Where to go in Belize
Ambergris Caye
Ambergris Caye is Belize’s largest island. It is known for its stunning beaches and exciting water activities. This region is also home to Belize Barrier Reef and the Great Blue hole. Experiences such as diving and snorkelling are ultimate must-dos here as sealife abounds.
Cayo District
Belize’s Cayo District sits along the border with Guatemala. Winding rivers, spectacular waterfalls and ancient Mayan ruins make up the varied landscapes of the region. This is the ultimate haven for adventurous travellers and historical buffs looking for unique experiences.
Mountain Pine Ridge
Home to some of Belize’s most magnificent waterfalls, Mountain Pine Ridge is a protected area of Caribbean Pine forest. The region is replete with different species of birds and other animals. Explore the area on a trekking excursion or if you are feeling adventurous, there are plenty of opportunities to set off on mountain-biking expeditions.
Orange Walk
With a combination of dense jungles, ancient Maya ruins and a cocktail of cultures, this multifaceted region of Belize promises a wide variety of experiences. Placencia
Placencia is a charming sleepy fishing village on the Caribbean coast of Belize. The region makes for one of the best places to enjoy palm-fringed beaches and water activities such as deep sea fishing, kayaking and diving.
Punta Gorda
Punta Gorda, in the southernmost part of Belize might often be forgotten by travellers but perhaps that’s what makes it even more special. This laidback region offers the perfect mix of reef and rainforest, with emerald jungle covering the rolling Maya Mountains and pristine rivers running into the clear warm waters of the Caribbean.

When to visit Belize
The dry season between mid-November and late April is the best time to visit Belize for a beach holiday. As from July, the rainy season settles in and visitors can expect daily tropical showers.
The best time to go snorkelling at Ambergris Caye is between December and May when visibility is at its best. Aim for April if exploring Mayan archeological sites is high on your list, it’s a dry month which means to won’t have to worry about rain and muddy trails.
