    Fasano Rio

    Ipanema beachfront hotel

    Irresistibly chic and internationally renowned

With a stunning infinity edge pool looking out over Ipanema beach, the Dois Irmãos Mountains and the Corcovado, Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro is one of Rio‘s most stylish hotels. Designed by Phillipe Starck, this Ipanema beachfront hotel offers you an air of understated cool and luxury. Its architecture and interior design pay homage to the spirit of Brazilian design of the 1950’s and 1960’s, as well as the Bossa Nova era.

There are 89 accommodations divided into five categories, all of which are immaculately decorated with a combination of period pieces, original artwork and chic-modern style. In the Deluxe sea view category, each room has a private balcony with views out to sea and king size beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and goose down pillows. For that extra touch of luxury and pampering, there is also butler service.

Savour exquisite classic Italian cuisine at Gero Rio where the menu offers you a selection of risottos, pastas, meat and fish dishes. The space was designed by architect Miguel Pinto Guimarães with a bold and modern aesthetic with red brick walls, copper tones and wooden furniture, and a charming balcony, for open-air dining. Head up to the Pool Bar on the eighth floor where you can enjoy light meals and fresh fruit juices and cocktails coupled with breathtaking panoramic views over Ipanema Beach. Finally, Fasano Caffè is part indoor salon and part outdoor dining experience, which offers you a diverse breakfast buffet and a selection of à la carte options.

If you’re in the mood to hit the surf, there are surfboards available for guests, as well as the opportunity to sign up for surf lessons, bicycle rentals, beach volleyball classes and work together with a personal trainer.

    Hotel Das Cataratas

    Iguassu Falls

    Hotel Das Cataratas

Nestled within Brazil’s Iguassu National Park, a sprawling 185,000-hectare forest reserve home to the majestic jaguar, lies Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. Walking out of the lobby you can immediately hear the thunder of the falls, enveloped by lush tropical rainforest. Your stay here supports vital environmental preservation efforts, with over 9 million reais donated by the hotel to the park. In homage to the ‘Jaguars of Iguassu’ project, indulge in the hotel’s signature drink, a vibrant blend of organic cachaça, tangerine, sugar and passion fruit, playfully echoing the jaguar’s iconic spots.

Begin each day surrounded by the sights and sounds of a tropical haven. Here, the soothing Portuguese-inspired design lends each room and suite a timeless elegance. You’ll find yourself luxuriating amid bright, handcrafted textiles and local artworks. With high ceilings and hard wood furniture, the junior suites are welcoming and comfortable, while the pool suites serve as a personal oasis, and the Cataratas suites boast breathtaking views from panoramic balconies.

Discover more about the indigenous Guarani culture as you study the fascinating nights skies with expert astronomer Janer Vilaça, and allow yourself to experience a deeper connection with the universe. There are also full moon tours to witness the lunar rainbow, a sight not seen by many. When it comes to witnessing the might of the falls themselves, a speed boat ride is not to be missed. Your journey starts with a Jeep ride through the forest before boarding your boat downriver. The views of The Three Musketeers and Devil’s Throat are truly memorable.

After a day of exploring the falls, find a spot to relax with a drink in the large pool area. Then settle in at Restaurant Y where ingredients and techniques from across Brazil are combined to created contemporary dishes inspired by the park.
