Embark on a Swiss Alps and Italian adventure
From the breathtaking mountain landscapes of the Swiss Alps, to the laid-back, sun-soaked beaches of the Italian Riviera, a combined Switzerland and Italy tour offers you a truly memorable experience. Their close proximity makes it easy to travel between the two countries, often along astoundingly beautiful routes, like by train onboard the Bernina Express – making the journey a very much enjoyable part of the whole experience.
Exploring these two world-class destinations over the course of one adventure makes for a more varied experience without the hassle of additional long-haul travel. A combined trip like this allows you to experience the very best of alpine adventure, historic cities, and world-renowned gastronomy.
No matter what time of year you visit, the scenery in Switzerland is truly remarkable. Think meadows and valleys blanketed with bright wildflowers in spring and charming Alpine villages dotting snowy slopes in winter. Spend your summer days exploring on foot or by bicycle, and gather around a cosy fire when the cold weather closes in, for sumptuous meals and good company. There are few culinary experiences more indulgent than raclette and fondue, all rounded off with some of the world’s most coveted chocolate. Delve into the country’s culture and history in Zurich with its ornate churches, colourful buildings and contemporary galleries.
In turn, Italy is a rewarding country to explore. From the idyllic Mediterranean to ancient Rome and romantic Venice. The cities here are drenched in fascinating history and there are wonders to discover around every corner. Enjoy fresh Italian flavours at small eateries and impressive world-class restaurants alike, immerse yourself in art and culture as you explore, and step back in time as you discover how the country has been shaped by the past. Head out of the cities to slow the pace down on the stunning Amalfi Coast or follow hiking trails through the awe-inspiring Dolomites. And take time to explore picturesque towns and grand villas around Lake Como.

When to visit
The best time to visit both Switzerland and Italy is during the spring from April to early June, and during autumn from September to October. These seasons offer pleasant weather and fewer crowds. In Switzerland, springtime brings with it colourful meadows and waterfalls, while the autumn months entice with beautiful foliage and plenty of hiking opportunities.
