A luxury Morocco honeymoon featuring the most romantic destinations

Tangier is the major port city in northern Morocco on the Strait of Gibraltar, known as the ‘door of Africa’. Beyond the city, the golden dunes of the Moroccan Sahara and the crashing Atlantic waves of coastal Essaouira hint at the romantic destinations that lie ahead on your Morocco adventure.

Marrakesh has some of the most stunning honeymoon hotels in Morocco. Stay in traditional boutique riads with private plunge pools, or palatial resorts featuring low-lit hammams. Wake up early for a hot air balloon at sunrise, then meet with your guide to discover the city’s historic medina with its souks and artisan workshops. With a local chef you can take a culinary tour of Jemaa el-Fnaa or visit nearby vineyards to taste red and rosé wines.

From Marrakesh, travel with your driver to Essaouira, with its laid-back beaches and boutiques; or venture to the lush valleys and terraced hillsides of the High Atlas Mountains. Climb winding hiking trails and you’ll see the cedar and juniper forests giving way to bare rock and phenomenal vistas.

Your honeymoon trip to Morocco might include exploring Fes with a private guide to walk through its labyrinth of alleys or enjoying a meal at Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca. Spend an evening stargazing in the desert after a journey through the oasis town of Skoura, dotted with palm groves and sand-coloured kasbahs. End your day in a luxury tented camp deep in the remote dunes.

To start planning your honeymoon trip to Morocco, speak with our expert travel designers. They will share their insider tips and personal insights, gleaned through their own travels in Morocco, to curate you your own romantic trip for two.

    When to visit Morocco

The best time to visit Morocco is spring (late March to early June) or autumn (September to early November), when temperatures range from 23°C (73°F) to 32°C (90°F), with minimal rainfall – it’s a good time to visit cities like Marrakesh and Fes for comfortable sightseeing conditions without summer’s intense heat.

Summer (June to August) brings extremely hot weather across the country, particularly challenging in the Moroccan Sahara and Skoura, whilst winter (November to March) is generally mild but can turn chilly in northern areas around Tangier and the High Atlas Mountains, where snow is possible (and some hotels close).
