When to visit Patagonia
Generally speaking, the best time to visit Patagonia is during the summer months of December to February. This period signifies better weather and slightly warmer temperatures for more comfortable hiking. Across the region, which stretches through southern parts of Chile and Argentina, you can expect temperatures to reach 15°C (59°F) during the day.
You can also visit during the shoulder months of September to November and March to May, when spring wildflowers and autumn foliage punctuate the trails.
While in winter (June to August), it can be a great destination for skiing, it’s important to note that many trails and lodges close due to snowy and cold conditions.
