grace in dealing with our questions and lack of decision-making. On the ground, we never ever worried.
Great planning advice and insights, excellent service before and during the trip
Fantastic job by Jacada! We will continue to use them and recommend them.
I retained Jacada to arrange a trip to Chilean Patagonia and Mendoza in Argentina for my spouse and myself in January 2016. I was very impressed by their deep knowledge of the region and professionalism. Everything worked like clockwork, and we were accompanied by outstanding guides who were from the region and were interested and interesting. I was also very impressed that the guides had our itineraries, and we had hand-written notes from George Warren in our hotel rooms when checking in! I can strongly recommend Jacada as travel organizer.
We were very extremely happy with the Jacada experience. We were very eager to plan our trip to Antarctica and Patagonia and they worked to coordinate everything for us with Antarctica XXI. Ciara was our main contact and must have pulled together a million versions of the itinerary until we had examined every possible option and found the perfect fit . They were just as excited about our trip as we were! We spent a few days in Santiago before and then a week in Patagonia after the cruise. Both locations were amazing and we stayed at Singular hotels. They provided transportation at each stop and a full book beforehand with detailed itineraries for each leg of the trip. A wonderful experience !
George from Jacada arranged my honeymoon in Brazil and Argentina in December 2015. He was attentive, friendly, instructive, and above all guided me through the whole process. It wasn’t a “fire and forget” booking – George and his team were in regular communication to make sure the trip had all the personal touches that made it special. I would heartily recommend Jacada to anyone looking to arrange the holiday of a lifetime.
My sister and I have been with Jacada since 2013 for our first trip to South America planned and designed by George Warren, and for three consecutive years to Argentina, Chile and Peru. For us Jacada Travel and specially George with whom we rest assure that we will receive the high standards of every minor detail that comes across our minds. All i have to do is inform George of the desired country, the dates and everything is settelled, Our last trip to Peru in December 2015, all i can say is one word PERFECTION from the first email to George, Our professional tour guide at the Sacred Valley and Cusco Johan Sueros, and Chef Marisol Chocano unforgettable culinary tour at Lima and of course George’s welcome notes at every hotel. Now I can not wait for the little black book for our next trip.
Rachel planned an absolutely fantastic honeymoon for us in Southeast Asia. Could not recommend her or Jacada more highly!
Jacada Travel put together our amazing three week trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. A special thank you to Rachel Beck for all her hard work in planning and organizing everything down to the very last detail. Every place we visited was a good mixture of the traditional foods, culture, history and best local attractions. I would highly recommend them!!
I “discovered” Jacada Travel searching for expert travel in South East Asia. How luck I was to stumble on this travel service. From the moment I received an introductory phone call from Rachel Beck to our post trip feedback it has been a 5 star experience in knowledgeable, professional luxury travel. You pay for it but you will not be disappointed. No detail is left to chance, choices of hotels/tours/experiences are abundant and it is personalized service at its finest. We are booking our next adventure!
This trip went above and beyond our expectations. Jacada did a fantastic job planning, implementing, and with their follow through. It is rare in life one experiences perfection – but this trip was exactly that! Thank you for helping us create a memory of a lifetime!
We used Jacada for our safari/beach trip combo to Zambia and Malawi and had some great guidance from Byron Thomas. They only work with the best!
Everything was perfect, Exactly like we had planned it. Travel agents were great in planning everything down to the tiniest detail; it felt like they were traveling with us along the way.
Jacada created a amazing first class experience for our family to visit Japan. I highly recommend this trip and Jacada to all. My wife and I and our two teenage girls spent 3 nights in Tokyo, 1 in Hakone and 4 nights in Kyoto. The hotels were first class and the one night at a traditional Japanese inn in Hakone was a wonderful touch. The private tour guides were amazing everyday and made for a smooth transition to a new cultural experience. Each day was planned out exceptionally well for us to maximize the places we could see. Importantly the guides were flexible enough that we could optimize our adventures on the fly to see everything we wanted. The guides had amazing knowledge, pointed us to truly fantastic food and culture and taught us so much. Jacada’s planning was impeccable from the moment we were picked up at the airport to when we left. The combination of big city (Tokyo, Osaka), country near Mt. Fuji (Hakone) and historical (Kyoto, Nara) was a perfect mix. Thank you again for an amazing adventure and one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken.
Thank you Jobi and the entire Jacada Travel team for making our most memorable and enjoyable honeymoon happen! The entire process – from planning, the trip itself, after trip service was amazing! The planning process: Jobi made sure she understands what we want exactly out of our trip and was able to plan the perfect honeymoon for us. It was obvious to us that she knows South America extremely well and was able to advise us with any questions we might have. She also took great initiative to follow up on e-mails and calls if she doesn’t hear from us for a day. Knowing that we like adventure and food, she was even able to recommend us down to the restaurants to book. Having a perfectly planned trip makes the execution less likely to fail. The trip itself: A few weeks before the trip, we received two little black books complete with all the information we need for packing and preparing. It was extremely useful. The trip itself was amazing! The guides were very helpful and informative, and we enjoyed our time in each place. The number of days spent in each place was just perfect, none too short and none too long, which again shows how well Jobi knows her clients and each location well. Furthermore, we were very impressed and pleasantly surprised that at every hotel that we check in, there is always a card (mostly handwritten) from Jobi welcoming us, and describing to us the location and what she thinks we will like best. It was a very nice personalized touch that always warms our hearts whenever we check into a hotel. The service during the trip was also beyond our expectations. Having a 35-day honeymoon bound to have some hiccups here and there, but despite the time difference, Jobi was always there to facilitate our needs. After the trip: Even though the trip has ended and there is no more obligation from Jacada to us, Jobi and her team (especially Chile team) were still helping us track some shipment back to Singapore. The final shipment (we custom made a 70kg moai statue from Easter Island) has finally arrived and we are extremely happy that there is a momento from our amazing South American honeymoon! We wanted to post the photo of the moai but there is no attachment option on this site 🙁 Thank you Jobi and the entire Jacada team for such a perfect and memorable honeymoon!
Superb personal service and great destination knowledge, with a high attention to detail. Dealt with last minute airline problem promptly and efficiently.
I would highly recommend using Jacada travel. They looked after all our needs in every possible way. Some guides were better than others, but I guess that is to be expected. Overall, it was a great first time experience using Jacada for our Peru trip this fall. We would use them again.
The trip was wonderful, with excellent service and accommodations.
Jacada (Byron specifically) planned us the most amazing adventure for our honeymoon. We could not have asked for a better experience in any way! Simply incredible! Thanks!
We have great trip to South Africa, all aspects of our travel were carefully thought out by Jacada. Information sent prior to the trip was very useful and the staff in South Africa were knowledgeable and friendly.
Jacada travel provided the very best vacation I have ever experienced! The trip to South Africa included tours of Capetown, cage diving with great white sharks, whale watching, and a safari at Sabi Sands. Every aspect, including rooms, tours, and guides were simply fantastic. I would highly recommend Jacada travel!
15 day trip that was magical. We normally book our vacations ourselves but we were first timers to Africa and decided to use Jacada. They exceeded our expectations in terms of choices and delivery of services. Tess knew the right “pace” of the trip (how long on safari, when to move back to Capetown, when to do wine country and then back on safari). She made all the right choices for us in experiences and accomadations. Even met us mid trip for a cup of tea! Highly recommend
We found Jacada Travel to be extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process and booking of our recent holiday to Ecuador and the Galapagos islands. Ciara, who were predominantly dealing with, was always very prompt replying to any queries and answered every question we had, however trivial! we received a lovely travel pack, were expertly handled throughout our various journeys and couldn’t fault any part of the service we received. An excellent company to deal with.
Until this recent trip to South East Asia we have always travelled 100% independently, but even by our standards, this was a pretty complicated journey to four countries in just under 4 weeks, involving almost every conceivable form of transportation. More than that, it was to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary, so we decided the stakes and expense were too high for us to go it alone. Kate, Alec and the team at Jacada and their partners at Trails of Indochina, who provided our superb guides- Phi in Vietnam, Sarom in Cambodia and Johnny in Laos and organised all the logistics on the ground, made it seamless and stress free and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.
My wife and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, which was entirely planned by Rachel Beck of Jacada. Rachel suggested the itinerary; planned the activities in each location, which she tailored very well to conform to our interests (as we had described them to her in phone conversations and e-mails); made all of our excellent hotel, travel and transfer arrangements; arranged for us to be met by a guide at the airport in each location, wisked through the terminal, and driven to our hotel; and arranged for us to have excellent, helpful, guides who led us through the planned activities in each location. Rachel’s itinerary turned out to be excellently planned and her colleagues at each location carried it out flawlessly. It was a pleasure to work with Rachel and Jacada –Rachel is extremely competent, and during the planning stage she was always very responsive, helpful, and accommodating — and I recommend her and Jacada without qualification.
They were amazing! Instead of fitting us into an already establishad tour, they allowed us to design the tour we wanted and accommodated all our eating quirks and also our budget!
I have just returned from South Africa, a trip that I have waited over 25 years to take, it has always been my life long dream to go on safari and Byron and his amazing team made it happen. I found Jacada Travel purely by accident while I was researching safari’s, as I was travelling alone it was very important to me to have the right agent working on my behalf. From the first time I contacted Byron to let him know what exactly I was looking for, the service has been nothing short of OUTSTANDING. He put together an itinerary for me that was privately guided, the accommodations were beyond exceptional. Firstly it was 4 nights at the Sea Five boutique hotel in Camps Bay, just outside of Capetown, then it was on to 2 nights at the Birkenhead House in Hermanus for shark diving and whale watching, the view of the ocean and breaching humpback whales from the Birkenhead House was absolutely breathtaking. Then it was on to the highlight of my trip, Chitwa Chitwa for 4 nights and 2 daily safari drives (a total of 8). This place is magical, from the view of elephants playing around in the waterhole from the deck of my lodge, to the abundance of animals I was privileged to see during my drives. On my first drive I was lucky enough to see 3 of the Big 5, elephant, lion and buffalo, the next morning drive I saw the other 2, leopard and rhino. I left a piece of my heart at Chitwa and will cherish my time spent there forever<3 The guides and hotel staff everywhere I stayed were phenomenal, and the service from Byron and Alec was like nothing I have ever experienced, right down to my little black travel book which I received about a month before my departure date, and to the little welcome notes that were waiting for me upon check in at my accommodations. Five stars doesn't seem like enough, I wish I could rate them much higher. My advice to anyone looking to book a trip of a lifetime is don't look any further than Jacada Travel, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Thank you Byron and Alec from the bottom of my heart for putting together this wonderful trip and giving me the memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life. <3
Our tour of Peru was terrific. Lima was a very pleasant surprise. Our morning tour guide took us to the main attractions in the old city and some special sites, particularly the oldest house in Lima which was not to be missed. Jacada was very helpful in arranging a car and driver for the afternoon to visit the fishing wharf and Christ statue overlooking the city, both highlights of our Lima Visit. Our adventure continued through the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco with a terrific guide, Johan Sueros. He was extremely accommodating and knowledgable. Very patient with us working through the challenges of the high altitudes and taking us to a few unscheduled locations such as the Cuscos market. Both train rides we took were exceptional (Hiram Bingham to Machu Picchu and the Andean Explorer) and our time at Lake Titikaka was stunningly beautiful. In all locations the service from Jacada was perfect. Always there to ensure our travel connections were flawless. All of our accommodations were high quality, especially the Casona Inkaterra in Cusco and the Titilaka on Lake Titikaka.
From the initial review of the Jacana website to contact with George our travel consultant we had big expectations… Peru was on our bucket list and our first trip to South America. It was without a doubt one of the most well organized, seamless travel experience we have had, and we are a well traveled couple. Our guides when we touched down in Peru for each leg of our journey were true professionals and clearly enjoy what they do and have a love and knowledge of their country that created the perfect environment as we travelled around the country. It really is a 5* guided travel service that makes you feel that at any turn you can be helped or guided with your every need. We had the privacy of beautiful hotels, private tours and being able to manage seeing places without going when it was busy with tourists. I know that people visit Peru because of the famous Machu Picchu however there are so many more magical places that will make us return to this warm and wonderful place, this was truly helped by the expert planning from Jacada. We will being using their travel planning services going forward.
This has to be the best holiday that we have ever taken. From the very beginning Jonny guided us through the booking of a spectacular itinerary to suit what we wanted to see and experience during our visit to Africa. We stayed in five different places during a two week period. Each location and accommodation were excellent, our favourite being the Lamai Serengeti Camp. The guides and accommodation staff were superb, we were made to feel very welcome and looked after. During the holiday we enjoyed day drives, night drives, a bush walk and a balloon ride then went to relax on the beach at the Breezes Beech Club in Zanzibar for four days before flying home. we would highly recommend Jacada Travel, in particular our African expert Jonny who booked everything for us, communicated with us throughout and made everything run like clockwork-thank you! Debs and Neil
Wonderful vacation to South Africa with Jacada Travel. Trip planning by Byron was thoughtful, innovative and responsive. We achieved all that we wanted to plus lots of additional experiences along the way that only true experts on South Africa would be able to recommend and provide. The trip itself was flawless. Every driver and private tour guide was on time, professional and friendly. Each of the hotels, resorts and safari camps was excellent. But equally as important as the luxury accommodations and gourmet food was the chance to see and experience aspects of the real South Africa and feel that we had a chance to meet its people and, however briefly, be part of its world. We have no hesitation in recommending Jacada Travel and will use them again in the future.
As a travel agent, I’ve booked several trips through Jacada and every experience has been a pleasure. All team members are extremely knowledgeable, professional and lovely in demeanor. I will surely continue to partner with Jacada to ensure seamless journeys for my clients.
If you want a seamless dream vacation the best travel agency for that is Jacada. Nothing but good things to say about this company and their employees. Especially Tessa van der Walt.
You created an unforgettable experience for our whole family; I have raved about you and Jacada to everyone! The personal notes at each stop, the prompt pick-ups, the beautiful accommodations, the caring staff made us feel very special. Thank you very much! We will be saving up for our next family adventure!!
Thanks to Byron and Alec with Jacada we had a fantastic trip visiting Cape Town, Sabi Sands, Zambia and Botswana. There recommendations on where to stay and excursions were perfect- from Manna Bay in Cape Town to Londolozi in Sabi Sands (saw the wild dogs) to Royal Chundu (Zambia) and finally to Duba Plains. Fantastic!!!
It’s one of the most relaxing vacations we had. The itinerary and locations were timed perfect. The accommodations and their location were amazing, we could watch animals while sipping our morning coffee or while eating dinner. The escort guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and we enjoyed interacting with him. The driver guides were great too. Together they made every effort irrespective of time to meet our expectations. The food was wonderful and the chefs catered to our needs specially me being a vegetarian. The flights between destinations were worth, they saved a lot on travel time. This is our second vacation with Jacada and I think they are best in customizing a vacation. Overall it was a dream come true Safari.
