Tucked away in this very sleepy town in the Yucatan, this charming colonial mansion is still home to a working perfumery and houses just one suite, a spa, cafe, courtyard, gardens and plunge pool.
A simply delightful place to stop off for a night or two to explore the region’s Mayan ruins, or to simply relax at this rustic residence, the one room is elegant yet simple with a freestanding roll top bath, exposed beams and sparse decoration. It comes with a private terrace and you have exclusive use of the plunge pool in the courtyard.
The hotel’s utterly charming Cafe de los Frailes serves wonderful pastries and coffees, and for more significant meals the Coqui Coqui chef will prepare these for you in the courtyard or cafe.
During your stay you can stroll around the elegant perfumery and lab downstairs, where you can mix your own fragrance if you like or purchase some local handcrafts. You must indulge in a massage, body scrub or beauty treatment at the on-site spa too.
