Colca Canyon
Southern Peru is home to Colca Canyon, part of the Arequipa region with areas twice as deep as The Grand Canyon. Volcanoes make up the region's geography as well with colourful landscapes in this Andean valley. The local natives still maintain their strong culture despite the Spanish invasion centuries ago.
Colca Canyon is home to the Andean Condor and luckily they can still be seen hunting in the early morning and late afternoon. The area offers excursions like natural hot springs, hiking, Incan ruins, and visits to local villages.
