    The Garden Route, South Africa

    Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa

    A World-Class Coastal Resort

Pezula conjures up everything and more you would expect from a first-class resort hotel; a large private estate, championship golf course, extensive grounds, secluded rooms and a tremendous variety of both on and off-site activities.

Located almost equidistant between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, this 83-suite hotel and private castle residence occupies a really lovely spot on the Garden Route coast sandwiched by the cliffs of the Southern Cape, the Sinclair Nature Reserve and the Eastern Head of Knysna, offering up fantastic panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, Knysna Lagoon and the Outeniqua Mountains from every room they have.

The contemporary décor is a modern use of earthy tones mixed with splashes of vivid colour and all the rooms boast wonderful vistas from private balconies and a high standard of amenities and facilities.

Another feature of note is its award winning Zachary gourmet restaurant whose fantastic food is complimented by an even better wine list. There is a spoiling range of sporting facilities and adventure excursions from canoeing, abseiling and trout fishing.

On the nearby Noetzie beach (voted one of South Africa’s Top Three Beaches), is the accolade-toting Private Castle Residence. This is the ultimate in South African beach stays in terms of luxury, location and service. With direct access to the beach, pool and five spacious suites, there will be a private butler and chef on hand to personalise every step of your stay.

You will be both spoilt for choice and by the staff here at Pezula.

Places to combine Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa with

    Encounter by Ongava

    Etosha National Park

    Encounter by Ongava

Encounter by Ongava is an intimate safari camp set within Ongava Game Reserve, on the southern edge of Etosha National Park. You’ll be surrounded by Mopane woodland and wildlife moving freely through the landscape.

There are eight spacious walk-in tents: seven standard tents and one paired tent that works well for families or small groups. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with an outdoor shower and a private deck.

You can head out on game drives across the 30,000-hectare Ongava Game Reserve. The area is known for its rhino population, as well as lion, zebra and antelope, including the endemic black-faced impala. We especially recommend private guided nature walks, where you can slow down, appreciate the small details and explore with minimal impact. There may be the chance to approach white rhino on foot, as well as spend time bird watching.

For a wider safari experience, take a guided excursion into nearby Etosha National Park, Namibia’s prime savannah wilderness area. At the Ongava Visitor Centre, learn about the region’s geology, wildlife, plants and ecology.

Back at camp, slow down by the pool, settle into the library or gather at the bar as evening falls. The day softens into drinks, quiet conversation and the sounds of the reserve.
