Highlights

Visit the epic Arenal Volcano

Explore vibrant San Jose, enjoying great coffee shops, bars and wonderful architecture

Sail through the lush rainforests of Tortuguero in a boat, kayak or canoe

Relax on one of the many pristine beaches

This has to be one of my favourite places for the ultimate romantic escape in Central America. Leave the city behind to stay in the peaceful Cloud Forest or delve deeper to the middle of the rainforest and experience a luxury eco-lodge. Search for sleepy sloths, morpho blue butterflies, howler monkeys and scarlet macaws as you enter their home in the forest. Another must is a private helicopter ride over the green canopy, active volcanoes and lushes waterfalls – it is magical.
