Ever since stepping off a plane in Bangkok as a backpacker in 2007, I’ve been infatuated with Asia. My first experience was an overland journey through Thailand and Malaysia to Singapore, taking in the hustle and bustle of big cities, spectacular landscapes, national parks and pure white sandy beaches.
From Singapore, I flew to Australia where I lived for nearly three years – but Asia was never far from my mind. Being a relatively short flight from Melbourne, I was able to spend my holidays exploring this spectacularly diverse region. Ensuing adventures included hopping through Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos where cultures and cuisines can change dramatically in the blink of an eye. I also made several return trips to Thailand to explore the north of the country and lounge on my favourite hidden beaches on the islands.
My most recent trip was to wonderful India which really reignited my passion for Asia – it was like discovering it all over again. I spent my time relaxing on the beaches in the south, went vegetarian for two weeks and tried my hand – and the rest of me – at practicing yoga the traditional way, I love researching new experiences to keep travel fresh and exciting. Ask me about rooftop bars with a view – I seek them out wherever I go!
