Exciting train journeys in comfort and style

There is no better, more stylish, or comfortable way to travel to the misty Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, than by train.

There are stops along the route, such as in the Sacred Valley or at Urubamba, from where you can hop on or off depending on your time and itinerary – which we can help you create and to your exact specifications. There are two locomotive options available: the oh-so romantic Hiram Bingham train or the Vistadome.

And as a way to travel between the city of Cusco, mystical Lake Titicaca and colonial Arequipa, the Belmond Andean Explorer provides luxurious overnight journeys flanked by breathtaking views in utter comfort.

    Highlights

Enjoy gourmet food and wine on your luxury train journeys in Peru

For epic overnight journeys travel across the high passes to Lake Titicaca, sleeping in your luxury cabin

Try hiking part of the inca trail. Hop off the Vistadome mid-journey for an exciting train-trekking adventure

Travelling around Peru by train feels totally indulgent. It’s hard to believe that these luxury trains are operating across some of the most remote areas in Peru, taking guests from one incredible highlight to another. After a busy day of sightseeing at Machu Picchu, enjoying an evening meal on the Hiram Bingham, heading back to Cusco is the perfect ending to an epic adventure at the incredible ancient ruins.

    When to visit

Luxury Train journeys in Peru run all year round. However, many of Peru’s highlights are best visited during the dry winter season, which runs from May to October. February is Peru’s rainy month so it’s best to avoid this if you hope to do a lot of outdoor activities in between your rail journeys.
