Morukuru Family offers three exquisite ‘villas’ in Madikwe: the River House, the Owner’s House and the Farmhouse. Without set schedules, you can choose precisely what you want to do and when, whether tracking wildlife on a tailored big game drive or lounging by the pool with a cocktail. The River House, the largest property, accommodates up to six adults and four children, offering a spacious and exquisitely appointed setting. The luxury Playa Cativo Eco Lodge is unique in the beauty of its secluded surroundings: accessible only by boat, it’s set on 1,000 acres of private rainforest with both the Piedras Blancas National Park – a former extension of the Corcovado National Park – and its own pristine, sandy beach on its doorstep. In the beautiful village of Deia, a longstanding muse for poets, artists and musicians, and cradled by the Tramuntana Mountains, La Residencia is one of Spain’s finest hotels. Wonderfully secluded among olive and citrus groves, close to the sea, it is the ultimate Mallorcan hideaway. 67 rooms and suites span two lovingly restored manor house from the 16th and 17th centuries, each with understated antiques, rich fabrics and paintings by local artists. All the rooms offer views out to the mountains and surroundings gardens. For the utmost privacy, there is villa with four bedrooms and its own swimming pool. When to go on a family adventure tour

The best time for family adventure travel largely depends on your destination. We generally recommend travelling during the drier, sunnier months, so you can make the most of outdoor activities. Shoulder seasons can also be ideal for family trips with smaller crowds and pleasant weather conditions.

Some places don’t have clearly defined dry and rainy seasons; others experience different weather depending on which part of the country you’re visiting. For example, most of Costa Rica has its dry season from December to April. And the Caribbean coast is usually least rainy in September and October, which are among the wettest months elsewhere.
