South Africa Family Safaris and Tours

Enjoy a private tour of South Africa, designed for your family

Exceptional and Easy Family Adventures, Expertly Planned.

We can’t really tell you enough how South Africa is the perfect destination for a family trip.

With such a spoiling choice of locations, landscapes that beg to be explored, and a dizzying breadth of activities to decide upon; we can help you create a trip that not only matches the make-up of your family (be it travelling with toddlers, grandparents or teenagers) but that every member gets to enjoy it with all the ease, comfort and personal service you’re looking for.

We have extensive experience in dealing with family holidays and your personal safari designer will shoulder the detailed planning and a personal itinerary organised to the highest standards. From effortless transfers between all your chosen lodgings, baby-sitter services, restaurant recommendations and bookings, to a diplomatic balance of activities and relaxation that will keep everyone entertained and superb local guides to look after you every step of the way.

Be it river-rafting on the Tugela, horse-riding and whale-watching on the Garden Route, perhaps private game drives and a remote safari villa just for your family. We can get you to the wildest corners of the Kalahari, the best beach resorts on the Capes and all the close-up encounters with nature’s mighty kingdom as you want.

See our example family trips below, or we can help to design one from scratch.

Whatever you want from your Africa tour, our team of expert travel designers are ready to help.

When to go

Cape Town and along the Garden Route are great to visit any time of year, but early summer when the winds drops are particularly pleasant. If you're visiting for safari, the dry winter months are often considered the best but the wetter summer months bring full waterholes, lush bushveld and lots of newborn animals.

Meet your Africa Team

Exploring the South African Winelands is a common weekend activity for me. As a local, I tend to steer clear of the ‘touristy’ estates and I have found quite a few favourites so far.

As a keen traveller, I have an intimate knowledge of South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia and southern Mozambique, as well as Uganda, Rwanda, and even Virunga National Park in DR Congo.

I was born in Tanzania and grew up in Kenya, where I developed a genuine love of the people, landscapes and wildlife of this beautiful country.

Some of my most memorable travel experiences include kayaking in Antarctica, horse-back riding in El Calafate in Argentina, gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda, climbing Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro and getting up close and personal with polar bears in arctic Canada.

Over the past 10 years, I have reported from nearly 70 countries, including Greenland, Brazil, Namibia, South Africa, Kenya, Bhutan, Nepal, the Seychelles, Bali, Thailand, and elsewhere around South-East Asia.

Born to parents who had travelled and lived in Eastern and Southern Africa, their exciting stories ignited a passion for exploration.
