The Ingapirca Ruins, constructed without the use of mortar, are the central attraction of Ingapirca Town. Standing atop a hill at 3200 metres above sea level, with sweeping vistas across the surrounding countryside, these ruins are well-worth the visit.

The site itself largest consists of stone foundations, which can be coaxed to life with the assistance of one of our private guides. The main highlight, however, the famous Temple of the Sun, is still relatively well preserved as the centrepiece of the complex. Just outside there is a small museum with Incan artefacts that can provide a greater insight into the nuances of the Cañari lifestyle.
