It was during my regular trips to Asia when I lived in Australia that I first discovered my love for this continent. I loved it so much that, prior to moving back to England, I spent months in Asia, spending time with family in Singapore and going on to explore the rainforests, beaches and culture of Malaysia and Thailand. This really cemented my choice to embark on a career in travel and planning tailor-made trips for others travelling to Asia.
Numerous trips back to the region have taken me trekking in the Nepalese Himalayas; exploring the national parks and culture of Sri Lanka; island-hopping around my beloved Indonesia, the diversity of which means you can visit time and time again; revisiting old favourite destinations (and discovering a few new ones) in Thailand, Indochina and most recently, Myanmar. Two of my favourite memories are a very emotional moment when I first saw the Taj Mahal in India and watching the sun rise over Mount Merepi from the top of the Borobudur temple in Java, which was a truly magical moment.
Ask me about the quirky extras. I love finding the trips that take you away from the main highlights so you can see a place in a new and exciting way.
Overall, we had an amazing adventure, with some very unique and excellent experiences. Some of the top experiences: Anantara Golden Triangle Resort and Elephant Camp - This place was amazing, the staff knew our names as soon as we walked in and always seemed excited to see us. They were fantastic with the kids and the room and overall property were excellent. Then, of course, came the elephant experiences, they far exceeded our expectations. We were up close and personal for almost 2 days. The mahouts and staff genuinely seemed happy to have us around and show off their animals. The riding experience, which included bathing with them, was unbelievable and something my whole family will remember forever. They liked to play with each other and loved all the snacking they got to do when we were around. Truly top notch. I would recommend this Anantara to anyone interested in elephants. Flight of the Gibbons (zip lining) - This was great! I've done zip lining before but I felt this was even more intense then previous experience in Costa Rico. All the runs were a little different and were great fun. My kids, who love this kind of stuff, thought it was great. Pilmalai Resort - This was an outstanding property and we had an incredible villa over looking the ocean, low on the mountain, so we had a quick 3 minute walk to the beach. We had an excellent Thai cooking class and Muy Thai training session. Having this at the end of the trip was exactly the relaxing way we needed to conclude such a fantastic trip. Markets in Bangkok - Also excellent to see how the way of life is there. Overall, we really enjoyed getting out of the cities and seeing market, temples, and overall how people in the area live Guides - All the guides were great, but I would like to give special acknowledgement to Bam, who was our guide in Chiang Mai. She was excellent, nice, flexible, knowledgable, and overall a very pleasant companion as we journeyed in the area. We really appreciated everything she did with and for us while we were there. Improvement Opportunities - While the entire trip was great, there was one thing that was a miss. Planning in Chiang Mia - The original plan for our trip was to arrive in Chiang Mai on a flight scheduled to land at 1:25 and then go zip lining. However, the zip line center was an hour drive from the airport and the last run of the day started at 2:00PM. When we arrived, Bam informed us that we would not be able to go to zip lining that day because we didn't have the time. In reality, there was no possible way to use that flight and make the zip lining event. Jacada should have known this well before the trip started. We could have taken an earlier flight on this day to make it. While we were able to make it up later, we lost a free afternoon (that would have happened on the last day in Chiang Mai). I had planned on and was looking forward to that free afternoon so we could explore Chiang Mai or just relax a little bit. Instead we packed the zip lining and Chiang Mai tour in to that one day.
I did much research before choosing Jacada Travel for our trip to Japan. Kate Herz was my contact and she was extremely helpful and a true pleasure to work with. There was a big time difference since I am in the US and she is in London but we managed to get a lot accomplished through emails and we even spoke a few time by phone. I had many things I wanted us to see on our trip and Kate made everything happen. As we got closer to our departure date, we were turned over to Wing Wong and she was just as helpful. Every detail of our trip was excellent. Our guides were fabulous, our hotels were amazing. Highly recommend Jacada Travel.
They get to know you as a person before you travel in order to ensure your trip is incredibly personalized. The Jacada staff, as well as the local tour companies/guides they contract with, are all professional and entertaining. They thought of every detail on our trip to SE Asia, and I hope to use them again and again for many vacations to come.
GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH, THEY MADE THE PLANNING OF MY HONEYMOON VERY EASY AND FLAWLESS. THE HOTELS AND ACTIVITIES THEY RECOMMENDED WERE GREAT AND FIRST CLASS IN EVERY WAY.
Jacada have helped us organise the holiday of a lifetime...firstly by listening to what we want they were able to tailor a trip to our requirements. Local people on the ground turned the skeleton trip into something really meaty...icing on cake etc etc...we ended up with a wonderful experience...that met our every expectation.
My wife and I used Jacada this summer to organize our two-week trip to South Korea and Japan. We had never previously used an agency to arrange our travel but did so both to save time and to benefit from their expertise, because we wanted assistance arranging for hotels, destinations, inter-country travel, guides, etc. We also intended to meet -- and travel with -- our daughter and her friend in Japan, after visiting Korea and needed to coordinate those arrangements as well. We worked with two of Jacada's associates -- Kate and Gloria -- and came through the experience deeply respecting their ability and professionalism. They handled all the arrangements flawlessly, consulting with us about our needs and desires and following up on all the many moving parts of our trip. The three guides they arranged for us in Seoul, Tokyo and Kyoto were terrific and their recommendations for hotels, places of interest and restaurants were impeccable. It was also very helpful having transportation at our disposal, which permitted us to see much more than we could have had we needed to always get around on our own (although we also had sufficient time by ourselves to explore Tokyo and Seoul and navigate their wonderful subway systems.) At one point we asked them to help us economize on certain aspects of our trip and they were completely accommodating. They also assisted my daughter and her friend when they wanted to surprise us with a cooking lesson in Kyoto. Although we could have done all the work ourselves and saved some money there is no doubt that as a result of using Jacada we had a far more enjoyable, stress-free and interesting vacation, seeing sites we never would have thought of on our own. They very much deserve the praise that others have given them on this site.
We just completed a 2-week vacation in South Korea and Japan that was completely planned by Kate and Gloria at Jacada. They thought of everything--from arranging interesting and unique places to visit, amazing hotel recommendations, the very special and delicious dinners, the absolutely incredible and professional guides they provided, the notes at each hotel, to the punctual and careful drivers--just fabulous! Every detail was considered. They took great care to ensure that this trip was very special. I cannot recommend their services highly enough.
Our family trip to Japan was absolutely perfect. The planning process was super easy and very well tailored. During the trip, the Jacada team was super responsive to changes and made great last minute recommendations when we wanted to change. The guides were fabulous in terms of knowledgeable and helpful but also gave us the space we wanted. It proved to be our most enjoyable family trip of many that we've done!
Excellent adventures and guides throughout our trip.
All details of the trip were thoughtfully planned, well organized, and ran smoothly throughout the trip. We had experiences that would not be possible if we had organized it ourselves.
Well thought out itinerary with attention to the little details. Just about everything went extremely well. There was a variance on the itinerary one evening due to a mix up, but they remedied the situation to our satisfaction upon our return. All in all we had a wonderful trip. Looking back I know we definitely avoided complications, hassles and disappointments by putting ourselves in their care.
We had superb service from all Jacada's team members and local agents and guides. We were delighted with our trip and would recommend them to anyone who wants a memorable experience. For example, Kate, who has travelled extensively to our destinations, listened carefully, quickly understood our wishes and needs, and designed our trip to fit us. She rapidly adapted the trip details based on our feedback and followed through to the end to make sure we were happy. Gilda and the concierge team helped us navigate the many details planning the trip and helped us make changes when we were en route. Jacada's agents and guides at our destinations were all very knowledgeable, friendly and welcomed us to the culture, history, sights and cuisine of their local area. All the travel arrangements clicked without a hitch on our trip.
My husband and I, we had a wonderful experience in Thailand, Jacada Travel customize the itinerary to our wishes. They asked us what we wanted to see, what kind of experiences we wanted and they delivered. The guides were dedicated professionals, they gave us safe drivers and good vehicles. The hotels were very nice, clean, with all kind of amenities. The food was great and safe. If you go to Thailand do not miss the elephant farm, it was the best part. Thank you Jacada we loved our trip, we have amazing pictures and videos and awesome memories.
