When to visit Africa
The best time to visit Africa depends on what you’d like to do during your trip.
For safari, the best time to go to Africa is usually during the dry season. During this time, the drier climate means less greenery, making the animals more visible as they gather around the remaining water sources. In most southern African countries, including Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe, the best months for safaris tend to be from May to October.
For beaches, we recommend visiting the Seychelles from April to May and September to November as the weather is hot, dry and sunny during this time, and the water is great for snorkelling. For Zanzibar, the dry season runs from June to October.
For Cape Town and the Winelands, we recommend visiting between November and April, as these are the warmer months. April also marks the autumn grape harvest in the Winelands.
