Along with your private guide make your way on foot or by a small train along Sendero Verde to the spectacular ‘Devil’s Throat’ which sees the largest flow of water. Next, take the catwalk over the Upper Iguazu River, crossing several islands, to a spectacular lookout point, resting on the side of the gorgeous Devil’s Throat.

This tour is a thrilling exploration of the Lower Iguazú River and Central Falls. Taking a powerful Zodiac boat, you’ll approach the Tres Mosqueteros Falls and the dramatic Devil’s Throat. These ‘up close and personal’ boat rides are the only true way to feel first-hand the immensity of this natural phenomenon. The Zodiac will get as close as possible to the foot of the main drop, allowing you to immerse in the ferocious power created by the feeding streams, culminating in the Central Falls. Be prepared to get thoroughly wet during this adrenaline packed adventure.

You’ll have some free time to walk along the paths and see the spectacular view of Iguassu Falls on the Brazilian side. It takes only 20 minutes to walk from Hotel Das Cataratas to the lookout point of the falls.

A Hidden Falls tour

Some of the most remote wilderness of Nahuel Huapi National Park can only be accessed by water. Such is the case of the still seldomly visited Tristeza Inlet and Hidden Falls trail. Exploring both in a boat and on foot, this excursion takes you into a glacially carved inlet and the lush Valdivian Forest with plenty of opportunities to watch the local fauna and the most emblematic flora of the western side of the park

Manso River rafting

Set off with your driver down Route 40 to Nahuel Huapi National Park, along the Rio Manso to reach ‘John’s Ranch’ base camp. After a safety briefing with a qualified guide, don wetsuits and start rafting. Paddle through narrow canyons and grand gorges with occasional rapids, looking out for wildlife. Disembark for a short, steep trail to the waiting support vehicle for lunch and a change of clothes before returning to Bariloche.

Days 8–10

Two nights in the glacier region of El Calafate

Spend two nights in the spectacular Glacier region of Argentina, with El Calafate as your luxury base. Travelling this far south, deep into Patagonia has a truly adventurous and exciting feel to it. Here, you’re remote and utterly immersed in nature as the stark, harsh landscapes appear to swallow up tiny cars and the dots of hikers on the craggy undulating slopes. A truly magnificent part of the world which is home to the Perito Glacier, an enormous hunk of crystalline ice and snow that crashes and splinters in deep blue waters.

A private Perito Moreno Glacier excursion

Perito Moreno glacier is the park’s most famous and imposing resident, which stretches three miles wide and 200 feet high above Lake Argentino. Explore the Los Glaciares National Park by car and hiking trails, looking out for Andean condors, buff-necked ibis, black-chested buzzard eagles, ashy-headed geese. Gaze at the mighty glacier, Lago Argentino and the imposing Andean Mountains in the background.

A Perito Moreno Glacier boat trip

Take an unforgettable cruise across Lake Rico, where giant icebergs float, dramatically carved off the face of the Perito Moreno Glacier. This one-hour trip takes you onto the lake, stopping at a safe distance from the glacier, but close enough to feel it looming over you. Continue sailing down its textured façade to view the ice in spectacular style.

Days 10–11

A final night in Buenos Aires

Return to the capital of Buenos Aires for a final night to enjoy the essence of Argentina; culture, food and music. This thriving city is the perfect place to end your trip where you can take a last walk around the beautiful boulevards, nip into a small cafe and enjoy time with your private guide on a choice of short tours that will fit perfectly with a layover here before departure.

A night of tango

Head out into the city for an evening of rapturous entertainment in one of Buenos Aires’ most famous tango show venues. The dance of tango has deep-rooted historical significance in Argentina, particularly the port areas, where low income families who gathered from all over the globe to seek employment in the 1800’s, combined Argentine Milonga, Spanish-Cuban Habanera and Uruguayan Candombe to form the distinctive tango dance. Tonight you will watch the show and enjoy a typical Argentine meal.