Having used Jacada Travel twice now for major trips (one to Antarctica and the other to Bhutan, Nepal and India) I would not use any other travel agency. All of the staff is extremely professional, responsive and have planned *the* most amazing trips for me. Jacada has taken the time to determine exactly what I was looking for during my travels, my budget and my preferences for how I like to travel and came through with flying colors on all fronts. I cannot rate them highly enough.
We traveled to Cambodia and Vietnam for three weeks in October, 2017. We are an active retired couple traveling with our 86 year old uncle whose mobility is limited. Jacada had several phone interviews with us in the planning stages to learn as much as they could about what we wanted to see, where we wanted to go and our traveling styles. They definitely fulfilled our expectations for the kinds of experiences we wanted to have, and for us that meant getting out into the countryside and having contact with the rural populations. We can't say enough about the quality of the trip. The hotel accommodations were well appointed, immaculate, with friendly, gracious staff. The guides were knowledgeable and helpful, the drivers made us feel comfortable and safe in the midst of crazy traffic. The trip included two cruises, one on the Mekong River and one on HaLong Bay, both run by Heritage Lines which we would highly recommend to anyone traveling in this region. The planned activities and the pace of travel were all excellent. So my uncle could participate there were always wheelchairs provided, and rides in sidecars, rickshaws, tuktuks, and cyclos around the cities. Should we need a travel company to help with more travel we will certainly call on Jacada. They won't disappoint! Karen and Roger Hamilton Eugene, Oregon
I was sceptical at first about Jacada as we had only got their name from media and after some research. It got worse when I had to change person who was dealing with me thrice as previous ones were off on vacation so there did seem some loss of not having a personal travel agent. When we did embark on our very well pit together trip we were most pleasantly surprised. There were few if any hiccups and in the few days we had we did get a comprehensive taste of South East Asia. The guides were amazing. The only thing I would change is the street food tour in Kuala Lampur which though we were adventurous with experiences we found a bit off puttingly real. All in all I would certainly recommend Jacada and their partners in Asia. Shoba
Jacada guided us throughout Vietnam and Cambodia--and did a superb job. We had a complicated trip--many boat rides, trains, and flights and guides picking us up. Everything worked! Jacada also came up with a handful of unique experiences--a private concert and dinner, sunset boat cruises with gin and tonics, stops at tiny restaurants, and more. Did I say rides in carts pulled by oxens? A unique and lovely holiday. Thank you, Jacada!
I located Jacada Travel on a random internet search. I booked travel to Vietnam/Cambodia, on a personal trip for my wife and myself. The service was great..very knowledgeable guides ,great hotels, and they kept in contact with us during the entire trip. I would strongly recommend Jacada Travel !!!
Kate E from Jacada Tavel planned our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. She did an amazing job, we loved the entire trip. The trip was filled with many delightful surprises and special details. I will refer all my friends and family to her. I hope to have her plan many more trips for us.
Marc and I had an absolutely fabulous trip to Myanmar. We were there for almost a month. Jacana Travel had every detail worked out perfectly. We enjoyed every minute. A big thank you to Kate Edwards at Jacada for planning such a perfect trip and creating such amazing memories!
From the day I contacted them, from New York, and told them that I wanted to go back to Japan on a trip centered around Naoshima the art island, they listened to me, ask for my preferences for food, hotel etc.... I knew it would be expensive, because I chose only 5 stars hotels and the best around, but it was worth it, worth every penny. I travel alone, so I enjoy spoiling me. Their local correspondant was very efficient in changing a plan when i wanted, and i had first class guides (english speaking) and drivers. I felt like a princess. In every hotel i had a little note from Jacada, and at Benesse house (Naoshima island), they knew that i wouldn't be able to have room service, so they gifted me with wine and nibbles. I thought it was a sweet gesture. I would definitely recommend them. I lived in UK for 5 years, and I always though that the brits were the best for travel, very precise, very stylish. Thank you again Jacada team. I will see you again!
