Excellent game viewing all year round

The largest private reserve in Tanzania, to go on safari in Singita Grumeti is a truly privileged experience. Created in 1994 by the Tanzanian government, this reserve was intended to protect the path of the wildebeest as they migrate each year, as well as help to preserve the biodiversity of this incredibly important ecosystem.

An area of around 350,000 acres of untouched wilderness, the reserve is exclusive to Singita properties, which means that your visit here is going to be unrivalled in terms of privacy and you will have exclusive traversing rights to the game that is just as rich as the Serengeti National Park.

During June and July you can see some wonderful sightings of the wildebeest and zebra migration as it makes its way north through the reserve, but this region has great game viewing year-round. There are also a number of healthy lion prides in this region, large herds of elephants and packs of hyenas, as well as a few leopards you may be lucky enough to spot.

If you fancy a lodge with an Edwardian Manor House style, a luxurious yet traditional tented camp, or a contemporary and lavish experience, you will be staggered by the quality that you can experience out in the middle of the African wilderness. Fill your days with 4×4 game drives, balloon safaris, archery, mountain biking, stargazing safaris and guided bush walks.

Together with the Grumeti Fund, Singita has had a profound impact on the Serengeti ecosystem. They have tackled a variety of challenges head on, including illegal hunting, invasive alien vegetation and wildfires. Over the past few decades they have managed to help depleted wildlife numbers to improve dramatically. Thanks to these effort, many species are now thriving once more.

Singita’s commitment to the area extends also to the communities here. They work closely with the nearby villages and run programmes and projects with them that are designed to help them to flourish economically and socially.

Gaze into the star-flung skies on stargazing safaris

To go on safari in Singita Grumeti is literally living the dream. Enjoy game drives with world-class wildlife guides, have lunch atop the Sasakwa Hill overlooking the endless Serengeti plains, take a siesta on the day beds at Sabora with zebras around you, and with a press of a button, open the cinematic sliding windows in your suite at Faru Faru and wake up to your very own live wildlife show with the full surround sound experience.
