    Lords of the Manor Hotel

Elegant country house retreat in the heart of the Cotswolds
Lords of the Manor Hotel in the Cotswolds

A Jacobean manor framed by eight acres of award-winning gardens

Tucked away in the tranquil village of Upper Slaughter, Lords of the Manor Hotel offers a quintessential Cotswolds stay surrounded by rolling hills. The hotel’s idyllic setting feels worlds away, yet conveniently places you within easy reach of beautiful villages such as Bourton-on–the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Step inside and discover a Jacobean manor dating back to 1649, thoughtfully converted into a luxury country house hotel. From the entrance hall, traditional features reflect the historic character of the property, including grand stone fireplaces, intricately carved wood panelling, windows that flood the interiors with natural light and decorative plaster ceilings. Most of the individually decorated rooms offer views of the landscaped gardens or the village.

Dining is an exceptional experience at Lords of the Manor. The acclaimed Atrium restaurant, with just 14 covers, presents a seasonal tasting menu paired expertly with wine under the meticulous guidance of the talented Head Chef. Menus highlight locally sourced and estate-grown ingredients, reflecting the hotel’s strong commitment to sustainability. Guests can learn more about this ethos by joining the Behind the Scene garden tour. The famous walk between Upper and Lower Slaughter — often regarded as the most beautiful short walk in the Cotswolds — begins just beyond its doorstep, where you can start exploring the region’s most celebrated scenery.

    English Lake District

    Brimstone Hotel

Langdale is one of the most beautiful and dramatic valleys in the Lake District and the Brimstone Hotel offers tranquil luxury nestled in the heart of this spectacular national park.

Drawing on the style of a traditional ski chalet, the collection of 16 suites and rooms are constructed of blue-grey Lakeland stone with muted tones, wood finishes and plush carpet interiors. Each room has been perfectly designed for comfort with blazing fireplaces, enormous spa bathrooms and private balconies that open out to breathtaking Lakeland views.

The estate is in perfect keeping with its surroundings and has a remote lodge feel to it, particularly in the cosy reading lounge where complimentary drinks and snacks are on offer throughout the day, including a tasty cheeseboard at 8pm.  The estate’s spa treatments are enough to lure you away for several hours of bliss with sensory therapies inspired by the natural surroundings.

Dine at The Stove, a 200-cover fine dining restaurant with wooden tables cut from Langdale estate’s own trees. The restaurant specialises in grilled and smoked meats and fish, with an emphasis on local produce and flawless cooking. The Wainwright’s Inn is a short walk up the road and serves hearty meals and local drinks.

Brimstone is perfectly located to discover some of the finest landscape and scenery in the soon to be UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Lake District, with the Langdale valley home to rocky outcrops, babbling streams and some of the best views in the whole region.