Kate helped us plan our recent trip to Borneo, Java, and Bali, and it was wonderful. Our guides were excellent - very informative and helpful. The hotels that Jacada booked were superb. The trip was everything that we expected, and some. This is the second trip we have planned with Jacada Travel. We had a very good experience working with George several years ago planning our trip to Argentina and Chile. We would definitely recommend them.
Kate and others at Jacada listened when we told them what we wanted to do in Japan. Many of the requests were unusual. Kate made sure we knew what we were asking for and then planned a trip to accomplish it. Listening is not always something travel planners do. The execution of the trip was flawless. Each guide was not only knowledgeable but went to great lengths to make sure we were doing and seeing the things we wanted. We have already planned our next trip with Jacada!
When we began talking about a trip to Southeast Asia we knew very little about the area. We had heard from several of our friends that this part of the world was well worth a visit. But where were we to start? Thank goodness I had used Jacada for a trip to Peru a few years ago so I knew I could depend on them to help plan an exciting vacation. After a couple emails and phone calls, Kate was able to put together a truly remarkable itinerary for us. I was speechless when I first saw her suggestions-how could she have so quickly identified what I wanted-I didn't even know what I wanted! From that moment until our return home, Jacada was remarkable. The tours, guides, drivers and accommodations were perfect. Everyone was where they promised, all the tours and guides wonderful and the hotels just as described. I just can't think of any single thing I would have changed-and all this was built specifically for us in a matter of days. Our thanks to Kate and Alec and all those in the background who worked so diligently to give a the trip of a lifetime.
It was an excellent trip. Java and Bali are beautiful. I have given Jacada Travel a 5-star rating but must add that it wasn't quite as good as my African Safari. The personnel (at Jacada) are very helpful and did a great job setting up the trip. Thank you again. PS: I have recommended them to friends and business associates and plan to use them again.
Jacada Travel planned an incredible trip to Thailand for my two teenage kids and I. We wanted a mix of city, wildlife and nature, and a beach with a spa. Kate tailored our trip to our exact wishes and it was an experience my kids and I will not soon forget. The local guides Jacada uses are amazing and the Thai people are wonderful. There was someone to meet us at every stop and answer all of our questions. We had plenty of time to shop on our own in addition to the great activities we experienced in every city that Jacada planned based on our interests. Jacada is the epitome of personalized travel service and we are already planning our next adventure with Jacada. Thank you Jacada Travel!
Jacada Travel designed a 2 week trip to Thailand and Japan for us. They took care of every detail including luxury accommodations, English speaking tour guides, transfers, and even dinner reservations. The trip was perfectly done and we did Not have to do a thing except enjoy! We definitely plan to use them again and we would not hesitate to recommend their services!
Jacada handled all of our in-country travel for a recent trip to Vietnam, from hotels to guides. The people at Jacada listened well to our desires and then organized a wonderful tour that exceeded our expectations in every way. A great company to work with and our personal contact, Kate, was excellent.
Our trip to Vietnam was beyond any of our expectations. Accommodations were all exceptional, the guides were excellent, and the people behind the scenes did so much to make our trip over the top.
Two weeks in Japan - our second trip with Jacada. Great advice on where to go, what to do, where to stay. Lots of ideas and experiences we just wouldn't have found on our own. Terrific organisation and logistics on the ground. Really outstanding service and can't wait for our next trip!
I've traveled to Ecuador and Myanmar with Jacada Travel and let's just say you can count me in as a repeat Jacada Traveler. Everything was planned out in detail for us, custom tailored to our needs and interests, so that we didn't have to worry or think much other than to just relax and sight-see during our trips. The transition from one city to another was seamless, with local tour guides handing us off to the next tour guide and making sure we checked in at each airport smoothly. I won't spoil all the wonderful things we received during our travels with Jacada, but just know that traveling with them exceeded our expectations.
Because I was planning a wedding, I decided I needed help planning the perfect honeymoon in Indonesia. It was *the best* decision to work with Kate Edwards and the Jacada team. They helped me find locations that would have been difficult to find, given that I had never been to Indonesia. Once we were there, decisions were all made and we felt gently guided and cared for the entire time. In addition, there were many small touches that couldn't have been experienced if we were going alone. Flowers on beds, kind notes, gifts, etc. It was magic.
