Jacada Travel creates authentic, bespoke and luxurious trips to Southeast Asia. Drawing on our wealth of experience and expertise, our trips are created to suit you perfectly and deliver unforgettable experiences.

For the ultimate adventure combine the different countries from the region, visiting the highlights that suit you best. You can include vibrant cities, pristine beaches, lush landscapes, fascinating historical sites and cultural hubs across Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

There’s the phenomenal ruins of Angkor Wat and the peaceful Tonle Sap lake in Cambodia which contrast wonderfully with a few nights Thailand’s vibrant and bustling Bangkok. If you’re looking for activities, try combining yacht trips in Indonesia’s Raja Ampat with hikes and hot air ballooning in northern Thailand’s Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Foodies are spoiled for choice in Southeast Asia; devour regional dishes in Thailand, enjoy exciting night-time street food tours in Vietnam and try Indian, Chinese and Malay dishes all under one roof in Kuala Lumpur.

Explore protected marine parks and feast on fresh seafood in Phuket, one of Thailands beautiful beach destinations

Take a cooking class and learn how to make some of Southeast Asia’s most-loved and tasty dishes

Southeast Asia is a region close to my heart. There really is something for everyone; from couples on a honeymoon and multi-generation families, to those looking for adventure and foodies as well as countless stunning destinations for those wishing to relax. It's also incredibly scenic with many natural highlights and fascinating history. I also love the vibrant cities where our charismatic local guides will lift the curtain on modern Southeast Asia.

Luxury accommodation in Southeast Asia

There are many incredible places to stay in Southeast Asia, here are some of our favourites, handpicked by our travel designers:
nihi_sumba_island_indonesia_aerial

Sumba

NIHI Sumba Island
Regarded as one of the finest resorts in the world, NIHI Sumba Island, formerly known as Nihiwatu, has a blissfully remote location on West Sumba. This eco-friendly resort takes a responsible approach to hospitability, and its restaurants make use of organically grown produce from the grounds, while its foundation and community outreach programmes seek to benefit and upskill the local villages, and protect the environment. Positioned within the diverse natural setting of 438 acres of tropical forest, rice terraces and grasslands on a private stretch of beautiful beach, NIHI Sumba Island provides utter scenic seclusion. All rooms are tucked amongst the trees, with huge windows and private terraces or balconies boasting expansive sea views. With 32 villas, all made from reclaimed wood by local craftsmen and furnished with unique regional artefacts, the accommodation here is exceptional. Meanwhile, the restaurant is a fusion between Eastern and Western cuisine, with an extremely accommodating team and chef. Though dining tends to be a communal affair with couples, families and friends, the staff will happily arrange private dining in your room or at one of many private romantic locations among the grounds. During the day, guests can try their hand at surfing along the beach or take in the Sumbanese countryside and culture by horseback. Those looking for a more relaxing pursuit can indulge in the Jungle Spa, with a massage or yoga class. There’s also fishing trips, stand-up paddleboarding and diving to be enjoyed, plus destination dining and a sea turtle hatchery.

