Iceland is brimming with dramatic contrasts. Here glacial lagoons meet bubbling geysers and jagged peaks are juxtaposed with vast lava fields. This geographic diversity, combined with a culture that prioritises physical and mental well-being, makes it a truly incredible destination for an authentic wellness journey that’s closely tied to nature.

Iceland’s thermal pools are perhaps the main attraction, scattered across the country and powered by geothermal heat. Their healing properties have been recognised in local culture for centuries.

There’s a handful of luxury wellness spas across Iceland that transform this natural phenomenon into an exquisite experience of cleansing, relaxation and renewal. The most famous is The Retreat at Blue Lagoon, which complements its eponymous body of water with an underground spa and sleek design.

For an even closer connection with nature, soak in the Reykjadalur hot springs’ thermal river or in the Hvammsvík hot springs. The location, set right next to the ocean for a convenient (and optional) cold plunge.

You can complement your Iceland spa experience with different activites. Scenic hiking trails through volcanic landscapes, yoga and meditation amid silent wilderness and delicious cuisine built around local ingredients and traditions.

Speak with us to start planning a wellness trip to Iceland that strikes the perfect balance between gorgeous scenery, energising activities, peaceful reflection and phenomenal hotels.

    When to visit Iceland

Any time of year is a good choice for an Iceland wellness tour, as each month brings different weather conditions and seasonal activities. You can enjoy the Blue Lagoon and other geothermal pools all year round. In winter (November–April) the contrast between warm water and cold air is especially invigorating, and Iceland’s best wellness hotels become even more cosy.

Summer (June–August) offers milder temperatures that allow you to complement spa time with outdoor adventures and longer days thanks to the midnight sun. The shoulder months of May, September and October are ideal if you want to avoid larger crowds at the most popular thermal pools and other attractions.
