Relax on sandy beaches, explore pristine nature and discover Balearic culture
Mallorca is a phenomenal destination for families, with a beguiling mix of picture-perfect landscapes and unique cultural heritage. There are activities to suit all ages, whether you’re hoping for an active adventure or a rejuvenating way to wrap up your family trip to Spain.
Take in the sweeping sea views of Cap de Formentor, discover the artistic and literary heritage of Deià and swim in the turquoise waters of Cala d’Or – there’s no shortage of natural beauty to be found here.
Located just a short flight from Barcelona, Mallorca boasts several beaches with soft sand and gentle waters, which are especially ideal if you’re travelling with small children. Older family members can try their hand at coasteering or kayaking through the Malgrats Islands Marine Reserve. And everyone will enjoy exploring Palma de Mallorca on foot or hiking through the scenic Serra de Tramuntana.
Our travel designers can also arrange hands-on cooking classes in which you’ll learn to prepare crowd-pleasing local favourites like coca (similar to pizza) and ensaimadas (sugary spiral-shaped pastries). They’ll help you select the best destinations, activities and family-friendly hotels in Mallorca.

Highlights
Walk across a striking sea arch and spot adorable turtles at Pont Natural d’Es Caló Blanc
Paddle through caves and natural pools on a guided kayaking tour
Browse the colourful stalls of Alcudia’s street market and taste local delicacies at the Mercat de Santa Catalina
Take a vintage tram from the pretty mountain town of Sóller to the sea
Awaken your creativity by meeting local artisans who specialise in hand-crafted guitars, textiles, ceramics and other crafts
Mallorca is one of my go-to picks for families. I love pairing a relaxed stay by the sea with gentle hikes, boat trips and long, laid-back lunches featuring local dishes like pa amb oli (bread with virgin olive oil), grilled fish and a slice of ensaïmada to finish.