My husband and I found Jacada online when we were looking for honeymoon ideas. The different travel options look AMAZING, so I left an inquiry and received a call back from Kate. Our initial plan was to go to Thailand, and Kate helped put together a wonderful trip. When the election riots began, however, we decided to play it safe and choose another country. Kate gave us some great advice, and we ended up putting together a package for Indonesia. She was so patient with all of the changes we made, and it turned out to be a fantastic honeymoon. Jacada makes everything so easy, from being picked up at airports and hotels with a private driver and guide, to putting together the itinerary with everything you want to do, to notes checking at each of your stops. Everything is seamless and easy. I will say, however, even if you are adventurous like I am, there is room for that as well! Kate planned some rafting, elephant riding, and hiking for us as well. Whatever you are into, you will be able to find it stress-free with Jacada.
Jacada made sure that every aspect of our stay was taken are of to the highest level. Their planning enabled us to feel calm, safe, and welcome our entire trip. Their service start from our step out of the secured area of the airport and continued until trip concluded, again at the airport. The guides provided to us were able to answer and questions related to our trip and/or the country. The flexibility allowed while planning continued during the trip which allowed us to enjoy every moment. I highly recommend Jacada Travel to anyone going abroad.
Just returned from an incredible holiday in Myanmar thanks to Jacada Travel and Kate Edwards in particular. This was my second experience working with Jacada. After a wonderful holiday in Argentina in 2013, I reached back out Jacada to plan a holiday in SE Asia. I hadn't originally thought about Myanmar as a destination but after a few conversations with Kate and feedback from her own holiday there last spring, I was convinced to book travel there. I am so glad that I did. Myanmar is in one word an amazing place. The scenery, the sights, the food, and most of all the people make Myanmar a special place that much of the world has yet to see. From my arrival in Mandalay to my departure nearly three weeks later from Yangon, every detail of my was planned and executed perfectly by Kate and Jacada. Some of the most memorable aspects of my Myanmar holiday: 1. Trekking and home stay in the northern Shan state: Three days and two nights trekking with a local guide through the mountains and villages of the northern Shan state. Spent both nights in a local home. An amazing and unique opportunity to see the true Myanmar. 2. Candle light market in Hsipaw: Experienced an open air market lit only by candle light. Every day from 3:30am to sunrise, locals sell fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish. 3. The temples of Mandalay: Saw several of the most incredible Buddhist sites in all of Myanmar located in and around the city of Mandalay. Capped my stay by watching the sun set over the U Thein bridge. 4. Bagan: Everything about Bagan is magical. Over 2000 stupa and pagodas from the 11th to 13th century dot the countryside - all accessible by foot, horse carriage, and bicycle. Viewed another incredible sunset from the top of the Shwesandaw Pagoda. 4. Trekking from Kalaw to Inle Lake: Picturesque trek from the mountains of Kalaw down to beautiful Inle Lake. Spent a night in a Buddhist monastery. 5. Inle Lake: Wonderful Villa Inle Lake Resort, beautiful sunsets, magical fishing villages, and the amazing Shwe Indein pagoda complex make a stay on Inle Lake incredible. 6. Ngapali Beach: Relaxing, beautiful, quiet, and uncrowded are the best ways to describe Ngapali Beach. Enjoyed the white sand beach and the warm water of the Bay of Bengal. 7. Yangon: No trip to Myanmar is truly complete without a visit to Shwedagon Pagoda - the most important and famous Buddhist site in all of Myanmar.
