Hotel Unique

Luxury stay with a stunning rooftop pool and bar
Hotel Unique has a high design theme as audacious as its name. A cut off disc, with a rooftop restaurant and bar on the top and port-hole style circular windows give this luxury hotel in Sao Paulo the impression of a stylised boat.
As far as boutique hotels in Sao Paulo go, this one definitely has ‘wow’ factor. Every detail is designed to impress, and the sleek, modern rooms are impressively kitted out with all manner of high-tech gadgetry. The rooms are concentrated towards the top of the hotel, meaning you’ll have superb views out across the city.
Additionally, the rooftop Skye bar, with its 360 degree views, offers one of the best vantage points in Sao Paulo to appreciate the megatropolis skyline. It’s the perfect spot to sip on a signature caipirinha and enjoy a pizza or sushi platter as the sun goes down. Alternatively, the indoor bar, The Wall, features an eye-catching 60 feet tall wall of bottles and has an adjacent library.
The hotel has one rooftop pool where you can catch the rays, as well as an indoor-outdoor pool in the basement complete with waterslide. Beyond the hotel, the Museu de Arte Sao Paulo and Ibirapuera Park are both within walking distance, and the rest of the city is easy to explore.

Places to combine Hotel Unique with

Trancoso
Run by Wilbur Das, creative director of the Diesel fashion label, Uxua exudes a great character and attention to detail, all with a rustic theme that merges effortlessly with the local setting. Accommodation is set in a number of private ‘Casas’ each with a unique style and character and ranging from one to three bedrooms; one is even a tree house. As a stunning centre-piece to the accommodation is the pool, lined with 40,000 turquoise aventurine quartz stones (native to Bahia) that are a testament to the careful and painstaking care taken to create a hotel that is at once unique but with roots in the location it is based.
The hotel is located on the ‘Quadrado’ or village square of Trancoso and has a spa with an extensive range of treatments. The restaurant serves delicious cuisine made with fruits and spices grown in the hotel’s own gardens. Many of the ‘Casas’ have their own full kitchen and local chefs can be brought in to give you a lesson in local cuisine. The Casas themselves are large and equipped with all the amenities one would expect in a luxury accommodation, some include jacuzzis and private plunge pools.
