Food and wine tours in Portugal made for you

Enjoy delicious food and wine tours in Portugal, hand-picked for you by experts

Traditional gastronomy paired with fine wines and ports

A wine tour in Portugal wouldn’t be complete without at least a few nights in Douro Valley in the country’s north. Bisected by the westward-flowing Douro River on its journey to the Atlantic, this is the world’s oldest demarcated wine region. Here, steep stone walled terraces, called socalcos, create a dramatic viticultural landscape recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

You will also want to spend time in the atmospheric and elegant cities of Lisbon and Porto, and coastal Estoril, discovering a rich culinary culture with chef-led cookery classes and fine dining. In Porto, delve into the history of port with visits to the city’s famous port wineries, including an exclusive tasting of vintage bottles at Graham’s Winery. In Lisbon, enjoy a private food tour, exploring historic lanes and ducking into food markets and shops. As daylight fades, savour an evening of petiscos – the Portuguese cousin of Spanish tapas – and regional fine wines.

And finally, south of Lisbon is Alentejo, the breadbasket of Portugal. Inland, wheat fields shimmer in the intense sunlight, interspersed with olive groves and vineyards that thrive in the sun-drenched climate. Here, time seems to stand still.

Our expert travel designers take care of the details to ensure that your food and wine tour in Portugal is seamless – and personalised to you.