Jacada is fantastic -- luxury, personalized service. Jacada exceeded our expectations every step of the way -- planning phase, during the trip, and post-mortem. I would recommend this company to anyone. Our family spent 18 days in Vietnam (Con Dao, Hoi An, Saigon) for Christmas in 2014. We took our children (8 year old, 12 year old). Since we had never been there, I spent lots of time researching the country (history, culture, activities, adventure, etc). I found Jacada on the web after becoming frustrated with all of the planning and I spoke to Kate, the Southeast Asia expert. Kate arranged everything and then some. Flights, hotels, daily adventures, restaurant recommendations, etc. She prepared a beautiful online multimedia itinerary (for us to share with other family and friends), had goodies (wine, kids' chonkies, etc) sent to our rooms, and made sure every detail was taken care of. She was also super responsive, knowledgeable and very helpful. Jacada made us feel like VIPs during the trip. Our favorite venues/activities organized by location (for those who go included): 1. Con Dao. Six Senses. Off the chart relaxation at boutique hotel. Gorgeous beaches, prison tour, moped ride around island, Vietnamese cooking class. (Weather wasn't as favorable for scuba/snorkeling at that time because of storm in nearby Philippines.) 2. Hoi An. Alma Courtyard. Lantern making, full day biking tour and working with the local farmers on their rice paddies and vegetable gardens, street food tour, daily massages included in boutique hotel price. 3. Saigon. Park Hyatt (although I'd start to look for another newer hotel that's less run down...maybe Le Meridien when it opens in 2015). Side car tour, Cu Chi tunnels and Mekong River tour. No doubt we will work with Jacada again in 2015...maybe Botswana/Namibia? :-)
We felt educated and well taken care of. Guides were knowledgeable and kind. Changes happened and everyone worked hard to accommodate us.
This is my second trip planned by Jacada. Both trips have been fantastic- wonderful adventures with superb lodging, excellent guides and a mixture of off the beat adventure . I found my travel planner Kate available at all times and she was a wealth of information. She was able to contour our trip to suit us perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend Jacada to anyone looking for a seamless trip which combines adventure, luxury and attention to detail.
With less than a month's lead time, I decided to spend a week in Vietnam in early February. I found Jacada via a Google search, read the reviews, and decided to give them a try. Best travel decision I've ever made. Kate Edwards described a variety of destinations and activities based on her first-hand experience, and together we tailored the perfect itinerary for me. All accommodations were excellent, and on-the-ground guides were knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Best of all, I got to do exactly what I wanted, not what someone else planned for me. The end result was a trip filled with memories that will last a lifetime. Could not be more grateful to Kate, Alec, and the rest of the team at Jacada.
From planning through execution, Jacada did an excellent job on my adventure trip to Thailand,Laos and Cambodia. They even introduced me to a Mekong River cruise which was like icing on the cake. I would use Jacada again for sure.
Loved Myanmar--if we would change the trip we would leave out certain areas and stay longer in other areas.Myanmar is a fascinating country and there is much to see and do. Our favorite places were Lake Inle, Bagan and of course the lake area. We only had one full day in Mandalay and could have stayed at least one more day. Whenever we arrived at a new hotel there was a note from Kate which was very sweet.
It was a jam packed and complex trip but everything when very smoothly. All the guides were very knowledgeable and professional.
We booked at the very last minute a 3 weeks family vacation in Vietnam. We did not have the time to prepare the trip so we decided to go with a travel agency. It was our first experience with that kind of trip but we surely will do it again! We traveled with two kids (7 and 12) from Canada and we wanted everything to go smoothly. With the help of Kate and Alec, everything went without a glitch. All the Hotels were to our taste and the planned activities pleased us all. We traveled from the north, Hanoi to Ha Long Bay then to Hue, Hoi An, Saigon and then Nha Trang for a week a the beach. The beach resort was amazing, secluded, reminding us of a vietnamese fishing village but with 5 stars accommodation. Jacada offered a personalized and highly professional service from the first e-mail contact to the welcome back home phone call. We could have booked with a canadian travel agency but Jacada website attracted us and we dont regret it at all... We are thinking of a safari in south Africa and Jacada surely will be part of our plan! Thanks again
Must see places are Hoi An and Halong Bay in Vietnam, Luang Prabang in Laos. The crowds around Angkor Wat at sunrise are a pain
Jacada planned and executed our vacation to Myanmar and Thailand with brilliance and perfection. We were so happy with Kate, our planner, and Alec our concierge. Myanmar is a tricky country to navigate, and their plans, guides, agendas, and hotels were all perfect. Arrangements were flawless. We can't wait to use Jacada again!