Never in a million years did my wife and I ever think we would visit Africa as it was not on our radar We have travelled quite a bit and had some brilliant experiences,Africa to us was just a giant Zoo,too touristy, not what we wanted ,because of our previous experience with a Jacada South American trip we new that if ever we did go to Africa then it would only be with Jacada,so we decided to swallow our pride and go for it During our pre trip chats with Byron it was obvious to us that this was going to be special. Not for Jacada the bog standard accomadation and tour guide.this turned out to be the trip of a lifetime purely and simply because of the quality of the guides who in my opinion could not be bettered,we saw things including a lion kill that other groups missed out on because of our guides patience and knowledge even the small things such as identifying every bird that we saw As far as accomodation goes,we do like our comfort and are discerning as far as hotels and lodges go the 4 lodges we stayed in were amazing once again down to the quality of the staff,we were overwhelmed by the friendliness and pure efficiency by everybody, maybe that is a natural trait of Tanzanians Listening to all of my friends and family who have done safaris in the past no matter how hard they could not convince us I do not think that any other company could top what Jacada did for us,they may not be cheap but you only get what you pay for is our experience in life What I think is also important is that my wife and I are in our mid sixties yet we found the whole safari experience with Jacada incredibly comfortable and a pure joy
we had a very beautiful trip and were very well taken care of every step of the way. Our guide in Peru, Johan was absolutely phenomenal!!
Going into our first safari to South Africa, my husband and I were a little intimidated. Throughout the planning phases, Jacada was very accommodating and made us feel at ease. Once we arrived to South Africa, everything was an absolute delight. From the transportation to the accommodation, everything went according to plan and flowed so smoothly. Traveling with Jacada gave us peace of mind throughout our entire trip and we were definitely pleasantly surprised. I would like to use them again in the future and will highly recommend it to others.
Some thoughts regarding the climb: The guides and staff were excellent. Jacada truly arranged a luxurious climb. My son and I had a support staff of 28 to accompany us on our climb. I have nothing but positive thoughts regarding the staff, meals and accommodations. It was as comfortable as possible, given the circumstances and challenges of climbing Kilimanjaro. As for the climb itself, there were two difficult aspects; a) breathing at the high altitude and b) the hike on the day you summit is very difficult and requires a positive attitude to make it to the top. Besides those, the hardest thing for me, was the temperature at night. We woke up one morning with ice covering our sleeping bags. But, we wore plenty of layers and managed to sleep. Overall it was a fantastic lifetime experience and being with my son, made it extra special. What can I say about the safari? It was beyond expectations in terms of luxurious accommodations and seeing – up close – all of the wildlife of the Serengeti. If I had to pick a favorite lodge, which is a difficult choice, I would select the experience at Faru Faru at the Grumeti Game Reserve. The accommodations were spectacular, the intimacy of the lodge we particularly enjoyed, and the staff was outstanding. We loved the experience of being able to go off road to view the animals. We were able to get so close and see the wildlife without binoculars. Sometimes a little too close. HAHA. However, having said that, please don’t take away any negative thoughts about Serengeti Lamai or Ngongorgoro Crater Lodge. All three were spectacular experiences. The Ngongorgoro Lodge was really something special. All three of our safari guides – we rate as excellent. They were polite, knowledgeable and took excellent care of us. We were extremely lucky in that we saw the big five, a cheetah kill, four river crossings (one that lasted over 30 minutes) and a crocodile kill. An outstanding safari and trip. The Legendary Lodge in Arusha was a great place to base our trip. The lodge and staff were outstanding and took very good care of us. Thank you for your help in arranging a fantastic trip.
I thought Jacada travel were very professional and helpful with anything from planning the trip ,transfer and what activities to do.
What an amazing trip to Africa! Jacada designed a truly amazing itinerary for us and accommodated our unique requests while also planning a few unexpected extraordinary extras for us like a surprise birthday safari dinner campout under the stars in Malawi’s MVuu park for our family and travel partners. Jacada exceeded our expectations for a luxury vacation in Africa: where we visited Rwanda and experienced 2 days of gorilla Trecking , Malawi where we were awed by the elephants and hippos on a boat safari, and Kenya where we caught the start of the great migration. We were greeted at the airport at each of our destinations and at all times were in the care of wonderful guides, drivers, and staff. It was truly stress free and although we covered a lot in 2 weeks, we came back rested, charged, and with fantastic memories. The accommodations were all wonderful, the guides very knowledgable and friendly, and the seamless flow of the trip perfect. Jacada accommodated all of our unique requests, while also putting in some wonderful experiences we wouldn’t have known to even ask for. They truly customize your vacation to your personal wants and needs, and provide exceptional service throughout from start to finish. Jacada’s expertise in personalized travel ensured we had an extraordinary vacation that exceeded expectations, and were filled with memories of a life time. We will definitely use Jacada again for our future travel. We were truly impressed and grateful. Thanks to Jonny for the planning, and Byron for the photography advice.
Our family had a wonderful experience at every location set up for our safari trip in South Africa. We were able to customize to our desires. Londolozi Camp was fantastic and we saw all the animals we had hoped to see. Moving on to Victoria Falls was a nice change of pace and a unique wonder to behold. Lastly in Botswana, our stay in the Okavango Delta was great. Both Stanley Camp and Chief Camp offered unique viewing experiences. We learned so much about animals seeing the big five and many many more. There is nothing like the star light sky or the glorious sunsets. The people were wonderful and the food very tasty. If you want a luxury but outdoor exhilarating experience this trip will exceed your expectations. Jacada did all this to make it possible. We thank them for all their organization and follow up during the trip to make sure all was going smoothly. Thanks to Jonny for his help in making this the trip of a lifetime.
As a self planner, I was a little skeptical about using a travel agency. However, for our Inca Trail hike it was necessary. Jacada Travel was perfect in every way. Our guide couldn’t have been any better. He had amazing knowledge and was so much fun. Everyone from our travel agent George to our porters to driver took excellent care of us. Our accommodations were 5 star. We’ll be using Jacada when we plan our safari!
Well planned and well executed.
Jacada are simply outstanding. From the first call right through to the end of your trip and beyond. The level of customer service is breath-taking. We dealt with Ciara and she could not have been more helpful. Her level of knowledge was excellent leading to a very relaxing, thoroughly enjoyable holiday. On first glance they may appear to be quite expensive, however it soon becomes apparent Jacada are outstanding value for money once you experience the end result. We could not hold them in higher regard nor recommend them enough. We will definitely book our next big trip through them again
We are a family of four, -including two adults plusTeenagers from New Zealand. We are widely travelled and have been frankly disappointed with the minimal level of service we have, in the past received from travel agents/planners, who have usually offered very much “predictable packages”, without any feedback/experience of the properties, and offering no information we couldn’t find out for ourselves. Our experience with Jacada was totally the opposite .We travelled to South Africa on a safari, and from the pre planning to arriving back home afterwards, every detail was taken care of with close attention to our requests and preferences, uniqueness, a bespoke character, and an indescribable level of luxury at the Lodge properties we stayed at.If you are price sensitive, Jacada’s costings will probably give you an initial shock, however, they do indicate price ranges on their beautiful website, and they work with luxury products and properties. Thanks to Jonny for putting the glamour back into travel- his enthusiasm is infectious, and his personal experience of these properties and of safari travel is very specialised- it is his core business, so you are dealing with someone whose total focus is on this type of travel. Jacada- highly recommended, a very positive experience- I wish they offered more destinations, as I loved the experience of being personally met, greeted and guided through the initial stages of arriving in a new country/city. We’ll be back!
Our trip to the Galapagos Islands was one of our top trips that we have taken. Everything was amazing! The boat and service was top notch. Once there everyday life is forgotten and you are in paradise with wildlife that you will not encounter so closely anywhere else. Working to schedule the trip with Jacada was so easy and they had the answers we needed. From beginning to the end of booking our trip, we felt it was going to be one of a lifetime and it certainly was. In the future, we would book another trip through Jacada.
My trip in Myanmar was fantastic. Jacada Travel did a superb job. I do a lot of travel to far-flung places and I’ve used a few tour packagers.p over the years. OThis trip to Myanmar was different because I wanted to travel solo and at my pace. I knew nothing about Jacada and discovered them on the Web. As an American female traveler in Asia, I felt i needed a little extra personal attention and a couple of special arrangements so I was willing to spend a few extra dollars for comfort and safety. My agent at Jacada proved to be excellent: She listened carefully to all my advance special requests–from budgetary concerns to unique sightseeing excursions. Most hotels were on the luxury side which was a treat; I was promptly met at every airport transfer by a professional rep with driver; and the recommended daily itinerary was stimulating and relaxing. I had highly intelligent and informative guides who were really wonderful to spend time with. Would I recommend Jacada Travel? –You bet I would.
Jacada has been so easy to work with, we felt they arranged a very personalised 11 night trip. We are first time Safari tourists and are not accustomed to outdoor environments for long periods of time. Pretrip: -Joyce@Jacada quickly assessed the type of accommodation we should be best paired with within our budget, and the order we should visit the camps, to give us the smoothest entry into the Safari life. I am now so grateful the bulk of the trip was not the bucket shower type of camp (I previously thought “no problem”!). -She personally visited these camps so if I had a particular question about the camp she could answer me almost immediately based on her experience. She also had a lot of little traveller tips for us to ask for/try at the camps to make the most of our stay. During the trip: -Jacada arranged for someone to meet us inside the airport and take us through the customs. -Joyce left us greeting notes at every camp, it was a very thoughtful touch. Also thank you Jacada for the little gift bag at the beginning of the trip, the fleece scarf was so handy, my husband used it every day on game drive as he underestimated how cold it would be and didn’t pack one. Somehow you thought one step ahead and guessed we might need it but forgot it?! -Joyce especially arranged alot of “extras”, we felt like special guests at all the lodges. e.g. private game drives at private concessions/camps that run shared game drives, upgraded rooms, we were always allocated the rooms with the best views, honeymoon dinners – there was another couple on honeymoon at the Crater Lodge, but their dinner table was not fancily decorated and by the fireplace like ours. – Zero logistic problems despite a hectic schedule – Assigning the very best guides who were funny, charming, and very experienced. We caught some spectacular moments, and we shared some very funny stories that will remain in our hearts forever. Post trip: -A very welcome back email, and a followup lunch to ensure the trip was what we expected!! It WAS, and so much more. Thank you to Joyce and the Jacada team for the professional and personalised adventure.
On July, 2015 our family traveled to Iceland with Jacada. It was by far the best trip we have ever gone on. Tours and activities were perfectly organized, individually tailored to our interests and every day was awesome. Our guide, Eythor, was incredibly knowledgeable, listened to us and added unique activities based on our interests (including finding a local zoo for our boys once he saw how much they liked animals and a pizzeria once we started feeling a bit homesick for NY food). I will definitely travel with Jacada next time around.
Jacada planned and executed our vacation to Myanmar and Thailand with brilliance and perfection. We were so happy with Kate, our planner, and Alec our concierge. Myanmar is a tricky country to navigate, and their plans, guides, agendas, and hotels were all perfect. Arrangements were flawless. We can’t wait to use Jacada again!
Jonny at Jacada helped my friend and I create the trip of a lifetime! Every detail was meticulously planned. I would recommend them in a heartbeat and can’t wait to use them again for my next adventure.
Everything was superb, except for a guide in Franschoek named Leslie. She immediately shared her “world view” on controversial topics without knowing us at all; it was very off-putting. She also lacked basic knowledge of several local topics, with a typical response of “you’ll have to Google that,” rather than saying she would find out and get back to us later in trip.
We wanted an amazing trip for our honeymoon to Malaysia and Borneo, we contacted Jacada Travel and from that moment on our travel advisor, Rachel was extremely helpful. She planned our trip based on what we had said we were looking for and even suggested things we’d not heard of to try. Our experience from start to finish on the trip was just fantastic. All of our guides were waiting for us as expected whenever we moved to a new place and the guides were so passionate and friendly which really made or whole experience special.
My family and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Costa Rica. George and everyone at Jacada were so quick to respond to any questions. They listened carefully to what I said we wanted to do on this trip and planned a great itinerary for us. Jacada made having a memorable, amazing family trip so easy and enjoyable for us. I would highly recommend them to anyone! We will be using them again, for sure.
Everything was perfect start to finish. I was well looked after and everything happened as the Rachel had outlined. The hotels were excellent and the tour guide was always well prepared. It could not have been better planned. I had an amazing time!
