Luxury travel to the Argentine Lake District

Snowy Peaks and Crystalline Lakes

The Argentine Lake District is a beautiful, picture-postcard region of snow capped peaks, forested slopes, crystalline lakes and rivers. A stop here adds a wonderfully tranquil dimension to any of our Argentina tours.

This is the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors with all manner of outdoor activities possible including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, golf, horse riding, kayaking, mountaineering, rafting and skiing.

The hotels and lodges in the Lake District that we’ve carefully selected for our Argentina tours are in one of two areas, either in the Bariloche area (though well outside the city itself and in the pristine nature of the surrounding area) or in Villa La Angostura, a beautiful picturesque village set just a couple of hours drive from Bariloche. Development here has been slight and very well controlled, making this a place for seclusion and relaxation.

When to go

The Lake District is good all year round, as winter is good for skiing and the summer for other outdoor pursuits such as hiking.

What to do
  • Mountain biking

  • Hiking

  • Boat trips

  • Fishing

  • Enjoying the excellent cuisine of the region
