Lake Manyara, Tanzania
Manyara Green Camp

A luxury tented lodge with child-friendly adventures and immersive safaris
Manyara Green Camp is a Wayo Africa tented safari camp deep within Lake Manyara National Park, tracing the Rift Valley escarpment between Arusha and the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. This biodiverse region encompasses savannah, floodplains, evergreen forest and the rocky escarpment, providing habitat for large herds of elephants and rare tree-climbing lions.
Its eight spacious, tented suites are decorated in warm neutral shades, with layered textures and furniture crafted by local artisans. Private decks and floor-to-ceiling windows open up to elevated views over the densely forested rift, while the gauze roofs can be retracted for stargazing.
Most activities can be tailored to suit ages eight and above, including guided nature walks through the forest, tracing wildlife tracks by Lake Manyara and exploring pools near Endabash River and Waterfall. Head out on private game drives and walking safaris to look for blue monkeys, giraffes and buffalos, scouring acacia and kigelia (or sausage) trees for lounging lions. End adventure-filled days with open-air meals and sundowners overlooking the waterfall, scanning the riverbed for wandering elephants.

Places to combine Manyara Green Camp with

Arusha
Ideally situated on the outskirts of Arusha, this lodge is a brilliant spot to stay either before, or after your safari in Tanzania. Hidden on the grounds of one of Tanzania’s largest coffee farms, with wonderful views of the Tanzanian countryside and away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Arusha. The cottages offer you a homely space to either relax after a long international flight, or to flick through your photos before you head home again. In the main lodge you can enjoy the warmth of open log fires while sipping a well-earned gin and tonic or spend time in the gardens breathing in the smells of the coffee bushes around you.
The farm itself can be explored on a two hour guided walk which gives a superb insight into the methods of coffee farming and ends with an excellent brew of the local beans. You have the chance to venture into Arusha if the need takes you, but otherwise you can just make the most of the large grounds. If the midday heat gets a bit much, they also have a refreshing outdoor pool with shaded sun loungers among the manicured gardens and patios.