From the very first communication Ciara and Susanne were a delight to work with. Our initial inquiry was for a 3 week trip to Peru and the Galapagos. The proposed program submitted to us was the right length, and it took two revisions to set the quality and standard of accommodation we wanted. The Galapagos offers a variety of ships. Wanting something larger we settled on the Silver Galapagos which offered a range of creature, that met our needs. From our arrival in Lima until our departure from Quito we were met by fantastic guides, and drivers. The knowledge of the guides and service provided everywhere was terrific. Every hotel booked was far better than expected, and the service everywhere was perfect. Little things like receiving a personal note at every hotel from Ciara with personal recommendations of things to see and do, and local restaurants to visit was an added bonus, and a great welcome everywhere we went. Personal service and detail is something Jacada have perfected. Our travel experience was nothing short of amazing. Everyone wants that dream vacation. Dream vacations have, however to be first created. Ciara, Susanne and the Jacada team did that for us. “Brilliant”
Incredible honeymoon at Fazenda Catuçaba and Pousada Picinguaba through Jacada Travel thanks to Emily Opie My wife and I had an unbelievable honeymoon at Fazenda Catuçaba and Pousada Picinguaba for 8 nights in April. Our Latin American Travel Designer from Jacada Travel, Emily Opie, was absolutely incredible. She worked with us for months to ensure we got the perfect trip. We had plans to be near Sao Paulo for a few days after the honeymoon, so Ms. Opie scoured the South American continent for places for us to go. Our trip was a bit difficult to plan because we were bringing our dog with us. Emily worked so hard to try and make Argentina work, but even with a doctor’s note, no domestic airlines in Argentina would allow us to book, so she went back to the drawing board and found us these fabulous two spots in Brazil, that turned out to be heaven on earth. I don’t even want to know the number of hours and the contacts Emily had to make, but she never gave us and she was so kind. Upon our arrival at the Sao Paulo airport we were greeted by a driver, who allowed us to the opportunity to go to the bathroom and exchange money. We didn’t touch our baggage. We took the drive out of the city into the countryside that eventually led us onto a dirt road to Fazenda Catuçaba. When we entered the gates of the Fazenda we knew we had reached paradise. We were immediately greeted by the hotel manager, Marcel who told the driver where to take our luggage and then led us to the main house for snacks and drinks. When we went to our room we found our bags put away and rose petals scattered all about the room. Our room was fabulous and very spacious. We had no issues with mosquitos, so we were able to leave our windows open at night to allow the cool breeze in. If needed we would have been provided fans for warmer nights and a fire on cooler nights, but neither were necessary. We had a very comfortable and large King size bed and a beautiful bathroom with both a large two person shower and deep tub. I’ve seen reviews of people complaining that you have to throw toilet paper in the garbage can, but the garbage was always cleaned so it wasn’t an issue at all. I applaud the Fazenda for working hard to protect the environment. Though we were given a nice snack upon our arrival we went and had a late lunch in the dining room. We were always given a little nook that was to itself so that we could have a romantic private dining experience. Our only dining guest was the occasional friendly cat that would come by for a visit. Lunch was served either in the dining room, the porch, or in the front yard under the trees. Our lunches and dinners ranged from zucchini soup, seasoned beets, okra, carrot, green bean, and potatoes amongst other things. We had great vegetable crepes, baked chicken, fish, shish kabobs, pork chops, and the best steak we’ve ever eaten. The desserts were incredible (pies, orange cheesecake, puddings, caramel drizzled bananas, apple tart (which I had to get seconds of)). Our meals were often prepared by Helo, who was a fabulous cook. She knew enough English to translate for us what we were eating (we weren’t familiar with some of the local vegetables and soups) and was so friendly to us. We were not given a rigorous schedule and were allowed to do as we pleased when we pleased. Dinner was served over a wide period of time, giving you the flexibility to eat when you wanted. Dinner was always several courses and was far more than we could ever eat. It always included a plain lettuce salad, generally a type of soup, a main course, side dishes, and a fabulous dessert. We were asked on several occasions by Marcel, if we were okay eating a certain meal prior to them preparing it. An added bonus was that we had no cell service on the property or phones in our rooms. This was the ideal place to get away and disconnect. This disconnection proved to be part of what made the Fazenda so great. Therefore don’t come here if you plan on keeping up with your work e-mails, skyping friends, or watching YouTube, because it’s not going to happen. You’ll be all the better because of that too. We realized on the first night that the crickets would serenade us to sleep every night and that was all we needed. Some have complained that the cost of activities or meals was expensive, but by going through Jacada everyone was included, therefore we didn’t have to worry about cutting back on certain things or not doing certain things. If we wanted a snack, we got a snack. If we wanted to go on an extra trail ride, we did so. Prior to our daily activities we would have a wonderful breakfast outside on the porch, which always involved the freshest fruits, eggs, and the most wonderful coffee and juice ever. The key to the meals is that everything is freshly grown and made on site and doesn’t have any chemicals or preservatives. We fell in love with horse riding, which we did nearly every day and in fact was the core reason we extended our stay at the Fazenda by an additional day. My wife’s horse was Catazuza (which she requested each day) and I rode two horses, one whose name was Paradiso. We were accompanied by our fabulous guide Juliette, who was so great to allow us the liberty to free ride since we are experienced riders. We on various days took trail rides that took us through the mountains, other farms, the rain forest, meadows with grazing cows, farmers homes where we were greeted by their dogs, little fields and valleys, and a perfectly hidden little gem of a waterfall, which was an awesome place to swim and relax under the falls. We even got to ride through the town of Catuçaba, which was a lot of fun on horseback. On two occasions we had picnic snakes that Marcel or a member of his staff prepared for us and had ready for us to enjoy. The tranquility of the rides was heavenly. Whether it was the parakeets singing and flying around us to the locals that we met on their farms, there was a sense of peace and old world charm you just don’t get back in the states. It seems that each day we had snacks around 11am and then around 2pm we a full lunch. Even on the day we took our hike to Nuclo Santo Virginia (one of the forests in the Atlantic rainforest), our English speaking guide Fabrico, led us several miles into the forest before he unpacked a wonderful picnic for us to enjoy on the rocks of the river. We never ever were hungry that is for sure. We loved the lunch that was prepared for us at the lake. We spent the afternoon there and loved that the staff had prepared us blankets to tan next to the lake and a completely stocked guest house with additional snacks and drinks. Granted with as much as we had at lunch we didn’t need any snacks. We were given the option of having a driver come back and get us, but we chose to walk the 2/3 mile walk back to the Fazenda as it was so pretty. On one afternoon Marcel and Juliette arranged for us to go on a cattle drive, so we helped herd the cattle up the mountain from the Fazenda to a mountain top pasture. We were able to ride along with the cowboys and help herd the cattle past a school bus and keep them on the path. On this afternoon we went from there straight to the mountain top for our sunset picnic. Juliette laid out our wine and snacks and allowed us time to watch the sun set as the clouds came over the mountain and engulfed us with a wonderful breeze and beautiful surroundings under the really unique architectural designs. Juliette was so kind that she let us stay later than we probably were supposed to, so we ended up coming off the mountain by the moonlight and arriving back at the Fazenda long after dark. This was probably a highlight of the trip and an experience my wife will never forget. We loved hearing the horses clip clopping on the cobblestone as we came back to the Fazenda that was already lit up by the gas lights that the staff refilled each day. We took an independent hike around the property one day. The only drawback, which wasn’t a real problem, was that the directions weren’t very clear, so we made a wrong turn, but after climbing under a fence or two we got back on the right path. You did go through pastures with high grass and bulls and cows, but none of the ever posed a problem and to me just added to the experience. We stopped back by the lake and grabbed some water and snacks and chilled out before we came back to the Fazenda for lunch. Marcel arranged for Nilton to drive us to Sao Luis do Paratinga for an afternoon of self-touring. Though it would have been helpful to have a guide, the town really wasn’t big enough to warrant one. Nilton didn’t speak much English, but we agreed to meet back on the town square at a certain time and he gave us his card with his phone number in case we had any problems. The town was a nice little town, but didn’t have much to offer, so I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you just want to be amongst the local town people, and walk around the shops. The drives to and from the Fazenda were always neat (though a bit fast, winding, and bumpy) we always enjoyed the various things that would greet us in the road ranging from horse riders to free roaming cattle and mules. For our final night the Fazenda arranged for us to go to a rodeo in Lagoinha. Our driver took us to the rodeo, which didn’t start until 11pm. He helped us get through the entrance since no one there spoke English and he waited until the parking lot until we were finished. Marcel even met us there to make sure we were okay and had a great time. It was very safe and there were lots of families there. It was an awesome date night and we had so much fun watching the bull riding and then dancing at the concert they had afterward with a live band. Fazenda Catuçaba was a heavenly place and all the people (Marcel, Emily, Juliette, Nilton, Fabrico, and Helo) made it the greatest place we’ve ever stayed. Marcel is a second to none, top rated, hotel manager. He had to get over burdened as he was one of the few people who could speak English, and all of the guests seemed to speak English and utilize him for translation, but even though he was there at 8am until 9pm (and in the case of the rodeo until at least 2am) he never seemed upset, always worked hard to make sure we were taken care of, and always told us when we asked about something, “yes, it is possible.” He was a true pleasure and great asset to the Fazenda. We spent three days at Pousada Picinguaba as the second part of our honeymoon after spending five days at Fazenda Catuçaba. We had a great driver who took us from the Fazenda right to the Pousada. The Pousada is located at the end of the road out of Ubatuba. This quaint little fishing village wasn’t bustling with tourists and traffic and had just one street in and out. The road ended at a place where the fishermen bring their daily catch and there was a little elevated walkway that took us to our house. We had a very private 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom house nestled on the winding pathway under the trees above the beach. The views were amazing and the hammock on the porch was luring especially thanks to the sound of the waves and the birds nearby. The house was filled with lots of books to read and a nice music collection. The refrigerator was filled with various drinks that we enjoyed. Some have complained that the cost of activities or meals was expensive, but by going through Jacada everything was included, therefore we didn’t have to worry about cutting back on certain things or not doing certain things. If we wanted a snack, we got a snack. If we wanted to go on an extra excursion, we did so. On a few afternoons we would order off the menu and the staff would bring us snacks of shrimp, rice, refried beans, grilled vegetables, pasta, bread, and various desserts of fruit and chocolate (so a snack was actually a full-fledged meal). On our first afternoon we took a kayak out on the water and watched the fishermen pull in their days catch in their nets, as well as see some sea turtles come up and greet us. We weren’t as pleased by the meals at the Pousada as we were at the Fazenda, but they were still good. Some of the more exotic seafood wasn’t our thing (baby octopus and fish soup for instance), but it was buffet style next to the pool so you did get all you could eat. We didn’t care as much for the fish that we had each night, but again it was still nice dinners and the desserts were always A+ (loved the key lime and chocolate tarts). I presume that the lighting was only by small candles on each table to keep from having issues with mosquitos, but it did require us to use the flashlights on our phones to see what we were eating. That being said we never had any issues with the mosquitos. We have read where they were a big issue with others, but maybe the time was just right for us (April 12-15). We even told the staff they didn’t need to turn down the mosquito nets on our bed each night because they were no issue. It was really nice coming in from dinner each evening and having our beds prepared, shutters closed, and the air conditioning nice and cool. The master bedroom having its own air conditioning system with a remote control thermostat was a huge plus for us. They also were quick to remedy any problems we had. We were billed for two drinks that we had received one evening, but after explaining to them that they were not what we thought they would be and were not made to our liking, they didn’t charge us for them. That was very kind of them because it really was a “lost in translation” sort of thing where we asked for what we called a Strawberry daiquiri, only to find out after making one they don’t have strawberries and the drink they made us had salt along the rim and more of a tequila like taste. The biggest highlight of staying at the Pousada was the half day excursion on their large schooner. We were taken for a wonderful trip by our captain to various beaches and islands. The young waiter that accompanied us made sure that we were completely taken care of and had all we wanted to drink. He was even able to point out certain things about various places we passed by. We absolutely loved the first island we stopped at. We were given the option to swim to shore or be taken by a small motor boat, which we did. We were able to lie out and tan on the sand and also go snorkeling. The snorkeling was really good because we saw lots of neat fish and some corral. The water was so clear you could always see the bottom. On this island there were probably no more than 7 other people there when we were, but beyond that we were by ourselves. We were taken to another island where we got to walk around on the sand and play in the water completely alone, until the captain called us back to the ship for lunch. We had wonderful sandwiches and salad. The only thing we didn’t like was the cold fish, but that was just us. They had by far the best watermelon I’ve ever eaten. We did feel slightly rushed on the cruise, but we were able to get the captain to stop at one last beach where we collected sand dollars. The Pousada arranged for Rosa to take us to Paraty for a half day excursion with a great English speaking guide that had been reserved with Paraty tours. It was a neat town preserved in its original form. We had Italian for lunch at a nice little restaurant that our guide took us to. The Pousada also provided us with a wonderful massage the last evening we were there. We had to leave around 4:00 in the morning to get to an event near Sao Paulo and the staff made sure they took our luggage to the car and even prepared us some sandwiches to eat along the way. Our driver to our next location drove us the five hour drive safely and after dropping off my wife took me to pick up my rental car and then proceeded to work with the rental car agency to make sure that I was taken care of and had the right car. Throughout our journey we were given messages from our travel specialist at Jacada, Emily Opie, asking if we were doing well, and if there was anything we needed. Even though we went elsewhere on our trip for an event that lasted five days, Emily made sure that we had a car pick us up to take us to the airport to get home. We arrived at the pickup spot an hour late, but our driver was there waiting for us patiently and knew that we were pressed for time, so he drove extra swiftly to ensure we got on our flight. He even was very helpful in ensuring that we got our rental car returned and that they car agency we used for the few days we were independently travelling didn’t take advantage of us.
I appreciated the pesonal attention we received from our travel agent, Tess. She was attentive to our particular travel needs and responded to our tastes. We had a wonderful trip to South Africa and Zambia, which included some of the most comfortable accomodations I’ve ever encountered. Most importantly, Tess was always available to answer questions and willing to answer all questions, and make changes when we wanted them. All of the places we stayed were ‘high end’ but they were incredible value for the cost. Absolutely wonderful! I would definitely recommend this travel service, and Tess, in particular.
We have traveled extensively in Western Europe and North America and have always self booked our own tours and accommodations with great success. As experienced as we are, we were out of our comfort zone with Africa. This was our first experience working with a travel agent and Jacada Travel was simply outstanding. Our agent, Tess did an excellent job interviewing us about our interests and travel style and created a spectacular, fully customized agenda for us. Every detail was covered from transfers at the airport to top notch private tours, and excellent restaurant recommendations. This was one of the best vacations we have ever been on, largely due to Jacada’s planning and execution. They truly brought our dream African vacation to life! We are already thinking about planning a future trip to South America or Antarctica with Jacada. We highly recommend Jacada travel for your African adventure!
Without reservation, my wife and I would highly recommend Byron at Jacada to plan an African trip. His instincts as to what we’d enjoy, his choice of recommended accommodations, and his personal attention to detail were unparalleled.
It was a jam packed and complex trip but everything when very smoothly. All the guides were very knowledgeable and professional.
I would give Jacada Travel the BEST of the BEST that I could! I and my wife took a 2 months around the world trip with Jacada travel in February – April 2015. We spent one month in South America and Antarctica and the rest in Europe. S.America Chile – Torres Del Paine. Ecuardor – Quito – The Galapagos. Peru – Lima – Cusco – Machu Picchu. and And Antarctica! Then we go to Switzerland. Iceland Chasing the Northern Light with our private plane!!! And continue to Norway before arrive home in Bangkok! Everything was ince perfect and you could not feel the JACADISM feelings anywhere else!!!! That is what so special about JACADA! You feel safe and at the same time you feel so privileged. And our travel designer Jobi, and Joyce, there are so thoughtful and always think ahead for what we need and what would make it more special for us!!! I declared to be their life long clients! We love Jacada! And if you want a life time experience give them a call!!
I had a great experience with Jacada. Their tour guides and drivers were friendly and professional. There were no issues as we moved from one area of Brazil to another. Communication between guides in different locations was seamless. Jacada delivered on all that was promised and I would use them again without reservation.
We just came back from our two week honeymoon in Vietnam and had a fabulous time thanks to Jacada’s Rachel and Alex. They were both very attentive and responsive to our needs from the beginning and made trip planning easy and fun. They were even able to make several last minute changes to our trip after we changed our mind on a few things. They never got upset and were so accommodating. They even did everything in their power to make sure those changes did not cost us a thing! Now that’s customer service! Would use them again in a heartbeat!
Would definitely use Jacadatravel again, our trip was wonderful and fulfilled all our expectations…….and more.
We went to Jacada Travel to plan a trip of a lifetime to South Africa and Victoria Falls for our multi generational family and they exceeded our expectations. Every lodge they chose for our family was the perfect mix of comfortable luxury with great staff who introduced us to the culture and spirit of Africa. We celebrated 3 birthdays during our trip and Samantha was so attentive to details that every celebration was perfect. They also made great use of our time so we didn’t waste hours over nighting in Johannesburg waiting for a flight. Thank you Jacada Travel!
From planning through execution, Jacada did an excellent job on my adventure trip to Thailand,Laos and Cambodia. They even introduced me to a Mekong River cruise which was like icing on the cake. I would use Jacada again for sure.
Travel Specialists that provide all the logistics for your dream trip. Essentially you tell them the dream trip you have in your mind and they put it together along with suggestions that you may not have thought of. A representative is waiting at airports to help with any issues including missed flights which is a great help if you are unable to speak the language. Guides and excursions are provided to fit your needs, but are flexible as it is a private journey. The dream trip with out any of the work doesn’t come cheap, but is worth every dollar spent.
Tessa, has the impeccable ability to plan an exciting itinerary. We had eight different airline flights, and the planned assistance and transfers at each airport was very helpful and appreciated. Each location we stayed had luxury accommodations with a wonderful restaurant. It was great experiencing such elegance and style. Riding the Blue Train was a unique opportunity – fantastic food, amazing views and comfortable accommodations. This was opulence on rails. The beautiful Royal Malewane safari was marvelous. We had spectacular drives and was able to see the Big 5 the first two drives. We also enjoyed a massage at the lovely spa. The lodge is lavish, with the dining area outside with a view of the surrounding bush. We had an amazing trip with some wonderful memories. We highly recommend Jacada Travel.
