    South Korea's second city

Busan is South Korea‘s second-most populous city after Seoul and the economic and cultural centre of southeastern Korea.

Its port is among the world’s busiest and this energy can be found on its streets where gleaming high-rises fill the gaps between green mountains and the beach while elegant bridges span across the sea.

Often overlooked by visitors, its attractions which have long been loved by the locals – an energetic restaurant and nightlife scene, thronging fish markets, scenic hikes, ancient temples and colourful villages – are slowly being discovered by the outside world, making for a fascinating city where you can see many sides of modern Korean life.

Although exact dates for the cherry blossom cannot be guaranteed, your best chance of seeing it is to visit from late March to mid-April. If you travel on a South Korea private tour from September to November, you’ll be treated to an explosion of autumn colour, while winter is great for winter sports enthusiasts. July to August is South Korea’s monsoon season, so we suggested avoiding this time of year.
