At a glance
From the end of November to early May the migrating herds of Wildebeest and Zebras choose to graze on the lush grasses of the southern Serengeti plains; a peaceful environment for their calving season and a vivid, miraculous, and thrilling yet slower safari for the spectator.
Begin with a night in the serene outskirts of Arusha after your flight, before being flown by light aircraft into the heart of the southern Serengeti to begin five days on an exclusive safari. Spend two nights at one camp or lodge of your choice before a further three nights at another in a differing area of the south Serengeti so you get a comprehensive experience of both the migratory and resident game, plus a wider choice of specialist activities.
These short grasses and flat open plains give you wonderful wildlife viewing, vibrant colours from the flora, and dramatic landscapes and skies to photograph too.

Overview
Immerse yourself in the unbelievable beauty of the African wilderness at Nyasi Camp. Tucked away in the cool shade of acacia trees you’re invited to unwind and drink in all the rich landscape has to offer. Herds of wildebeest make the iconic Great Migration travelling a never-ending circuit from the southern Serengeti in Tanzania towards the Mara River, and back again. Nyasi Camp is perfectly situated in the Serengeti and moves with the migration so you never miss any action.
Operating as a seasonal camp across two locations within the Serengeti, Nyasi consists of eight en-suite tents and a family tent. Inside the tents you’ll find natural linens and textures inspired by the earthy colours and characteristics of your surroundings. Inspired by the peace of the Serengeti, the interiors have been designed to help you feel connected to nature and the ever-moving migration. Enjoy socialising and relaxing in the shared lounge and take your meals within private settings for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also the option to take one side of the camp for yourselves – perfect for groups or families.
Head out with your expert guide for game viewing on a private open vehicle to discover the mighty migration and the multitude of other wildlife that wander these savannahs. Safaris for children can also be arranged. If you stay in the south you can enjoy nighttime safaris, walking safaris and authentic cultural experiences. For those who stay in the north you can adventure on hot air balloon safaris, at an extra charge.

Overview
One of the best camps for viewing the migration as it ventures south of the Serengeti National Park, Kusini Camp offers you views from up high as it hides among a cluster of kopjes overlooking a game rich plain below.
The 12 tents are discreetly scattered around the main kopje and each have their own private veranda with comfortable day loungers where you could happily retreat to and spend hours simply enjoying the wilderness that spreads out in front of you. With a subtle classic decor, the tents are all very spacious and shaded beneath acacia trees providing a nice little sanctuary after you experience some amazing game. The main dining and lounge area has marvellous views and makes for a great sundowner experience.
The setting is hard to match. Between January and March, this camp has pride of place and gives you the chance to see the baby zebra and wildebeest arrive. After November has brought the short rains, the landscape almost instantly springs to life with shoots of green grass and as nature would have it, excellent grazing for the youngsters as they struggle to keep up with the herds that are constantly on the move.
Sanctuary Kusini also happens to be in an area that is ideal leopard territory and sightings are accordingly excellent. Moru Kopjes is nearby to the lodge which is a popular spot for prides of lion who can gaze down over the plains with their sharp eyes scanning the horizon.