We used Jacada travel for the first time when we decided to use them to book our honeymoon. Overall, we had a very great experience! Jen (our travel designer) did a really great job of listening and choosing the perfect itinerary for our dream honeymoon to Guayaquil, Galapagos, Quito and Otavalo. Throughout the trip there were extra details that made us feel special. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I would’ve liked to have more details up front, such as the exact times we would be meeting up with our guides or the times of our flights to and from the Galapagos. It was my understanding that we would receive a complete packet with this information when we met our first travel guide. As the vacation progressed we would only receive details for the following day the night before. If you are Type A personality my suggestion would be to get more details up front…
As a result of the expert guidance and planning by Jonny at Jacaranda Travel, everything we asked for happened more or less like magic! We were met and guided throughout our South African adventure which was absolutely great, as we never had to worry if we were going to get our flights on time or be in the right place at the right time. The venues were fantastic and everything we were promised came true. I would recommend this company to anyone – actually we already have!!
We booked at the very last minute a 3 weeks family vacation in Vietnam. We did not have the time to prepare the trip so we decided to go with a travel agency. It was our first experience with that kind of trip but we surely will do it again! We traveled with two kids (7 and 12) from Canada and we wanted everything to go smoothly. With the help of Kate and Alec, everything went without a glitch. All the Hotels were to our taste and the planned activities pleased us all. We traveled from the north, Hanoi to Ha Long Bay then to Hue, Hoi An, Saigon and then Nha Trang for a week a the beach. The beach resort was amazing, secluded, reminding us of a vietnamese fishing village but with 5 stars accommodation. Jacada offered a personalized and highly professional service from the first e-mail contact to the welcome back home phone call. We could have booked with a canadian travel agency but Jacada website attracted us and we dont regret it at all… We are thinking of a safari in south Africa and Jacada surely will be part of our plan! Thanks again
Our private tour of Vietnam arranged by our travel agent Joyce Choi at Jacada Travel was excellent. We did a 3-day 2-night cruise at Halong Bay, followed by a 3-day private tour of Hanoi. Joyce helped us arrange a private cooking class with a local chef at his home. He brought us to the local market and demonstrated the cooking of several popular local dishes. Everything was pre-arranged for us before we arrived the cruise and the hotels. Both before and after the trip, there was close communication between the agent and us to make sure everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend Jacada Travel to my family and friends.
Must see places are Hoi An and Halong Bay in Vietnam, Luang Prabang in Laos. The crowds around Angkor Wat at sunrise are a pain
Loved Myanmar–if we would change the trip we would leave out certain areas and stay longer in other areas.Myanmar is a fascinating country and there is much to see and do. Our favorite places were Lake Inle, Bagan and of course the lake area. We only had one full day in Mandalay and could have stayed at least one more day. Whenever we arrived at a new hotel there was a note from Kate which was very sweet.
Jacada did a very nice job of putting together a vacation package that my husband and I will not soon forget. The rep, Jonny, listened to what we had in mind and worked with me to arrange all the details. He and his team were quick to respond to emails and made the process quite painless! The accommodations were all brilliant (really, beyond expectations) and the local tour guides very informative and personable. My only constructive criticism is that the vendors on the ground varied in quality. Willro (the outfit in Johannesburg) was amazing: They were prompt, flexible, and the people were all super knowledgeable and helpful. Ilios, who provided drivers in the Cape Town area, was more hit or miss. But that is picking nits. Everything else was just lovely.
My mom and I took a mother-daughter trip to Thailand and Cambodia as a last hurrah before I get married. Jacada and specifically Rachel Beck were amazing to work with. Rachel ensured we got the perfect mix of outdoor adventure, culture and history. Every step of the way the representatives of Jacada were friendly, helpful, flexible and comforting. We were taken care of at every turn so that we could simply focus on having a once in a lifetime experience. Specifically to the trip itself, I would HIGHLY recommend visiting the Elephant Nature Park and taking a Thai cooking class. I have no hesitation recommending Jacada and Rachel to friends and family!
I dealt with a lady called Rachel Beck (she really should get a job training tour operators, first class). The cost of the trip wasn’t cheap but my partner and myself felt it was worth every pound we spent. From start to finish this is one classy company, nothing was too much trouble. Some companies take your money and that’s the end of it, not Jacada. Small example, after each excursion they organised we got a phone call to make sure we were satisfied with the service they provided. I could easily write several pages on the great service we received but I don’t have the time. In short if you want to spend your hard earned money on a trip of a lifetime with a company that goes the extra mile stop thinking about it and book with them. I promise you it will be money well spent.
I went with Jacada Travel to Costa Rica for 12 days. I had used Jacada a few years ago on an excellent trip to Patagonia and Easter Island. Arranging the trip went smoothly and my agent, George, always seemed to be available even though I’m in NY and he’s in England. My flight was four hours late in arriving in Leberia but my car and driver was there and ready. All the hotels that George recommended were wonderful with very decent food and terrific service. The same for all of my guides who were on time, knowledgeable, and very aware of me. It was a wonderful experience.
We were very happy with the service we received at Jacada Travel. It was a pleasure to arrange our trip with George, and then everything worked flawlessly. Hotels were excellent, as were the guides, and the drivers. Notes from George along the way were a nice touch. No complaints!
With less than a month’s lead time, I decided to spend a week in Vietnam in early February. I found Jacada via a Google search, read the reviews, and decided to give them a try. Best travel decision I’ve ever made. Kate Edwards described a variety of destinations and activities based on her first-hand experience, and together we tailored the perfect itinerary for me. All accommodations were excellent, and on-the-ground guides were knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Best of all, I got to do exactly what I wanted, not what someone else planned for me. The end result was a trip filled with memories that will last a lifetime. Could not be more grateful to Kate, Alec, and the rest of the team at Jacada.
This is the second time of having Ciara from Jacada Travel to organize our vacation to Latin America (Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia). We had wonderful time for both trips. Right from the beginning, Ciara listened to our needs and made lots of excellent suggestions in refining our vacation plan. She always put herself into our shoes and made valuable recommendations. On the ground, Jacada in-country supports are always attentive and responsive. Ciara keeps tab of our progress along our journey and made necessary refinement to our travel plan to ensure what is best for us. After we’ve engaged her at the start of the vacation planning, we know all we need to do is to sit back, relax, knowing that the only thing we need to do is to enjoy a fabulous vacation ahead.
Jacada Travel arranged a memorable experience in Peru. The whole trip went very smoothly and the hotels were as expected, and even exceeded expectations. The personal service from the local guides was exceptional! We would highly recommend Jacada Travel and Ciara Owens.
We were thrilled with our experience in South Africa. Jacada arranged the entire itinerary for us and there was not one flaw in the choice of lodging, accommodations, flights to and from the lodges, transportation to and from the hotels, or service overall. All in all, a magnificent trip!! Yes, indeed we saw the Big Five and many other animals also! Kudos to Byron at Jacada!!!
Byron and his Jacada team were amazing. Everything went as planned and our family had the best time.
All aspects of the trip was expertly handled. The lodges where we stayed were beautiful, the food was wonderful, all staff were helpful and friendly and finally, our guides were the best and showed us the animals and the wild beauty of Botswana, Zambia and Kruger National Park. It was a trip we will never forget and we look forward to another adventure with Jacada Travel. Finally, Sam who organized our trip was very knowledgeable, charming and very helpful. We cannot recommend Jacada highly enough.
Ciara at Jacada did a superb job in designing or organizing a family trip to Chile. It was one of the best trips ever.
We felt educated and well taken care of. Guides were knowledgeable and kind. Changes happened and everyone worked hard to accommodate us.
Everything thing was amazing and beyond expectation. The team are very professional and evrything was well organized even the small details. Geroge Warren and Sussan were amazing and so helpful, they are simply the best.
Great service right from the begining. George Warren was fabulous. Helped with every detail. The trip was wonderful. Hotels amazing in great locations. Only one exception, hotel in Valparaiso, didnt meet same expectation but emailed George and he helped out right away. Regardless it did not detract from enjoyment of trip. Great guides, superb location of other hotels , great food, and excursions. He definitely knew Chile and Patagonia! I was not sure how this would turn out as this was my first expereince with Jacada, but it was really amazing! And we have travelled a lot with many tour companies. We will use Jacada again, and recommend to others, but I have to say, it was mainly because of George’s excellent service!
Most wornderful experience. We used Jacada travel for the first time following recommendation from one colleague. This experience by far was the best from all we used before. From the first e-mail trhough the last contact the agence consistently demonstrated very high level of service.
George and staff did a great job arranging a custom trip for us and another couple. Just the right balance of comfort and adventure
Our experience with Jacada setting up our Safari, Wine Country and Cape Town adventure went off with only a few small glitches . The hotels were first class with only a small hiccup at The Bay in Cape Town. They weren’t ready for group of 16 and left us sitting around for a couple hours in the lobby. While they treated us to coffee and soda, it was quite an inconvenience. On the other hand, our lodging in Kruger, Simbambili, was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. The Residence in Johannasburg was incredible and the service impeccable. The transportation was good not great. They didn’t have enough seats and luggage storage on one of the legs and that was very uncomfortable for some. Other than that, I was very impressed by the timing of airport pick-ups. Overall, I would highly reccomend Jacada for any trips. I will be using them for my next adventure to Africa, no questions asked!
We planned our honeymoon to South America through Jacada Travel. I wouldn’t normally use a travel company but we wanted a stress free trip with everything organised so we could just relax and enjoy it. Emily helped us plan our dream trip with lots of advice from her experience in Argentina and Brazil. She took lots of information about our interests and combined that with our ideas. We ended up with a perfectly balance honeymoon staying in amazing hotels and lots of fun activities and well needed relaxation time. The guides in each location were brilliant and tailored each trip to our interests. There were lots of extra special touches which made it very personal and memorable. The only bad thing, we had to come home! I couldn’t recommend Jacana enough and will definitely be using them again in the future! Thank you for an amazing trip!
We had a nine day window to fill in between tours that we had booked previously. I chose Jacada Travel from the Internet by googling tours in South America. After submitting my request on line I was very surprised how quick I had a response from Jacada agent. (Emily Opie) from there on the booking procedure by email and telephone was extremely easy and professional. After explaining what we required and informing Emily that we didn’t know much about South America. In no time she came back with options that were tailor made to fit our time frame and requirements. The actual tour involved several flights through Argentina and Brazil so therefore many different guides. Every guide was absolutely fantastic punctual, informative and easy to converse with. We have traveled the world a lot in the last seven or eight and the guides were definitely the best we have en-counted. The standard of accommodation was excellent with some being off the beaten track which was great. You can see that they were hand picked as the hospitality at everyone made us feel so welcome and at home. The little notes and gifts from Emily along the way also gave the tour a personal touch. We will definitely use Jacada Travel again and will have no hesitation in recommending them to our friends. .
We had an amazing trip. Everything was well organized. I recommend Jacada highly.
Exceptional from start to finish. The staff in London and over in Peru were all incredibly helpful, knowledgable and went beyond the expectations on every level. Very impressed. I will be traveling with them again.
This is my second trip planned by Jacada. Both trips have been fantastic- wonderful adventures with superb lodging, excellent guides and a mixture of off the beat adventure . I found my travel planner Kate available at all times and she was a wealth of information. She was able to contour our trip to suit us perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend Jacada to anyone looking for a seamless trip which combines adventure, luxury and attention to detail.
Usage: Romantic, worry free and full service vacation in Argentina and Chile with main focus on a mix of trekking with luxury in Patagonia celebrating our 25 year marriage anniversary and my wife’s 50th birthday. Planning: Jacada Travel immediately responded to original inquiry. George Warren has extensive living and travel experience in Patagonia. George spent the time to fully comprehend my goals for the trip and our interests. He recommended an itinerary that included several areas of both countries. We worked through narrowing down the scope to a workable ~20 day vacation. He worked with me to enable the surprise presentation to my wife on Valentine’s Day, 2014. Communication: George was always available for calls and monitored email nearly 24 hours/day. When he was out on vacation, there was a knowledgeable representative that immediately responded to my inquiry. I never felt that there was a gap in coverage. I never felt that the time delta between U.S. and London was a problem. Accommodations: Jacada Travel truly is the source for high end accommodation recommendations. Every place we stayed throughout the two countries was unique and either met or exceeded expectations set by George during our discussions. Execution: I cannot say enough about the successful execution of the travel experience. All the people with whom we interacted during our trip were first class. The guides, drivers, hotel contacts, etc. were all timely and reliable. We felt like special guests especially upon check-in at a new hotel we would receive a personalized gift or note from George@Jacada Travel. It is the extra touches that set this team apart from others. George insisted on getting us into a couple of restaurants in Buenos Aires and Ushuaia – if he makes a recommendation…take it! Follow-up: Jacada Travel continues to be in touch with us to ensure that all aspects of the trip met expectations. I can tell that they want to continue to improve. You can truly trust your most treasured vacation planning to Jacada Travel.
Jonny helped us plan a trip of a lifetime and the most spectacular honeymoon. We enjoyed 4 days hiking, touring and eating our way through beautiful Cape Town before heading to Sabi Sands for some rest and relaxation while on safari. It was such an incredible experience. One of the best parts of our trip was visiting Livingstone, Zambia and Victoria Falls. We had a blast exploring the mighty Zambezi River whether it be by sunset cruise, fishing trip, or white water rafting. Jonny made sure every detail was absolutely perfect. From the transfers and tours to the accommodations, everything felt so special and like the trip was truly planned just for us, with our needs in mind. I would highly recommend Jacada Travel to anyone looking to take a trip of a lifetime.
I have already submitted my lengthy review about our trip to our trip coordinator Ciara who did a wonderful job! This is our second time using Jacada for travel in Latin America. While we had a few hiccups it did not impact us too badly and our experience. These hiccups were not due to Jacada but the local agency in Chile. The local guides were fantastic and always wanted to go out of their way to make our visit to their country perfect.
Just returned from an incredible holiday in Myanmar thanks to Jacada Travel and Kate Edwards in particular. This was my second experience working with Jacada. After a wonderful holiday in Argentina in 2013, I reached back out Jacada to plan a holiday in SE Asia. I hadn’t originally thought about Myanmar as a destination but after a few conversations with Kate and feedback from her own holiday there last spring, I was convinced to book travel there. I am so glad that I did. Myanmar is in one word an amazing place. The scenery, the sights, the food, and most of all the people make Myanmar a special place that much of the world has yet to see. From my arrival in Mandalay to my departure nearly three weeks later from Yangon, every detail of my was planned and executed perfectly by Kate and Jacada. Some of the most memorable aspects of my Myanmar holiday: 1. Trekking and home stay in the northern Shan state: Three days and two nights trekking with a local guide through the mountains and villages of the northern Shan state. Spent both nights in a local home. An amazing and unique opportunity to see the true Myanmar. 2. Candle light market in Hsipaw: Experienced an open air market lit only by candle light. Every day from 3:30am to sunrise, locals sell fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish. 3. The temples of Mandalay: Saw several of the most incredible Buddhist sites in all of Myanmar located in and around the city of Mandalay. Capped my stay by watching the sun set over the U Thein bridge. 4. Bagan: Everything about Bagan is magical. Over 2000 stupa and pagodas from the 11th to 13th century dot the countryside – all accessible by foot, horse carriage, and bicycle. Viewed another incredible sunset from the top of the Shwesandaw Pagoda. 4. Trekking from Kalaw to Inle Lake: Picturesque trek from the mountains of Kalaw down to beautiful Inle Lake. Spent a night in a Buddhist monastery. 5. Inle Lake: Wonderful Villa Inle Lake Resort, beautiful sunsets, magical fishing villages, and the amazing Shwe Indein pagoda complex make a stay on Inle Lake incredible. 6. Ngapali Beach: Relaxing, beautiful, quiet, and uncrowded are the best ways to describe Ngapali Beach. Enjoyed the white sand beach and the warm water of the Bay of Bengal. 7. Yangon: No trip to Myanmar is truly complete without a visit to Shwedagon Pagoda – the most important and famous Buddhist site in all of Myanmar.
