Possibly rivalling the city with its intimate charm, this hotel is a collection of six, unique historic colonial mansions converted into 37 individually-decorated rooms, all for a wonderfully distinctive stay.

Each of the mansions reflect a mix of 16th and 18th century Spanish architecture : vaulted ceilings, undulating stone arches, fountain and flower-filled courtyards and traditional wood furnishings. There is the Casa Principal (Andanza restaurant), Casa Fuente, Casa Caballo, Casa Limon and Casa Palma (pool and library), and Casa Parque (Cooking School and Laja SPA). As said before, there are no two rooms alike and each is adorned by the likes of period furnishings and stunning art and antiques, in superb fabrics and richly colored Talavera-tiled bathrooms. What’s more your stay feels very private given the grouping of rooms in the separate houses.

The hotel’s Sazon cooking school is an absolute delight, and fantastic if you want to pick up a culinary souvenir or two. Dine on some excellent gourmet Mexican food at the Andanza restaurant or try some different types of tequila or mezcales at the adjoining Blue Bar. There is often live music being played in its inner courtyard too.
