Okavango Delta, Botswana
Shinde Footsteps

Set beside a permanent lagoon in the Shinde Private Concession
Shinde Footsteps sits on the northern edge of the Okavango Delta in the Shinde Private Concession. This is an exclusive wildlife area limited only to guests staying at the Shinde camps.
The camp welcomes a maximum of just six guests at any one time. And there are four canvas tents in total, including a family tent with two comfortable bedrooms. The tents are set on raised decks above the landscape. The main area includes a dining tent and lounge looking out over a permanent pool, where herds of hippos come to wallow and cool off.
A standout feature of the camp is its emphasis on walking, with the name Shinde Footsteps chosen to specifically highlight this focus. Led by expertly trained guides, these walking safaris offer a peaceful and intimate way to connect with the Delta’s environment on a deeper level.
One of the main highlights is the chance to combine land and water based safari experiences. Depending on water levels, these can include mokoro (a dugout canoe) excursions, game drives and night drives, with the chance to spot elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, red lechwe, wild dogs and sitatunga. Spend your evenings around the fire with your feet in the Kalahari sand, enjoying meals cooked over a wood fire in the open air.
The camp is also ideal for exclusive use. This is perfect for small groups and families to enjoy the entire space, just for yourselves. Families are especially well catered for through the Young Explorers Programme with a specialist family guide leading activities tailored to children of different ages.
