A dhow sailing off the coast of Oman

By catamaran or speedboat, with meals on board, you will sail along the picturesque coast to the fishing village of Sur, keep an eye out for turtles or dolphins as you cruise along. There you pay a worthwhile visit to the dhow museum, and continue your chauffeur-guide towards the Wahiba Desert.

Days 3–5

Days in the desert

Wahiba Sands invites you to drink in the stark beauty of an ever-shifting desert landscape. This region covers some 12,500 square kilometres and is rippled with golden orange dunes, some reaching up to 100 metres tall. There are no established roads here, just tracks leading to desert camps, and trails formed by the Bedouin people who call the desert home.

Spend a few days at one of these camps, soaking up the phenomenal beauty of the seemingly infinite desert. By day, you’ll go on dune bashing adventures, and by night, the remoteness of your location rewards you with breathtaking stargazing.
