When to visit Switzerland
Switzerland rewards visitors year-round. Winter (December–February) brings reliable snow at higher altitudes for skiing and snowshoeing, though lower valleys may stay surprisingly green. Spring and summer transform the landscape and alpine meadows with wildflowers, and even July feels pleasantly cool in mountain areas. Autumn ignites the trees in gold and amber, but sees far fewer crowds.