Until this recent trip to South East Asia we have always travelled 100% independently, but even by our standards, this was a pretty complicated journey to four countries in just under 4 weeks, involving almost every conceivable form of transportation. More than that, it was to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary, so we decided the stakes and expense were too high for us to go it alone. Kate, Alec and the team at Jacada and their partners at Trails of Indochina, who provided our superb guides- Phi in Vietnam, Sarom in Cambodia and Johnny in Laos and organised all the logistics on the ground, made it seamless and stress free and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
Jacada created a amazing first class experience for our family to visit Japan. I highly recommend this trip and Jacada to all. My wife and I and our two teenage girls spent 3 nights in Tokyo, 1 in Hakone and 4 nights in Kyoto. The hotels were first class and the one night at a traditional Japanese inn in Hakone was a wonderful touch. The private tour guides were amazing everyday and made for a smooth transition to a new cultural experience. Each day was planned out exceptionally well for us to maximize the places we could see. Importantly the guides were flexible enough that we could optimize our adventures on the fly to see everything we wanted. The guides had amazing knowledge, pointed us to truly fantastic food and culture and taught us so much. Jacada's planning was impeccable from the moment we were picked up at the airport to when we left. The combination of big city (Tokyo, Osaka), country near Mt. Fuji (Hakone) and historical (Kyoto, Nara) was a perfect mix. Thank you again for an amazing adventure and one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken.
The trip was wonderful, with excellent service and accommodations.
Our trip was to Vietnam and Cambodia. The choices of hotels were also excellent, the best available in the locations. We enjoyed the activities, which were varied and adapted to our age and preference even the first morning tai-chi lesson at six. The guides were knowledgable, easy going and always prompt on time. Drivers and vehicles both of high quality. Their choice of travel by boat or Van was great as road or traffic conditions were chosen to be most convenient for us. They organized surprise lunches in the middle of the jungle, complete with table linnens, porcelain dinnerware and real glasses. Another time people came out of the jungle with glasses filled with champagne to welcome from a boat trip. Traveling with two aging couples, we had a wonderful time.
We just returned from a 7 country, 40 day trip to South Asia. The trip was fabulous and Jacada's Kate Edwards and Alec had a great deal to do with the trip's success. We had a broad outline itinerary of what we were looking for. Travel to Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos , Vietnam, Cambodia and Bali. We wanted to emphasize the rural locations and minimize our time in the big cities - Bangkok, Hanoi and Saigon. We wanted to stay in luxury boutique hotels wherever possible. And, we wanted to do all this in 40 days. Putting together a trip like this was a logistical challenge and I quickly knew that I needed help. No problem for Jacada. Kate took my outline and produced a detailed outline with a price within days.Kate advised us how best to avoid the Chinese New Year and the rainy seasons across the large geography that we should cover. Once we had locked in the lodging, flights and dates for each location, we worked out activities that our guides would follow. This was detailed while at the same time flexible. We traveled as a couple and our guides were often arranged by our boutique hotels that specialized in flexibility and creativity. Kate and Alec monitored everything. So that was our itinerary, our plan. But the test is in the execution, the experience. The results were outstanding, close to miraculous! We had 20 flight legs go without a hitch. Not a detail missed. And we changed the activities on our itinerary several times. Done easily with a short email to Kate and Alec. Additionally, Kate had recommendations for things to do, places to stay and restaurants to dine at many of the locations. Each of these many suggestions was a memorable addition to our adventure. Of course we loved the welcoming letters from Kate waiting in our room wet we arrived. The bottles of wine or champagne were wonderful, too. The suggested dining spots, we will remember for the rest of our lives. We had a spectacular journey. I found Jacada on the internet and maybe that is part of their magic. They are certainly technologically capable and sophisticated in handling the details. Yes, I do recommend Jacada, Kate and Alec unhesitantly and yes, we are discussing our next trip to South America with Jacada.
We have recently returned from Vietnam and Cambodia. Before booking with Jacada, I had never heard of them but was impressed with their approach and first hand experiences. We entrusted Kate and Alec with the itinerary, choice of hotels and excursions and could not have been more impressed. Their agents in the area, About Asia, similarly, could not have done more to ensure that we had an excellent holiday. I would recommend them unreservedly.
