Itinerary in detail

Every Jacada trip is tailored to your personal preferences and interests. Below you’ll find a sample itinerary to inspire your own custom-designed journey.

Days 1–5

Family fun in South Africa's Winelands

On landing in Cape Town, you’ll be met airside by a Jacada representative, assisted through immigration and helped with your baggage collection. It’s then on to the serenely beautiful open countryside of the Winelands. During your time here you’ll enjoy heaps of outdoor activities and privately guided tours as well as some fun excursions to see the sights – particularly the wonderful penguin colony at Boulders Beach. We can also recommend and arrange reservations at the best vineyards and restaurants.

Discovering the Winelands

Sightseeing

Horseback riding

A day of exploration

A private guide will lead you through the Winelands’ mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. In Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, explore canal-lined avenues before heading onward over the scenic Helshoogte Pass to the café-lined streets of Franschhoek. Before a final stop in Paarl, you could also opt for a family quad biking adventure.

An adventure on horseback

Enjoy a beautiful horseback ride with your family through South Africa’s adventure playground. Along the way, tuck into a tasty gourmet picnic and stop off for a cheese and chocolate tasting session which youngsters will love.

The sights of the Cape

Cape Point and Peninsula

Take one of the most scenic journeys in the world on a privately guided tour. You’ll enjoy a scenic drive up Chapman’s Peak with incredible views of the ocean to your right as the road winds around narrow corners. The typical highlights might include quaint villages such as Noordhoek and the bustling fishing suburb of Kalk Bay.

The Cape of Good Hope

Along this rocky coastline, take in the unique Cape Fynbos vegetation, home to bird-life such as African Black Oystercatchers and Cape Sugarbirds. You might also spot the Cape Mountain Zebra, Bontebok, ostrich and Baboon as you enter the Cape of Good Hope National Park. You’ll climb to the famous Cape Point Lighthouse to capture the magical vistas of False Bay, and stop at the south western most point of Africa – the fabled Cape of Good Hope itself. We can also arrange cycling tours along the same scenic, winding road.

Simon's Town and Boulders Beach

At Boulders Beach, an exciting close-up encounter with African Penguins awaits. Well-placed wooden walkways allow you to see these delightful little creatures in their natural habitat without invading their privacy. The drive here will also take you through the historical naval village of Simonstown and over a spectacular mountain pass, Boyes Drive.

Days 5–9

Four days on safari in Sabi Sands

You’ll enjoy four days relaxing at your luxury lodge and exploring the world-famous Sabi Sands reserve with your family. Here you can kick-start your full-on wildlife adventure with morning and afternoon game drives, tracking the Big Five among other animals. There are various other optional activities we can arrange, too: just ask your travel designer for the full lowdown.

Days 9–13

Relaxation in the Bazaruto Archipelago

Finally, unwind on the beautiful beaches of Mozambique, lapped by the crystal clear waters of the warm Indian Ocean. Opt for a private beach villa on the mainland or a stylish island hideaway: the choice is yours. During your time here you’ll enjoy activities focused around the beach and ocean, from gourmet picnics on a sandbank and football on the beach to guided snorkelling trips, superb diving and idyllic private boat trips.