song-saa-cambodia

Song Saa

Song Saa private island resort
Song Saa is a beautiful eco-resort that sits across the islands of Koh Bong and Koh Ouen, which are affectionately known as the Sweetheart Islands. Accessible by a 45-minute speedboat journey from the mainland, Song Saa is the perfect place to completely unwind and explore southern Cambodia’s stunning coastline. The resort was built with sustainability in mind, and reclaimed timber and other materials from the mainland were used in its construction. Salvaged wood from old fishing boats and factory yards were turned into decking and beams, oil drums became lamps, and weathered driftwood was crafted into beautiful pieces of furniture. Set in a self-made marine reserve, Song Saa is also home to a team of marine biologists, implements recycling practices, and is involved in the funding and founding of sustainability projects in the area. The 24 luxury pool villas are scatted across the island, some nestled within the rainforest along the shoreline and others perched over the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Thailand. The open-plan design of the villas creates a real sense of space and light and the natural decor and design compliments the surrounding environment. For the ultimate exclusive escape, the two-bedroom Royal Villa is reached by private boat and has its own pool, kitchen and indoor dining space for up to 12 guests. Locally caught seafood and seasonal fruits and vegetables are used to create delicious Khmer cuisine at the overwater Vista Restaurant. Driftwood Bar on the beach is an ideal spot to grab a crisp beer or a mojito, along with a wood-fired pizza or some tapas as the sun goes down. Dotted around the resort are little sanctuaries where you can indulge in a spa treatment surrounded by nature. There’s also a large infinity pool, a fitness centre and yoga sessions for those that like to keep active while away. You’re surrounded by white sandy beaches and crystal clear water, so grab a snorkelling mask, a paddleboard or a kayak and explore. Alternatively, take to the rainforest trails and discover the native plants and wildlife.

Luang Prabang

Rosewood Luang Prabang
Set amid a scene of lush green jungle that surrounds the historical and captivating city of Luang Prabang is the Rosewood hotel. Throughout, you will detect a combination of blissful natural characteristics with charming and authentic features. An exotic retreat that celebrates the essence of experiential travel, guests will also be treated to a touch of local tradition, with architectural themes and décor reflecting that of colonial and Laotian style. Dotted throughout the verdant grounds are 23 spacious accommodations, consisting of four deluxe rooms, four speciality suites, three riverside villas, six pool villas and six luxury tents. All exemplifying Lao tradition and French colonial style, each accommodation features stunning furnishings with use of indigenous materials and local artwork. The rooms and suites are located on the riverside and benefit from wonderful views of the mountainous setting, while the riverside villas are calmed by the soundtrack of the gentle flow of water. The pool villas are immersed in nature, boasting their own private pool, outdoor wooden bathtubs and private bar, while the hilltop tents are hidden away, affording amazing views that are best enjoyed from the sofas that sit on the private balcony. The Great House restaurant serves up delicious Laotian regional specialities, and has a farm-to-the-table philosophy in order to support the local community. The Elephant Bridge Bar promises relaxation and refreshments with its cocktail list and Laotian bar snacks, while for an extra sense of rejuvenation, the Sense spa presents a range of luxury treatments and signature holistic offerings. If you need to cool down, the retreat’s inviting swimming pool, set next to a natural waterfall, is the perfect antidote to a busy day exploring Luang Prabang.

Chiang Mai

137 Pillars Chiang Mai

The charming guestrooms all come with the lavish features, garden views, contemporary interiors, walk-in closet, Victorian bathtub and open-air shower. amanjiwo-main-building

Java

Amanjiwo
Sitting within a natural amphitheatre in central rural Java, the Menoreh Hills rising gently behind it and four volcanoes flanking either side (Sumbing and Sundoro to the west, Merbabu and Merapi to the east), the luxurious and decadent Amanjiwo hotel is quite simply mesmerising. Furthermore across the Kedu Plain, Amanjiwo looks out to Borobudur, the 9th century Buddhist sanctuary and UNESCO World Heritage site: the sole reason many come to Java. Taking this site as inspiration, the shape of Borobudur is very much reflected in the architecture and style of Amanjiwo with its 36 suites set in two graceful crescents around a central rotunda. The suites feature high ceilings with domed roofs, outdoor sunken stone baths within a high walled garden, marble floors and a raised four poster bed. Some of the spacious sun terraces come with their own private pool offering ultimate privacy. High limestone walls give shape to the walkways that link the suites to the main building, and that winds down to the forty-metre infinity pool. In spite of your privileged views, a private tour to Borobudur cannot be missed. Watching the shadows of the Buddha’s shift and the sky burn as the sun rises over Mount Merapi is truly a magical experience. We can arrange entry to the temple before dawn, avoiding the crowds, allowing plenty of time to reach the summit in relative peace.
