Sitting off Cuba’s northen coast and reached by a 48km-long causeway is the Cayo Santa Maria key, one of the country’s premier beach destinations.
Part of the larger Jardines del Rey archipelago, which translates as Gardens of the King, the area is famous for its powder soft white sand and sparkling turquoise waters.
The key is 16km and 2km wide and is served by a number of beach resorts, many of which have their own private beaches.
