A sleepy beachfront town on the southern coast of Belize, Placencia is a place to relax, enjoying the long beaches, as well as the offshore snorkelling and diving.

Though more development is happening here Placencia still retains a very laid back vibe and is a great place to unwind. Boat trips can be taken to explore the corals and cayes further out into the sea.

When to go

From mid-November to late April is the dry season and perfect for a beach holiday. May to June is still okay to travel, although towards July the rainy season is well underway.
