The best luxury Mediterranean family trips
Your expert travel designer will help you plan the perfect Mediterranean family tour, exploring the region’s sun-drenched coastline and islands at your own pace.
In Greece, cruise the islands and anchor at hidden bays in the gentle Aegean Sea to swim and snorkel. It will be possible to explore several islands, depending on your itinerary. Explore Rhodes and its medieval Old Town, inland forests and beautiful beaches, and Corfu with its lush landscapes and Venetian villages. Crete’s Samaria Gorge offers adventure for older children with exceptional hiking and canyoning. There’s also the phenomenal Cretan beaches and private sailing through the Gulf of Chania.
Then there’s Italy’s Amalfi Coast with its steep cliff coastal scenery, quaint towns and fishing villages; or Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, which is unmatched for family-friendly adventure – go ziplining through island forests, rafting on pristine rivers and descend into deep caves. Sardinia has exquisite beaches and emerald waters perfect for paddle-boarding and kayaking. And Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean, boasts volcanic landscapes, baroque architecture and sensational Italian cuisine.
The Balearic Islands east of Spain complete any luxury Mediterranean family trip. Sail from chic marinas, relax on astoundingly beautiful beaches and – with your expert mountain guide – hike rugged trails in the UNESCO World Heritage Serra de Tramuntana. All bathed in bright, beautiful Mediterranean light.

When to visit the Mediterranean
The best time to visit the Mediterranean is generally from April to October, when the region enjoys warm temperatures and long, sunny days. Coastal areas and islands are particularly appealing during this period – though popular destinations can be crowded in July and August, and you’ll find more moderate temperatures at higher elevations. If you’re drawn to cultural exploration or prefer a more relaxed pace, spring (April to June) or autumn (September to October) often prove ideal.
The climate across the Mediterranean varies considerably from east to west and coast to interior. Southern Spain and Greek islands like Crete stay pleasantly warm well into autumn, while northern Italy and coastal France can experience cooler conditions earlier in the season.