Jacada is fantastic — luxury, personalized service. Jacada exceeded our expectations every step of the way — planning phase, during the trip, and post-mortem. I would recommend this company to anyone. Our family spent 18 days in Vietnam (Con Dao, Hoi An, Saigon) for Christmas in 2014. We took our children (8 year old, 12 year old). Since we had never been there, I spent lots of time researching the country (history, culture, activities, adventure, etc). I found Jacada on the web after becoming frustrated with all of the planning and I spoke to Kate, the Southeast Asia expert. Kate arranged everything and then some. Flights, hotels, daily adventures, restaurant recommendations, etc. She prepared a beautiful online multimedia itinerary (for us to share with other family and friends), had goodies (wine, kids’ chonkies, etc) sent to our rooms, and made sure every detail was taken care of. She was also super responsive, knowledgeable and very helpful. Jacada made us feel like VIPs during the trip. Our favorite venues/activities organized by location (for those who go included): 1. Con Dao. Six Senses. Off the chart relaxation at boutique hotel. Gorgeous beaches, prison tour, moped ride around island, Vietnamese cooking class. (Weather wasn’t as favorable for scuba/snorkeling at that time because of storm in nearby Philippines.) 2. Hoi An. Alma Courtyard. Lantern making, full day biking tour and working with the local farmers on their rice paddies and vegetable gardens, street food tour, daily massages included in boutique hotel price. 3. Saigon. Park Hyatt (although I’d start to look for another newer hotel that’s less run down…maybe Le Meridien when it opens in 2015). Side car tour, Cu Chi tunnels and Mekong River tour. No doubt we will work with Jacada again in 2015…maybe Botswana/Namibia? 🙂
Ciara, our travel consultant at Jacada, was outstanding. She helped create a fabulous itinerary, with great hotels, memorable experiences and excellent logistics and coordination. No detail was missed, and everyone in our family had a great time. It was very clear that much thought had been given to every aspect of the trip.
Byron at Jacada travel organized a super African vacation for our family, despite substantial challenges from us. Our group consisted of nine person, ranging in age from 10 to 74, traveling around the world from different locations on different days and ultimately meeting up in Cape Town. That is a lot of moving pieces, but despite all the logistical challenges, Byron and the Jacada team organized a magnificent holiday that was enjoyed by all. In Cape Town, we enjoyed an “eating tour,” a trip up Table Mountain, a tour of Robbin Island, a cultural walk through the City, a tour of Cape Point, and a magnificent Christmas dinner. Byron then organized an unforgettable safari in the Okavango delta in Botswana. Thereafter, we returned to South Africa for several relaxing days in wine country. We could not have had a better time, and we all highly recommend Byron and the Jacada team.
We had an amazing trip in South Africa over the Christmas and New Year’s Eve holidays! Tessa at Jacada Travel listened to our wants and needs and helped to plan a great personalized trip, giving us time in the Cape and on safari. Everything ran on time, and the lodging accommodations exceeded our expectations. There were a couple of snags with respect to a portion of our itinerary, but Jacada and their local South African partner New Frontiers worked together to resolve all issues. Thanks, Jacada, for an unforgettable experience!
I had an excellent experience working with Jacada from the time I first contacted them all the way through my amazing honeymoon trip! Great people, great recommendations and great travel accommodations; I would definitely work with Jacada again.
When my wife and I were searching around for a travel company to organize a trip for us to Patagonia, we found Jacada through a Google. We are very glad that we did. We live in Utah, and had some misgivings about dealing with a company in London. Our concerns proved to be completely unwarranted. From the very first phone call the customer service and professionalism were first rate. Our travel coordinator, Ciarra, put together a great itinerary that covered all the highlights that we wanted to include in this trip. She and the entire staff at Jacada worked to fine tune the itinerary to suit our preferences. No question or request was too small or inconsequential for them to address. They even made dinner reservations for us in the restaurants of our choice. Prior to leaving we received a personalized book that described in great detail everything we could expect to encounter in terms of the logistics of our journey. With some very minor exceptions, everything we were told happened just as described. We were met at every stop by a local guide and driver some of whom became our good friends. All the accommodations were first rate. At each location along the way we were presented with a personal note from our travel coordinator ( and often a bottle of wine) to welcome us and to update us on our itinerary. All the little touches enhanced our experience and made this Patagonian adventure the trip of a lifetime for us. I would not hesitate to use Jacada’s services again or to recommend Jacada to anyone who desires to travel in this style.
Our South African honeymoon was a truly flawless experience from start to finish! Despite the 6-hour time difference, we were able to plan a personalized trip with Jacada Travel. We received a quick response to our initial inquiry from Tess. From that point on, all communications were very easy and timely. Tess was incredibly attentive and thorough. She took the time to piece together our desires with her EXCELLENT recommendations to give us an amazing custom tailored honeymoon. It was apparent from the start that she was very knowledgeable with South Africa and definitely an expert in the various attractions, dining, accommodations, etc. The trip itself was a once a in a lifetime experience that went flawlessly. Tess was able to coordinate each detail of our pre-booked outings/tours/dining reservations so that we had a completely stress-free experience! All of the accommodations she recommended were absolutely LOVELY and LUXURIOUS with impeccable service. Each accommodation made us feel like true honeymooners with special touches/surprises/upgrades. The dining experiences were all top-notch as were their colleagues on the ground at Ilios Travel who were very knowledgeable, welcoming, and friendly. We cannot thank you enough for creating a honeymoon that exceeded our expectations, and we hope to use your services again in the near future!
Jobi listened to our preferences and put together an itinerary which was spot on! The Royal Livingstone was beautiful and sitting in the “Devils Pool” was an experience we’ll never forget. We’d also recommend Ngala Tented Camp to anyone visiting that part of the world. The Winelands and Cape Town was also a great way to finish. Having a 3.5m Great White stick it’s nose in the cage is another experience we won’t be forgetting anytime soon either. We’ll done Jacada, we had a great trip!
We had an outstanding experience with Jacada Travel. Everything was carefully planned for us and executed without a flaw. We would highly recommend this agency to anyone who travels.
Thanks to George for helping us plan an amazing vacation. We loved every minute.
Excellent experience with Jacada. From initial query to holiday. Experts who know the region – South America in our case , and what to do and not to do. Accomodation, guides, transfers all high quality Would highly recommend them
We gave our specification to George who arranged an action packed holiday in four different locations, city, tropical rain forest, cloud forest and coast. The transfers between locations went very smoothly with wi-fi connectivity provided in the vehicles. Costa Rica is a fantastic Eco friendly country which we thoroughly enjoyed. The different locations provided micro climates that offered different birds, mamals, flora and fauna, adding another dimension to the holiday. The food and service in the more remote places was outstanding. Thanks a lot.
We had a wonderful Honeymoon experience working with George and his team. It was our first time working with a travel agent and it was well worth it! We decided to go to Argentina and every stop along the way was special… Chauffeur to and from airports, well informed Tour Guide in each city and restaurants and must see suggestions along the way. Our flight to Argentina was delayed so we lost one day in Buenos Aires but the travel team made changes to our itinerary overnight to accommodate us when we arrived. Thank you!
Everything was planed and executed perfectly by Jacada. Our accommodations, guides and drivers were first class! We were particularly impressed by the on-time arrival of all personnel at the airports so that we were never concerned about being stranded in a foreign country. We most certainly will use Jacada Travel again for future international travels.
We traveled to Peru with Jacada in September/October 2014. We chose Jacada because of their flexibility and responsiveness. Our trip encompassed three nights in Sacred Valley, one night in Machu Picchu, three nights in Cusco, three nights at Lake Titicaca outside of Puno, and two nights in Lima. Each hotel (Rio Sagrado, Inkaterra, Monasterio, Titilaka, Miraflores Park) was beautiful, rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, and each room offered a beautiful view. Our guides were well-informed, courteous, and professional, and the drivers were excellent. We were met at each location and were escorted to airport or train station after our visit there. The sights we experienced in each location exceeded our expectations. Peru is a beautiful country with a rich archeological and cultural heritage which we were so pleased to experience. Everywhere, the people we met were friendly and helpful. The restaurants in our hotels, those which were part of our package, and those which we chose on our own served tasty, high quality, local food uncontaminated by outside influence. Peru does not receive enough credit for its cuisine What a wonderful trip! Our thanks to George Warren at Jacada, to our guides and drivers, and to all the people who made our journey so pleasant and memorable. We would certainly consider traveling with Jacada in the future.
We had never been to South America, so we entrusted Jacada to plan the most luxurious 12 days for us in Argentina for our honeymoon. From the moment we landed in Buenos Aires, we were greeted by our private guide and driven by our private driver to our hotel. Each hotel we stayed in was amazing. Every time we arrived at a new location, we were greeted with gifts and champagne/wine.The staff at each hotel were very attentive and professional. We were able to visit three areas of Argentina on our trip and the travel guides made it very enjoyable easy for us. We were completely spoiled on our honeymoon and George Warren could not have designed a better trip for us. I highly recommend using Jacada for your individually tailored vacation. We can’t wait to use them again.
Wonderful trip to Chile. Jacada made us feel well cared for and allowed us to fully enjoy the trip without stress. Pretty amazing.
We started our trip in Rio. It didn’t live up to expectations. The hotel in St Therese was hard to get to especially as the tram tracks were dug up and roads closed. Our guide led us to the obvious places which is, in retrospect, a waste of resources. They are easy to get to and we should have spent time with Jacques seeing less obvious sights. Actually I was a bit under the weather and couldn’t really celebrate my 60th as planned. To add a black mark on Rio my wife’s debit card was cloned! Leaving Rio behind we headed north to Iguazu. A wonderful 2 days spent at one of the best hotels we have found. Our tour guide (Horst) was not up to the Jacada standard but that was not too much of a worry as the venue speaks for itself. Strangely I couldn’t find any information about the geology. We flew via Salta to Mendoza and this was the highlight of our stay. Jacada chose a wonderful winery to stay on (Club tapiz0 and our guide (eduardo) could not have been bettered. Suitably wined and dined we headed off to the lake district – Barriloche. Our orientation tour was stupendous – what vistas!! Our guide took us on a “sample” walk – a shame really because we should have gone further while the sun shone. But as if to prove that you can’t have everything the next day nature threw a late snow storm at us. We stayed in at a very well appointed lakeside hotel (El Casco art hotel) but the staff seamed to think they were Swiss/German.: abrupt and unhelpful. The choice of a venue to celebrate our 25th was excellent – a hideaway gormet restaurant up in the hills. As we left Barriloche the sun came back so we left the lake district with good memories. Next stop was the glacier national park. It may be useful if Jacada can make contact with the outfitters who hire out clothes for the glacier trip. we really did traipse around Argentuna with all the snow gear just for four essential hours. Las saucis was another inspired choice of hotel. Jacada didnm’t pre-book the glacier tour which I find strange. Actually the guide provided (laura) was very pleasant but didn’t have a lot to do as we joined the ice trek. Watching and appreciating glaciers and imagining how they shape our landscape was a really worthwhile thing to do. Having had so much fresh air we flew up to the sprawling city of Buenos Aries. French architecture and British engineering to quote our guide (Dario). Perhaps Jacada should have thought of an evening at the Opera/ Alos we hadn’t yet played golf (a nine hole garden in Mendoza and 8 holes in the snow at barriloche dion’t count) and decided that we should get a game in. The local travel company were absolutely hopeless in this regard. One reson to play was to spend all the pesoes that we’d changed. Jacada ought to have advised us that not only to the local love USD but they give you almost twice (!!) the official exchange rate. we ended the trip in fine style with a very intimate Tango show. What agreat trip!
Jacada Travel did an outstanding job in helping us plan our trip to South Africa. Every aspect of the trip — the in-country travel, the lodgings, the tours, and the restaurant choices — were terrific. I will recommend (and I have recommended) Jacada Travel to anyone thinking of travelling to South Africa (or anywhere else Jacada Travel organizes trips). Samantha Kelly was particularly helpful and always very responsive. I wish all businesses were run as well as Jacada Travel.
Sam(Samantha Kelley), Sam, Sam is a name I announce with joy. I called Jacada Travel and Sam was my first contact. I told her what I was interested in traveling to South Africa for our 50th wedding anniversary. I told Sam that my wife wanted luxury and first class treatment; Sam delivered. We stayed at the Ellerman House, La Residence, Dulini Lodge, and Royal Chundu. All four places knew about our anniversary and suites and champagne were waiting for us. The food was to die for along with the service at each stay. Kathy was so pleased, she wrote a favorable review concerning the Dulini Lodge to the Trip Advisor site. Finally, Jacada was there when Air France cancelled our flight back to Boston. An airport agent made new arrangements and we flew back without a problem. Now, that is what I call a first class operation. Thank you Jacada.
In Hawaiian “no ka ‘oi” simply means “the best”. My wife and I have always done everything on our own when traveling so going through a travel agent was a first for us and “luxury travel” was also a first. The best I can say for Jacada in general and George Warren in particular is that — every single thing they said they would do they did. It was also done when they said it would be done. There were a few surprises though, like the tango show where when we got there we were seated, literally, front row center. Also the restaurant where we were seated right next to the kitchen (an honor) where we could watch what was going on and converse with the chefs. Every hotel they booked for us treated us as if we were the most important people they had on the property. Jacada is truly “no ka ‘oi”.
everything about the planning and execution of our trip organized by Jacada travel was truly superb! Six of us went and all are of the same opinion that it was wonderful. we highly recommend them for travel plans.
As long as price is not a restriction Jacada can be relied on to put together a superb tailor made holiday to fit your requirements. Like all travel companies they have their favourite destinations, hotels etc to persuade you to go to but at least in their case your are assured luxury, good service and well organised trips. Their level of detailed planning is top notch
Jonny at Jacardi Travel made my first trip to Africa easy. I traveled to Uganda, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe and every detail of the journey was handled with care by Jonny. I never had any question regarding air or ground transportation or lodging and all of the camps were first rate. I’d recommend this trip to anyone interested in experiencing Africa for the first time.
George at Jacada arranged the vacation of a lifetime through all of Peru – Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the Nazca Lines, the Amazon basin! Every hotel was impeccable. We ate the choicest meals. All arrangements were made for us, and the local guides were knowledgable and friendly. Even the cook on the Inca trail was able to cook a vegan menu for my wife, which was quite a surprising and welcome touch. I’d recommend Jacada highly!
Jacada handled EVERYTHING for our 12 day Peruvian adventure. From the planning to the guides to the in country assistance, everything was top notch and no detail was left unmanaged. Jen Richt planned an exceptional trip for us and our itinerary was filled with the most interesting sites, and most luxurious accommodations. Our Peruvian guides were knowledgable, amiable, proud and fun! I would recommend Jacada to anyone who wants stress free travel where every single detail is handled and you are tended to from start to finish.
