    When to visit

The optimal times to visit Aswan and Abu Simbel are during the winter months, from November to February, when the weather is pleasantly mild and comfortable. This period allows you to explore the ancient sites and immerse yourself in the rich history of the region without the scorching heat of the summer months. Additionally, the Nile cruises and boat rides along the river are particularly enjoyable during this time, offering stunning views. Abu Simbel is also known for its biannual Sun Festival, which takes place on 22nd February and 22nd October. This is when the sunlight illuminates the inner sanctum of the Ramses II temple, filling the normally dark interior with golden light from the sun’s rays.
