Family Safaris to Tanzania

Enjoy a Private Safari Tour of Tanzania, designed for your family

A Huge Choice of Action-Packed to Softer Safari Adventures plus our Expert Service

Tanzania offers a huge scope of safari for families.

Depending on your tastes, preferences, ages and abilities we’ll help you choose from the really wild game concessions in its lesser known corners with authentic campaign-style camps. Action-packed game drives in the Serengeti. To softer wildlife experiences matched with more sophisticated lodges. There is a lot of choice, and we can help put together a bespoke itinerary that fits you all perfectly.

From our experience, Tanzania is a country better suited to older families as the choices for young families here are quite limited given the remote locations, age restrictions at the accommodation, and the level of travelling involved with many of its destinations. Nevertheless, we have a great portfolio of family-friendly lodges, camps and villas in Tanzania that have kids clubs and special activities for younger children so please speak to one of our consultants.

However the experiences can be magnificent; tracking chimpanzees in the Mahale Mountains to stalking the predators of Katavi or the peaceful watery surroundings of the Selous.

Your personal safari designer will advise and recommend on the best places to stay and tours to be had as a family. They will shoulder the detailed planning and a personal itinerary organised to the highest of standards.

Whatever you want from your Africa tour, our team of expert travel designers are ready to help.

Exploring the South African Winelands is a common weekend activity for me. As a local, I tend to steer clear of the ‘touristy’ estates and I have found quite a few favourites so far.

As a keen traveller, I have an intimate knowledge of South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia and southern Mozambique, as well as Uganda, Rwanda, and even Virunga National Park in DR Congo.

I was born in Tanzania and grew up in Kenya, where I developed a genuine love of the people, landscapes and wildlife of this beautiful country.

Some of my most memorable travel experiences include kayaking in Antarctica, horse-back riding in El Calafate in Argentina, gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda, climbing Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro and getting up close and personal with polar bears in arctic Canada.
