At Jacada we know our way around luxury hotels, and all of us have our favourites around the globe.
But lately we got to thinking about some of the more unique places we love to send our travellers. Whether it’s sleeping under the stars, seeing the northern lights or just staying somewhere out of the ordinary, these hotels will definitely give you something to write home about.

1. Elephant Star Bed, Abu, Botswana

Abu Camp in the stunning Okavango Delta is situated in the vast 180,000-hectare Abu Private Reserve.

Here the elephants are the well-deserving stars of the show. To experience the full magic of Abu, guests have the opportunity to spend the night at the Elephant Star Bed. Sleep in luxury under the starry sky and listen to the sounds of the herd nearby.

2. Skylodge Adventure Suites, Sacred Valley, Peru

Breathtaking Sacred Valley, located to the north of Cusco, is home to some amazing views no matter where you stay. But if you dare to climb up to the Skylodge Adventure Suites that cling to the valley walls you’ll be treated to an even more impressive vista. Be warned though, you might need a head for heights for this one.

3. Ngala Treehouse, Kruger, South Africa

Think treehouses are just for kids? Think again. Luxurious Ngala Treehouse is a game changer, and comes with all of the luxuries any discerning adult could want. It’s split over four levels, with the option to sleep ‘indoors’ or to stretch out under the stars on the rooftop deck (bed included!).

4. Levin Iglut Igloos, Finnish Lapland

Something a little chillier for winter adventurers. These glass igloos let you relax and experience the wonder of Finnish Lapland in luxury cosy comfort. The views across the frozen wonderland are always worth the stay, and if you’re particularly lucky you might even see the northern lights from the warmth of your bed.

5. Lion Sands Treehouses, Sabi Sands, South Africa

There’s just something about treehouses. The Lion Sands treehouses give you a fresh perspective over the bush, and combine a childlike sense of adventure with the best in luxury camp stays.

The Kingston Treehouse even has a drawbridge. Yes please.

6. Airstream Deluxe Campers, Uyuni Salt Flats, Bolivia

It doesn’t get much more exclusive than your own travelling hotel. Iconic Airstream campers, fitted to a high standard, are hitched to a 4×4 allowing you to travel the Uyuni Salt Flats in style, and ‘camp’ under one of the most beautiful skies you’ll ever see. In addition to your driver and guide, a second camper will travel with you, functioning as your own private restaurant and bar.