Our Jacada experience made this a trip of a lifetime! It was always going to be a great trip but the selections of accomodation, experiences, guides, tours etc from Jacada jetted it into the awesome category. Everything had been chosen from personal experience and you could tell – even some of the people looking after us complimented Jacada and commented on how lovely Sam was. The Jacada experience smoothed the way through South Africa for us – never once were we waiting at an airport or lost on where to go as there was always someone there for us! The personal touches left for us were appreciated and unexpected and the responsiveness of Sam when we had a minor hiccup (unrelated to Jacada!) was outstanding. Highly recommend Jacada and can’t wait until we talk to you again for 2016!
Great hotels and service all the way through the trip. Peruvian food and service was excellent. The Amazon boat was luxurious and alll the staff were very knowledgable. The only complaint was that the airline connections were painfully long.
My family has recently returned from a wonderful holiday in South Africa. Sam from Jacada was excellent in helping us to plan our itinerary taking into account our individual preferences, and giving recommendations which were based on personal experience. All our accommodation was of the highest standard and our tours and Safari experiences were amazing! Everything went smoothly and all transfers were on time and very professional. We were given lots of helpful information before our holiday, our many questions were answered in full, and we felt confident that we would be making the most of our holiday in South Africa. I can highly recommend Jacada Travel to anyone looking for a special holiday!
Emily heard what we wanted, sent us choices, asked questions, gave advice and in four short days our plans were finalized. So nice to work with someone so professional. Everything on our trip was exactly as presented, no mistakes, mis communication, excuses. Really nice to have such a great experience. And they follow up all along the way, really a quality experience.
When our intention to visit the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu became more concrete, I started to search the internet for travel agencies and stumbled across Jacada. After I sent an e-mail on a Sunday afternoon, neither did I expect to receive a first call only hours later, nor a complete first draft itinerary few days later. What followed were very professional communications with the Jacada representative, great advise and suggestions upon hotels and sight seeing options to get everything we wanted on our schedule, but even more we could imagine. Being a critical customer, after that perfect start with planning, I was very curious how the promises would be turned into delivery, which in my opinion is the only thing that counts. Now after having returned from a 3.5 weeks trip I can confirm: All promises were kept and our high expectations on a luxury travel provider were fully met! Top hotels everywhere, a great cruise through the Galapagos Islands, experienced and knowledgeable guides in Ecuador and Peru, and the feeling of being taken care 100% every day of our tour made the difference for us. Having met other many other travellers with problems with the altitude in Peru, we really appreciated the sequence Jacada put together for us (Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco, Lake Titikaka), so we could enjoy every moment at these places. Personal letters and individualised additional suggestions for visits restaurants etc. at each of our stops just topped all the selections. Honestly, I was a little bit sceptical about travelling with a tour itinerary only and not the usual booklet with a number of tickets and vouchers (which in our case with all the different hotels, transfers and visits would have been rather thick), but everything was prepared optimal; we did not have to care about anything. Well, as a summery: When ever we will be travelling to places Jacada is represented, they will be our only service provider.
I came across Jacada while searching the web for luxury vacations in Peru. I honestly was not familiar with the company so I did a bit of research and found them to be a well rated and very reputable firm so I proceeded to work with them. I’ve reached a point in my life (50’s) where I am willing to spend a bit more to ensure I have more upscale accommodations, personalized / private tours, and a well thought out itinerary that reflects my interests and affords me the opportunity to make changes along the way (e.g. starting the tour an hour later, spending less / more time at a place depending on my level of interest, etc.). Jacada is just the place to arrange such a trip. From the beginning, George, our “Director of Travel Design” worked with us inquiring about our likes, dislikes (e.g. city vs. countryside, types of foods we like, activity level and interests, etc.). From there he proceeded to develop a detailed itinerary that we further fine tuned. He also provided extremely helpful guidance on the timing of flights (to avoid issues with fog, etc.) that demonstrated a high level of detailed knowledge of where we were traveling. This expertise became even more evident as our trip progressed and all the well orchestrated pieces of our trip flowed smoothly together. George had a knack for knowing when we would need a break and built that into the trip, but also ensured we were situated in hotels that could easily and cheerfully facilitate relatively spontaneous requests like “we would like to go on a horse back ride today” or please get us a taxi to the ruins of Ollantaytambo (both of which we did!). The planned private tours on the trip were provided by absolute top notch guides. They knew their profession, country and sites and really made you feel welcome and ensured the tour was meeting your expectations. In fact one day my wife was feeling a bit off and the guide immediately said lets go the pharmacy and get her an electrolyte drink (which was what she needed!). He proceeded to go in and buy it for us as it was clear his concern was for her well being. His quick thinking and generous nature allowed us to enjoy a tour that otherwise might have been quite miserable. When we wanted to start a tour an hour later (which we did a couple of times) we simply asked, they made a quick phone call and all was set (one of the beauties of a private tour!). The accommodations were all at a minimum excellent and a couple were truly outstanding with one being the nicest hotel room I have had in my life – and I have traveled a bit for work and pleasure and stayed at some nice places in Europe, Asia, South America and the US. The sites we saw were all terrific and indeed reflected what we had shared our interests were. Having the private guide allowed us to tune them as we went along, for example at the Maras salt ponds we decided to walk through them and take about a 1/2 hour hike down the mountain (with our guide) to meet our driver vs. simply jumping back into the van. Had we wanted to not take the hike that was OK too. The entire trip was nearly flawless in terms of execution and meeting expectations, though we did have two relatively minor glitches, and in many ways how these were handled speaks volumes to the quality and reputation of Jacada. The first happened when one of our in country flights was a bit early. I could not find our guide. I called the local contact provided by Jacada, who immediately picked up the phone, assured me the driver was there and asked me (while staying with me on the phone) to look again. Sure enough I quickly found our guide. The issue seemed to be that our flight was (as mentioned) early so while he was likely there he just had not gone to the greeting area early. Had the flight been on time this would likely not have been an issue, but it does demonstrate that Jacada had planned for such things and ensured I had a contact. The second minor issue was our tour at Machu Picchu was listed as a private tour but we ended up in a small group (5 people). While I didn’t think much of it at the time, I casually mentioned this to George upon our return, he investigated, indicated it was a mistake and promptly provided us a refund for that tour, now that is integrity! There is no doubt Jacada is a first class operation to be trusted. And while the tours they arrange are “luxury” they are not what I would call obnoxiously expensive. Sure they are a bit more than being carted around on a bus with 30 other people and staying at mass market OK hotels, but the benefit of doing it through Jacada is a tour that is yours, providing a personalized experience and the flexibility to make it meet your needs and wants as you go along. Arrange your next holiday with Jacada – you will be glad you did!
Because of a relatively short timeframe, we were having a hard time finding the perfect safari lodge and the perfect dates. Byron kept looking until we found it. He made sure that everything on the trip was well timed and that we were always taken care of at each leg. The accommodations he selected were beyond expectation. There were little surprises throughout and quite honestly it felt like being royalty.
Jacada Travel were great from day 1, very professional, always willing to help and offer their opinion to help tailor the trip to our needs. I will definitely be using their services again in the future and would recommend them to anyone.
There is not one thing I would add, subtract or alter to our vacation in Africa. From the moment we stepped off the plane in Johannesburg to the time we were back in the airport to return home we were taken care of royally. Our trip involved four camps, three countries, border crossings, little 6 seater planes and all of it was handled efficiently and with attention to our needs. I have dietary restrictions which Jacada informed the camps about and with one exception, which was not the fault of Jacada, my needs were met with delicious, carefully prepared meals. (The exception was sorted out by Jacada to our satisfaction within days of our arrival home.) Each camp provided us with a different experience, as promised by our wonderful agent, Byron Thomas, but all of them went above and beyond to help us celebrate our anniversary. We had private dinners, lunches in the bush, on a private island. . . I had ridiculously high expectations for this trip and anticipated it with such exuberance that my husband and I feared it couldn’t live up to our hopes. I have to say that not only did it live up to those expectations, it exceeded them in every way. I can’t recommend Jacada Travel and Byron Thomas highly enough–I hope to travel with them again in the future!
Our trip to Peru was the second vacation we’ve arranged through Jacada Travel. It was every bit as good as the first one we did to Chile in 2011. George was extremely helpful, working with our schedule and our wish list. His suggestion that we end our trip at Lake Titicaca paid off handsomely. It ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. George’s attention to detail is tremendous, and his good humor made working with him very enjoyable. I’m happy to use Jacada Travel whenever we want a memorable trip. We know that all the experiences will be first class and the arrangements will come off without a hitch. Thanks again for a great trip. We’re already thinking of the next one – this time, maybe Africa.
Booked through Jacada Travel for the first time as their website was the best and they offered to tailor my trip to our requirements. Byron phoned me back within 2 minutes of my first email enquiry and immediately had some great suggestions on how to improve the itinerary to get more out of our trip. His passion for Africa showed in his personal knowledge. He put together a first class trip with all the elements and transport meshing together seamlessly. The ultimate was being met off the airbridge on arrival into South Africa and whisked through immigration – fantastic.
We were met on time in a clear and efficient manner at every turn during the three weeks of our travel. Our guides were both helpful and friendly, speaking English in a very understandable manner. They acceeded to our every desire and were available at all times. Some of the food could have been better, but most was very tasty and appropriate to the country.
It’s hard to imagine a more spectacle-packed trip than what we wanted for our honeymoon in South Africa. Being from the United States, I had reservations on travelling such a far distance to a place I had only read about in school. My fiance (now wife) had been saying for years that an African safari trip was on her bucket list. After 2 years of convincing me to take the dive, we decided to plan our honeymoon in Africa! 4 weeks and 3 travel agents later we landed on the webpage for Jacada Travel. Seeing that they were based out of London, again I had reservations. We emailed Jacada and received a rather quick response from Tess Van Der Walt. Seeing that there was a 6 hour time difference, I was quite impressed. We told Tess that we noticed a travel package on their website called “The Magnificent Seven Safari” that really seemed to encompass everything we wanted to do. After all, travelling that far I decided we were going to do it all! Tess asked us some preliminary questions to get an idea of just what we wanted. Not only did she offer us multiple options for places to say and things to do, she put it all down on paper so we could sit down and review together. We picked out exactly what we wanted with the help of Tess’ wonderful recommendations and expertise and 4 months later set out on what would be the best journey we had ever taken. We arrived in Cape Town only to be greeted by a nicely dressed man, wearing a name tag and hold a sign with our name on it. This made me feel totally at ease considering I was in a foreign country with no idea what to expect. He greeted us with a smile and escorted us to his Mercedes sedan parked in the garage. Needless to say, I was again impressed. Our private drive took us directly to our first destination with no problems along the way. We checked into the Cape View Clifton guesthouse only to find a bottle of champagne and a fantastic view in our room! Yes, Tess called ahead and informed the guesthouse that we had just been married so they took extra special care of us. The next afternoon we were picked up by another private driver who’s task was to take us on a private tour of the city and table mountain. Again, we were greeted by a well dressed man driving a nice car and wearing a name tag. He immediately offered us a bottle of water and explained exactly how the day was going to go. Throughout the day we saw amazing views, learned a lot about the history of South Africa and got some great pics! He dropped us off back at our guesthouse that afternoon safe and sound. The next day was a full day tour of the peninsula, cape point, wine country and the waterfront. By this time I was at ease and ready to explore! We had the same driver as the day before which was very nice as we developed a rapport with him and made things very fun! We experienced so many things in that one day I could’ve gone home happy! A few days later we had another private transfer about 1.5 hours away to the town of Hermanus. The Whale coast. What a breathtaking place! We were greeted upon arrival at the Ocean Eleven guesthouse with a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates. Yes, Tess made them aware of our nuptials. The re was even a note in our room from Tess welcoming us to our next destination! We spent the next 3 days walking along the cliffs, watching the wales, having romantic dinners along the water and doing a shark cage dive!! Yes, I was very nervous to do such a brazen task but hey, we’re in Africa! The company that Tess recommended was awesome! They picked us up from our guesthouse and drove us to Gaansbai (shark alley) where we boarded a boat andd set out for shark infested water 🙂 All I can say is bring your submersible camera. What an experience!! At no time did I ever feel unsafe or like the crew didnt know what was going on. Excellent recommendation Tess! Our last stop on our journey was in the Kruger National Park at a safari lodge called Ngala. Due to our finances, we had to pick a “middle of the road” lodge instead of the “high roller” lodge. Boy was I surprised by what awaited us! We again were greeted by a hot towel, a drink and an escort to our room. The rooms were quaint, well maintained and perfect for our needs. We spent 4 days seeing things I never thought I’d see in my lifetime. We were served breakfast, lunch and dinner every day as well as snack and drinks while out on safari in the morning and evening. On our last night there, the staff set up a private candlelight dinner on our porch complete with my favorite drink (which they handily took note of sometime during our stay) a bottle of champagne, and even a live singing performance by their staff members…right on our porch!!! We made friends with our safari ranger as well as 2 other couples from New Zealand while we were there. I never thought I’d have friends more than a continent away! All in all, Jacada and the companies they work with are second to none. All of the detail and planning that goes into each trip makes you feel like you are their only client. Tess emailed us the day after we got back to see how our trip went and asked for photos as well. She was genuinely interested in what we wanted, how we felt, how our travels went and what worked for us. I would absolutely recommend Tess and the rest of the Jacada team for any and all of your travels!! Thanks again and we will definitely be using your services again on our anniversary!!!
Jacada made sure that every aspect of our stay was taken are of to the highest level. Their planning enabled us to feel calm, safe, and welcome our entire trip. Their service start from our step out of the secured area of the airport and continued until trip concluded, again at the airport. The guides provided to us were able to answer and questions related to our trip and/or the country. The flexibility allowed while planning continued during the trip which allowed us to enjoy every moment. I highly recommend Jacada Travel to anyone going abroad.
We had an incredible trip to hike the Inca Trail and visit Machu Picchu via Jen Richt at Jacada Travel. From our tours in Cusco, to all of our transfers and the amazing experience at Enigma Tours (the trek)….we were completely taken care of! It was a seamless, wonderful adventure and would absolutely book through Jacada in the future!
It was going to be the first time for me and my father to South America, and I stumbled upon the name “Jacada Travel” in many articles and thought of checking it out. The website did enough impression to make me decided to contact them. Since that moment, I have been very taken care of by my travel designer, [Name] Owens. She crafted an extremely beautiful plan that fits almost everything we want to see within our limited time. This plan is refined couple times along the way, including last-minute change due to our visa situation. She has been extremely patient and helpful to us. The trip itself was fantastic. Jacada did a great job in adding many personalized touch throughout our trip. Very friendly guides and drivers who knows our taste, welcome gifts upon arrival to every country and every hotels, and lots of letters from [Name]. Our hotels are all amazing and fits our preference of what a good hotel should be. There is absolutely nothing bad I can think of. It has been one of the most memorable trip for us. It’s even better to know that the price we paid are only slightly higher than what local tour providers in Indonesia would charge us; but we got WAY better hotels and services. If there is anything Jacada can do to improve what has already been a really wonderful service, is if they can take care of visa applications as well. Otherwise, all my thumbs up for them! p.s. If you want to know EVERY single detail and experience of my recent trip with them, check out my blog by searching google and type “Travelog christian leonardo jacada” (since this review does not allow me to post any link, apologize for the inconvenience lol)
We had a fantastic 10 days in Peru organised by Jacada. We didn’t have to put much into the planning coz Jacada really knew how to make the most of the 10 days. We were met by representatives at every stop and our guide, Oscar was fantastic. The hotels were really magnificent choices. It was great to know that we were not missing anything important since the trip was planned with someone who knew the area. Thank you Jacada for a wonderful experience. We now really want to explore more of South America. Looking forward to planning our next trip.
