The Tambopata Research Center is one of the most remote jungle lodge in the Amazon, with 24 comfortable rooms and suites for both guests and researchers that open out onto the surrounding rainforest, allowing you to enjoy this diverse ecosystem even during downtime, with wildlife often visible from the lodge.
In the main lodge building you’ll find a lobby bar, a massage room and communal dining room where buffet meals combine international, Peruvian and local cuisine are served.
With no other humans nearby sightings of monkeys, birds and other large species such as jaguar and herds of peccaries regularly spotted on a varied menu of hikes led by biologist guides. One of the highlights is the nearby claylick which attracts macaws, as is exploring a range of habitats from swamps to elevated walkways through the forest. Researches at the centre may also be on hand to tell you about their work.