The destinations were outstanding (excellent advice from George, as usual), the guides all very good and very fluent in English, the hotels as good as they can be in Bolivia. We were picked up on time and taken care of flawlessly. When one of our flights was cancelled due to bad weather, the reaction was swift and efficient. Great job!
This trip when being planned had minor issues with Safari lodge reservation, Once booked and after receiving assurance from Samantha Kelly, JACADA travels provided my family with an opportunity to experience an outstanding and beyond imagination trip that we will cherish a life time. We loved the movement we landed in Cape Town and enjoyed the trip until left Johannesburg airport back to London. We enjoyed the Ngala safari lodge and services. We really like to thank Elliott and Jimmy, ranger and tracker who took all efforts to show us the big five and more. We want to go back and Samantha will be our adviser and planner. she has become a friend and JACADA is truly a outstanding travel company. We had heard about JACADA prior to travel and this trip has demonstrated the JACADA’s outstanding planning and service . Thank you.
Jacada provided friendly and personal service throughout. Questions were always answered in good time and practical guidance was provided to ensure the holiday was tailored to our requirements. Throughout the holiday itself the local representatives in Costa Rica ensured that ourselves and our luggage were always in the right places at the right time which is essential for a holiday with multiple destinations and transfers. We loved our personal welcome notes from Jen at Jacada at each of our different accommodation. All in all this was never going to be a cheap holiday but you get what you pay for. We had a fantastic holiday tailored just for us and would recommend this travel company.
Everything turned out as planned and outlined by Jacada. Arrangements for airport pick ups/drop offs, hotel rooms, mini tours and guides were excellent.
From the first interaction our entire experience with Jacada Travel was excellent. When we arrived in Capetown the weather was lousy and this immediately disrupted our plans. Jacada’s in country support Tracey Wren from New Frontiers immediately went to work to reschedule our activities in an effort to get us on a shark boat which they knew was very important to us. They were prompt and highly responsive. While we all know you cannot control the weather our vacation would have had a disappointing start without the diligent work and relationships of the in country agents. All the reservations, payments, transfers and connections were all on time or early. If you are ever going to Africa for the first time and want to have a great experience and lower your stress level use Jacada. They have great people who know the area and the activities. Our family would definitely use them again. Chris, Sandi and Ben Higgs
The best trip I have ever taken! From the first phone call to throughout the trip to the return flight home I felt 100% taken care of! There was no travel stress because jacada took care of everything! I felt like a celebrity being whisked through the airports, bypassing lines, and having people do the check- ins for me! My next few trips will be with Jacada because you truly get your money’s worth. Tess, in particular, was fantastic! She took the time to get to know us and planned things according to our likes and interests! 2000% better than expected!!!
Where to begin…………The four Wheelers came away from this experience individually and collectively using words like “life changing”; “profound”; “unexpected”; “beyond expectations”; “different”; “more than expected”; “awe inspiring”. We all agreed that our 2015 vacation will most definitely be a return to Africa……..I have personally travelled to over 50 countries and the place that I want to go back to is Africa….certainly Tanzania, but perhaps more broadly to encompass South Africa; Botswana; Uganda; Rwanda and more. The accommodations : outstanding but very different in each locale. Legendary Lodge : made completely welcome by Russell and his staff…..superb quarters but next time we’ll start our trip with two nights there not one. Crater Lodge was like living in The Shire (I’m sure I saw a Hobbit or two….although it might have been a baboon with big hairy feet)…………………quaint, but the ultimate in luxury with staff that excelled and seemed genuinely (as opposed to it being their job) wanting to please and make us welcome. The walks back from dinner accompanied by our Askari knowing that Cape Buffalo or Elephant lurked yards off our path was exhilarating and an adrenalin rush….food was outstanding and accommodations themselves were 6 star….including the rose petal bath each night for Candace Chem-Chem : great food; charming hosts/hostesses/ loved the baby mongoose/ walk with the giraffes; discovering the “Little Five”; breakfast amongst the Baobab trees; and the spectacular Sundowner on the (dried up) lake…………truly luxury at its most decadent. Mwiba : the highlight of the trip…….stunning property; delightful hostess (Ann-Marie); incredible experiences — 15 feet from a roaring lion at 10pm….in an open Land Cruiser, in the dark (adrenalin rush bigtime); watching an angry matriarch elephant trying to find us in our blind at dusk…..with her breeding herd of 12 standing right behind her!; leopard eating her kill, in a tree with hyenas lurking directly below……and on and on. Great food and a willingness to feed us at any hour whenever we came back after dark; service from the local staff who would put the best restaurants in the world to shame………………who’s “you’re welcome” always seemed to come from the heart with a smile. A day at a Maasie boma…………seemingly not as tourists but as guests who were glad to see us (except the tribe that was willing to shoot us with poison arrows if we took their photos (sorry, no pictures of them to share!). If we only return to Africa to visit one place, it will be Mwiba. How could you not want to go back? Mobile camp : great experience and the only way to get amongst the migration. Saw every animal and bird in existence I think. How else to describe it other than “life changing”…..maybe “perfect”? Thank you Sam and Byron at Jacada. You were superb!
Because I was planning a wedding, I decided I needed help planning the perfect honeymoon in Indonesia. It was *the best* decision to work with Kate Edwards and the Jacada team. They helped me find locations that would have been difficult to find, given that I had never been to Indonesia. Once we were there, decisions were all made and we felt gently guided and cared for the entire time. In addition, there were many small touches that couldn’t have been experienced if we were going alone. Flowers on beds, kind notes, gifts, etc. It was magic.
My husband and I found Jacada online when we were looking for honeymoon ideas. The different travel options look AMAZING, so I left an inquiry and received a call back from Kate. Our initial plan was to go to Thailand, and Kate helped put together a wonderful trip. When the election riots began, however, we decided to play it safe and choose another country. Kate gave us some great advice, and we ended up putting together a package for Indonesia. She was so patient with all of the changes we made, and it turned out to be a fantastic honeymoon. Jacada makes everything so easy, from being picked up at airports and hotels with a private driver and guide, to putting together the itinerary with everything you want to do, to notes checking at each of your stops. Everything is seamless and easy. I will say, however, even if you are adventurous like I am, there is room for that as well! Kate planned some rafting, elephant riding, and hiking for us as well. Whatever you are into, you will be able to find it stress-free with Jacada.
You can trust Jacada and Byron, met them online and did not what to expect. Every expectation was exceded.
Our trip designed by Tess at Jacada Travel could not have been better. She took care of every detail and we were treated like royalty. She booked us into lodges that were gems and they had all the amenities that first class travelers should have. Tess was a dream to work with, listening to all our concerns and wishes. She was easy to contact and responded in a timely manner after hours. This trip turned out to be much more than we imagined it would be. We highly recommend Jacada Travel and be sure to ask for Tessa Van der Walt for your African trip.
Tess did the most amazing job organizing our trip to match out wants. South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, johanesburg and Mozambique with never a hitch. Never a single late driver, perfect transfers through many countries, and a trip tailored to our desires with the right amount of direction. Would use again in a heartbeat!
Byron at Jacada did an amazing job organizing and planning our trip to South Africa. Everything ran smoothly and we were able to do things only locals know about. My husband and I were able to focus on our adventures (safari and shark cage diving) instead of worrying about the details. I highly recommend this service.
We already had a safari in South Africa we bid on at an auction. So I was researching other options to add on to the trip. I contacted Jacada travel online and Sam immediately reached out to me. She was so friendly and helpful in helping us put together our itinerary. Within just a few days we had everything put together for an amazing trip. She recommended the most amazing places to stay and the best tours. When we arrived everything was taken care of including our transportation. It was such a relief not having to worry about the details. The trip was absolutely amazing and everything went according to plan. A truly memorable trip that we are still talking about months later. I cannot recommend Jacada travel and Sam enough. Thanks for the trip of a lifetime!
I would recommend Byron at Jacada Travel to anyone – he designed a trip for my daughter and I that was absolutely perfect! We were taken great care of and the hotel and Game lodge that were chosen for us were gorgeous! The day long cape tour was unforgettable and our driver was very knowledgable! So glad we included several days of Safari per Byron’s suggestion – an incredible experience that we will never forget along with gourmet food at every meal! The Londolozi Varty camp was breathtaking and luxurious at the same time, and the staff was everything we could have asked for – not a thing we would change, except to stay longer!! Jacada took great care of us!!!
This is the second time that we have used Jacada Travel, and we could not be more pleased with the professionalism and attention that we have received. Both trips to South America were well planned and came off without a hitch. Even when there was a miner strike in Peru, the agency took care of us beautifully. Thank you, Jacada.
Tess listened to what we were looking for and followed through in every way. No detail was left unattended, and we loved every one of the properties she selected. Can’t recommend her heartily enough! We can hardly wait to get her help planning our next big trip.
We choose Jacada based on the easy to use and informative website. We had a very good experience planning our African honeymoon with Jacada. They provided us a dedicated agent and really listened to our opinions to personalize every detail of our trip. We had many locations and flight transfers in our trip. Each transfer was seamless, we were met with personal greeters and friendly guides at every stop. I loved the attention to detail from the travel package to champagne waiting for us at every hotel. I also think we got the best rooms because of booking through Jacada. I would recommend Jacada and Tess to anyone and will continue to use them over and over again. We already booked our next trip through Jacada to Ecuador!
We found Jacada travel through the internet, not a usual means for us to make complicated and highly particularized travel arrangements in a country unknown to us. We found them extremely thorough, detailed, and perfectly reliable. In every instance our guides, drivers, pilots, boat captains, etc etc showed up precisely on time and carried out every arrangement impeccably. When I had some questions about an arrangement, on a Sunday after hours, I sent an email and received an immediate reply, followed by a telephone call from a local agent who obtained and forwarded the requested information. Turns out, I had already received this information and was unaware of it. My only cavil – on one private flight with light aircraft, we had only a pilot, and no co-pilot. Since we were being fetched from a remote location, it wasn’t possible to remedy this on the spot. Other than that, absolutely no issues. I would definitely use them again without hesitation, would be clearer about the co-pilot issue.
George worked with us to prepare and execute a fantastic trip to Peru where we saw fantastic sights. The trip was very well organised and went faultlessly. The hotels were excellent and the food was excellent throughout. The itinerary was well thought out and took account of the altitude in such a way that we did not suffer from it at all. The guides were very good and made the sites and museums come alive in a brilliant way. All done in a very cost effective way compared to the opposition.
We had a wonderful trip to South Africa and Zambia. No detail was left out and we saw everything we were looking for. The staff at Jacada were always available before and during our trip to ensure everything went as planned. All accommodation’s were first class.
We had an awesome holiday and packed a lot into 20 days with moves by plane, rail or coach every 3 days. Everything was organised for us everywhere with minimal delays throughout. The Hotels were excellent and to the standard we expected. All the guided tours were brilliant, very informative and a must in certain areas especially Lima where we visited sites that would not have been obvious to the average tourist. We visited Lima, Puerto Maldonado , Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu , Hirham Bingham (superb) , Cusco , Andean explorer, Lake Titikaka, Colca Lodge Colca Canyon , Arequipa and finally Lima. A really memorable trip.
We are so glad we went to Argentina, and equally pleased that Jacada was our guide. Positives: The right amount of time on our own and with the guide, just my husband and myself instead of a group of strangers traveling with us,fabulous food, small boutique hotels, local guides, and best of all: very customized to our wishes and interests. Negatives: none
My family and I have travelled with Jacada Travel twice now to South America – Peru and Ecuador/Galapagos. Both trips have been at the top of our bucket list for years, and Ciara at Jacada made sure that the trip met every one of our high expectations! Ciara and the team at Jacada helped tailor the accommodations and tours to our style, taste and budget, including a luxury camping trip along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, and a wonderful cruise with my 10-year old daughter in Galapagos. Jacada ensures every detail is taken care of, arranges all your transfers and tours, truly allowing you to have a car free vacation. Everything is first class and better than you expected. Jacada and their local guides also helped arrange a flight back from Peru when my grandmother fell ill while we were away. We are working on a trip to South East Asia with Jacada next!
I dragged my husband on a vacation he didn’t want to take even though he was the one to arrange it through Ciara in Jacarda Travel. He eventually had to admit that he loved the trip as much as I did. He has always been a keen photographer and the Galapagos’ are a photographers dream. I was happy to be his equipment carrying assistant. We had the benefit of meticulous planning by Ciara. We relied heavily on her recommendations and they all turned out perfectly. She was cheerful, efficient and good humoured as well as extremely knowledgable about her specialist area. I think she thought we might end up lost as she kept in touch frequently until we were safely on board the Grand Odyssy and then again afterwards until safely on the plane home. I suppose any complaint would be that we could have stayed longer. The smaller boat, the Grand Odyssy suited us much better than a large ship. The accommodation was surprisingly spacious and comfortable. The captain and crew did their best to make us feel at home and we did. Our Naturalist guide, Jamie ruled our days like a military commander. He was determined we should made the most of our visit but in a gentle and patient way. He gave us enough information without making it seem like a school outing. Our fellow passengers turned out to be an enjoyable crowd and we all got on well together as we shared and laughed about ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ landings! Altogether a five star experience and we would not hesitate to travel with them again. I can highly recommend Jacarda Travel. We met other people on our trip who had arranged their vacation with Jacarda and they were as impressed as we were.
If I could, I would give Jacada six stars. I have traveled extensively over the last fifty-five years everywhere in the world except Sub-Saharan Africa which was an unknown region to me. I decided to rely on a travel firm to arrange this trip due to my ignorance. Having looked at several travel organizations, I decided on Jacada due to the positive information available and the outstanding way in which they handled my initial inquiry. I was not wrong. The entire process of finalizing the trip was a pleasure and I was treated both courteously and efficiently. I more or less went along with their recommendations and have to say that the trip was one of the most pleasant of my life. Everything was perfect, both from a logistic standpoint and cultural one. All of the guest houses, lodges, and hotels were wonderful as were the sightseeing which was arranged for us. Before leaving, I wondered how it would be possible for so many arrangements to work as planned but they did! I was amazed that there was not even the slightest glitch. The places we visited on our sightseeing were exactly what we wanted to see and do. The travels around Cape Town took us to places which are stunning and unique. A gourmet tour of Cape Town was special including visits to local eating places.. Our stays in the game reserves near Kruger Park were a grand success in all senses. We saw all of the different animals, the accommodations were stellar, as was the food, and the attention both from the guides and the house staff incomparable. I cannot recommend any firm more highly and without question will use their services on my next trip to Africa. They know the area and what their clients like to see and do. I congratulate them on running such a good organization.
From the very beginning to the end of the trip, Bryon was superb. He listened to our interests and guided us in selecting the best itinerary and lodgings for us. Every detail in country was handled perfectly. We were met by knowledgeable in country airport guides and drivers. The hotels were marvelous and we usually were given free upgrades. The private guides were knowledgeable and took us to all of the places that we hoped to see. Worth every penny of the cost.
Emily Opie who was our travel consultant did an outstanding job. Lima, Sacred Valley, Cusco and of course Machu Picchu were outstanding experienced. The guides, the food, the accommodations were all wonderful.
When we contacted Jacada we knew we wanted to go to southern Africa and had a vague idea of what we were looking for (safari, young animals, nice accomodations, etc.) But other than that we were clueless. Tessa Van Der Walt from Jacada listened to us, took into account our budget and time allowance and designed the PERFECT trip from start to finish. It far exceeded our expectations and was the trip of a lifetime. We saw and experienced much more than we thought possible; not only the big five, but youngsters of every species. The people we met along the way were incredible and the accomodations, food and service were fantastic!
My husband and I took a trip to Chile with Jacada Travel. We visited Santiago, Patagonia and the wine country. George, our agent with Jacada, helped to plan a perfect trip! Our accommodations were incredible, all of the transfers arranged by Jacada were perfect without any glitches, and everyone involved very friendly, helpful and professional. I would absolutely recommend traveling with Jacada to anyone. It was an amazing vacation, exactly what my husband and I were expecting.
We are big travelers, and have only worked with one other company in planning our travel. Jacada went above and beyond, and George was a pleasure to work with. We always had reliable transportation waiting for us, helpful guides, and best of all discovered towns and restaurants that we would not have stumbled across. Would recommend them to anyone traveling in uncharted territory that wants quality service, accommodations, and advice. Thanks for a great trip!
We have just completed a two week adventure to Tanzania and Zambia with a day trip into Chobe National Park in Botswana. Planning for a trip to Africa is not like planning a trip to other North American destinations. It requires a lot of research and is very different from we are used to arranging. Accommodations vary from hostels to luxury. With what we wanted in mind we contacted several companies and the one we chose was Jacada Travel based in London, England. Jacada planned an amazing safari for just the two of us. Everything was totally planned and that is what we wanted. Questions were answered quickly and the trip was exactly what Jacada set out for us. We couldn’t have been happier. Way to go Jacada!
George Warren at Jacada was easy to work with as well very informative and knowledgeable. He was responsive to emails and willing to answer any and all questions we had. His itinerary was excellent and priced well. George stayed in touch with us during our trip and when we wanted to make a change to our plans for the last day it was done without any extra charges and we had a great day! We look forward to working with George and Jacada in the future.
Wonderful service Externally Efficient Attentive to clients needs Detail oriented
I used Jacada to book my honeymoon and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Our agent was Samantha Kelly and despite the incessant questions, she was always incredibly patient and attentive to all our requests. All of the accommodations and events that she recommended were stunning and perfectly suited for our tastes. The beach hotel in Cape Town, celebrity chef lunch, safari lodge near Kruger, and the resort in Livingstone all were organized exceptionally well and was a perfect ending to a perfect wedding. I sincerely thank Sam for all her hard work however I blame her now for being depressed back at work and no longer treated like a king. Thank you Sam and the rest of the Jacada team!!!! Matt and Meg
Overall the trip was a huge success. As we noted the planned transportation was greatly needed, as the roads are treacherous and we were able to enjoy ourselves while relaxing in the vans. The hotels were top notch and had all the ammenities we needed. The only comment I would have about dining options, we were hoping for more local restaurants to try. All the hotel and tour staff were friendly, informative and talkative. All the planned activities were enjoyable and fun – the rafting, ziplining, golfing, hiking were exceptional. The only tour that was a disappointment was the Kayaking. It was boring and the guide was not able to spot any wildlife. The beer was cold though. Overall we would recommend this trip to friends. It was nice to be with our friends and have many memories to share. The only unfortunate event was I lost my camera on the day of the hike/spa visit. We contacted the local travel agency but they were not very responsive nor helpful. Needless to say losing my camera with all my photos put a bit of a damper on the rest of our stay. They did not say they would follow up. We told them exactly where it could be. A bit more urgency would have been warranted and appreciated.
Before taking this very expensive and unique trip, I contacted many agencies including the well known A and K. NO ONE paid attention to my concerns, requests and concerns like Byron Thomas from Jacada travel. It was really a collaboration that with his knowledge and my desires led to the most amazing trip ever!! Cannot wait to do it again. Here’s to you Byron. Cheers and thank you!
I’ve actually made the following review below and already made recommendations to my friend. Can’t beat Jacada, especially in Africa. My good friend, Byron, was a big help in arranging this wonderful trip. Since the destination doesn’t have to be limited to South Africa, take a look at the website for a full range of choices and price. The trip is fully customized to your needs and taste (not to forget flexible price range), so feel free to browse and ask Byron for any questions. I initially tried to book the African honeymoon through a travel agent in Korea which I personnally know (someone quite famous for arranging trips with Samsung partners and so on). But honestly speaking, professionally, I have no doubt Jacada Travel was a better choice. Personally as well, Byron’s a good sport. You won’t regret choosing Jacada and especially, Africa.
With many thanks to Byron who organised a pretty fantastic last minute week in Cape Town. All went very very smoothly although we organised our own flights and a two night stay at a guest house the connections between the whole week was the best. He worked very hard from the start to find us accommodation in what was a very busy time in the city. We were even met airside by their ground staff. The Cape Grace hotel organised by him was fantastic and only wish we could have stayed longer. We think we must have had the best room. A very special thank you to him.
I have had the opportunity to work with George Warren of Jacada to plan two trips – last year to Argentina and Uruguay and this year to Costa Rica. I have also used Jacada’s ground services in South Africa. I have found that Jacada executes flawless vacations to some of the best locations in the world. They pay special attention to the specific details and interests of the client and then create an itinerary that meets those expectations. It is done so seemingly effortlessly that it is often only after the trip is concluded that you realize how exceptionally it was choreographed. You get the best rooms in the best locations. In every trip the logistics were as described and drivers and transfers were on time. George is especially attentive and interested in making the experience as wonderful as possible. He travels to the destinations and accommodations he recommends so you know you will be treated well. I would recommend Jacada without reservation.
Anna and Jen really helped us structure our vacation (where to go, where to stay and what to do). We loved the places they recommended to us. Once we were on the ground in Costa Rica, everything was taken care of — it was a completely stress free vacation.
George Warren (Jacada) tailor made a vacation to Chile/Easter Island for my group of friends. Because he has visited Chile many times, he was able to suggest the best places to visit and offered great hotel accommodations. He prepared us for the 4 seasons of climate one might experience in Patagonia, which we did. A representative was there every step of the way (7 flights). Overall we had a great experience.
This was a great experience working with Jacada. They really customized our Brazil experience to what we needed!
Celebrating fifty years of marriage was a joyous experience in Argentina. The planning with Jacada was easy and first class all the way, Showing up was our only responsibility and everything else was done or waiting for us. Having our personal agent who was totally familiar with Argentina made the custom planning for our wants, a cinch. Food, guides, estancias, and side excursions were superb quality. Personally, Patagonia stole my heart along with the wonderful horseback riding at all of the establishments. The staff and the gauchos only added to our comforts. We will most definitely go through Jacada again.
Jacada helped our family plan a trip of a lifetime. The value of working with an agency with local contacts was clear when we faced travel delays. Jacada’s people were on the ground in Santiago, greeted us as we deplaned and ran us through customs and to our next connecting flight. We literally would not have made it without them. Tierra Patagonia, Ciara’ recommendation for Patagonia, was truly outstanding. Use them!
We have been to many places all over the globe and this trip is by far our most memorable. From the very beginning Samantha (Sam) Kelly made the whole process enjoyable. She mapped out a great itinerary that was incredible. The lodging, food, guides and field trips exceeded our expectations. We would recommend using Jacada Travel to anyone that wants to visit Africa. Make sure you ask for Sam.
I found Jacada on the internet and they provided us a tour with everything we wanted. They responded quickly and professionally. We had excellent guides and felt very comfortable traveling in Peru. All our accommodation were superior which was great after hiking the Inca Trail. We were extremely pleased our entire trip!
Our first family trip to Zambia and South Africa, planned by Byron, was so amazing that we recently booked another family trip to Ecuador/Galapagos. We know it’s going to be memorable! The whole team offered us great customer service, and we would recommend to everyone! I am so excited that Jacada has now expanded to Asia!
Using Jacada Travel was the best thing we did otherwise I am quite sure that our special 30th anniversary trip to South Africa would not have been as magical as it was. We were looked after from the moment my husband called them and nothing was too much trouble for them. Adjusting itinerary to suit what we wanted and being able to flex things to get it just right and within our budget was brilliant. The preparation before the trip, attention to every little detail, the amazing itinerary and the information that was sent to us prior to departure was just excellent. We were looked after like Royalty from the moment we stepped off the plane at our destination until we boarded again to go home. All transfers, trips etc. were done by professional staff and we were never kept waiting. The quality of the hotels, rooms and little ‘extra’s were all something else and I cannot wait to travel with them again! It really is the only way to do it!
This is the first time I ever used Jacada Travel and I am spoiled for life. The vacation was perfect. The hotels, driver and tour guides were exceptional.
I would refer Jacada(Byron to be exact) to the closest of friends and family for all travel to South Africa. Jacada and Byron, our representative, went above and beyond to assure that all of our needs were met and that this trip was fully executed to our standards. We had no regrets, hiccups or reasons to think otherwise. My wife and I can’t wait to book our next excursion through Jacada!
From the first phone call Jacada Travel was so professional, knowledgable, and helpful in the planning of our honeymoon trip. Jacada went well above and beyond what businesses do these days for their clients. We received a perfect itinerary so that we knew exactly what we needed to know for making such a trip. Their suggestions were “spot on” as for places to stay. Each new destination was as fabulous as they’d promised and every detail was always there. I can’t thank them enough for such a beautiful trip and I look forward to working with them in the future. Thank you with all my heart Jacada. The white roses in the rooms did not go unnoticed either. You are absolutely top notch and first class.
I had a fantastic experience with Jacada Travel. My father and I worked with Byron at Jacada to plan a safari in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. From the initial planning stages through the end of our trip, Jacada provided thoughtful, high-level service. It was one of the best trips we have taken and we will definitely return to Jacada for the next trip!
Our 10-week trip to Argentina, Chile, Easter Island, Bolivia and Brazil was amazingly executed down to the smallest detail, which was no small feat. Everything was pretty much perfect – the recommended hotels and excursions amazing and perfect for the family. A lovely touch was the personalised message, from George, in each new hotel welcoming us to the hotel and the new area. No complaints!
I could sense that the Travel Designer (Jennifer) is somehow tracking our every move and always communicating with the people on the ground that on the needs to have her clients be looked after well. Our journey was tight with many early flights to catch (new year’s day at 4 am). Assistance to ensure breakfast is available at check out desk at early hours; guide in attendace to ensure assistance on check in in crowded and non english speaking airline ground staff is taken care off are some of the small things that makes the difference in our travel experience. Of course getting the best rooms at the best hotel/resort repeatedly is another crown to Jacada! I think it is not only about money that you paid but the extra effort that you could feel that makes the difference. In my view in areas where they have control, they have done exceptionally well. Highly recomended and thanks to Jennifer!
This trip was vey well organized, not a glitch, everything went as planned and we had a wonderful time. Great trip!
Jacada planned a wonderful two week trip for us. Everything was set to perfection. Hotels, travel, tours, and everything else set up through Jacada was amazing. You definitely get the service and trip you pay for. We would and will use them again for another trip.
Wonderful trip to Galapagos and Quito. I would have liked to have spent more time in Otavalo but had no clue about its charms. The tour guide in Quito did not make much effort in friendliness. Was she not compensated enough? Perhaps Westerners are all similarly treated with some disdain which is entirely understandable. Jacada was always in contact with me during the planning and all expectations were met. I would definitely use Jacada again for my next extraordinary vacation.
Jacada travel organized a vacation for me that was perfect from beginning to end. I was asked what my desires were, what I most wanted to do and see in South Africa and then my rep, Bryan, made suggestions of his own. The result was a trip of a lifetime, mingling deeply moving experiences delving into the difficult history of this country with the amazingly vibrant city life of Cape Town and the eternal wonders of safari in two different safari camps. I had all the security of an organized tour with the personalization and solitude of my own private experience. I have special needs due to a mobility handicap and this was handled in a way that made me feel completely able and unhindered. I would never have thought that I could enjoy a vacation like this, but Jacada made it possible.
The fact that all the details were done for us, made our trip worry free. It was nice to know that we had a car at our disposal, and both the tour guide and driver were knowledgeable of the area. We were asked what we wanted to see, and we were able to deviate from our plans and go somewhere else without a hassle. I particularly liked the idea that I could sleep a little later and arrange my city tours on my schedule. The New Years Eve event was worth the whole trip. It was different than any other New Years celebration I had experienced. And to end off the trip the tour guide stayed with us in the airport because it was so crowded due to renovation. If he was not there speaking Spanish to the flight attendant, we would not have know which line to go to expedite our check-in. He didn’t leave us until we were safely at customs.
Our trip to Chile was fantastic! George helped to plan a perfectly orchestrated trip. The Cliffs Reserve was promised to be a surprise thriller for our family. After trusting George with this recommendation the true surprise was that it was even better than promised. An “out of the way” hidden gem with a staff that compares to none that we have ever had at any 5 star resort. My family begged not to leave after 4 nights and we miss everything about our stay at Cliffs. We had an amazing trip filled with wonderful extremes from rain forest to desert. Horseback riding on the beach, sand boarding on giant sand and salt dunes, shopping in Santiago, hiking, exploring salt flats, great food and wine and learning about Chile-perfect!
This was our first experience with a travel agency such as Jacada Travel. Our contact was Byron Thomas and without fail he answered all our questions and requests. He was an excellent contact. The whole trip was extremely well organized and there was not a hitch in our stay. The places Byron chose were all better than we had expected. From our experience we rate Jacada Travel as A1 and would recommend them to all.
Jacada listened and responded well to our brief. The itinerary they suggested was just right for us. Hotels were well chosen, guides and transfers were high quality. They created an excellent holiday for us.
My sister and I had been planning a trip to Africa for years. We just never knew how to get started. We spoke to Byron at Jacada and he took care of everything!! He was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t be happier with the trip. It was honestly the best two weeks I’ve ever had. I will never plan a trip without Byron again!
We have stayed in amazing places and had daily adventures both planned and unplanned in Costa Rica. The people here are friendly, knowlegable and hospitable. We have learned so much about coffee and chocolate production as well as the native flora and fauna. The rafting on the Pacuare River was so fun thanks to the expert guides who made us feel safe. The beach is beautiful and the water temperature is perfect. The water is too rough, however, for kayaking and snorkeling at this time of year. There is plenty to do even on rainy or cloudy days like touring a cocoa plantation where the cocoa is processed into chocolate bars and you can taste and compare chocolate from different regions. This is a rich culture. We would like to come again.
I consider myself lucky to have found Jacada to plan our trip to the Galapagos Islands. We could not have been more pleased every step of the way. They exceeded our expectations and I can recommend them highly and will absolutely use them again!
Jacada is the best for South Africa travels.
I can honestly say this tour was beyond all expectations. I was blown away by all accommodations and experiences, and Tess was a dream to deal with.
I recommend Jacada highly to anyone – our trip was perfectly planned – all of our guides were great, our hotels were great, the itinerary was well thought out. We will use Jacada again when we next travel abroad. Jen, our agent there, thought of every detail and had the trip highly organized. Thanks to the thoughtful planning, we had an incredible family trip!
