Inside the volcano tour was something not to be missed. It is expensive but well worth it. You do have to be able to hike 2 miles to the volcano entrance. You are able to go at your own pace however. There are no finished roads to access that area This is definitely a vacation for people that are very mobile.
Hiking boots and a very good windbreaker/rain coat is essential!
Forewarning, The wind in Iceland is pretty substantial! There is definitely a need for many layers to keep you warm.
Our guide/driver for the week, Sven, made sure everything ran smoothly and was very flexible with our schedule. Everyone in the family agreed that he is the one that made the trip special!
If it all possible, I would highly recommend getting an Icelandic guide to really learn about every aspect of Iceland!
The boys family favorite was the ATV in South Iceland. It was fun but an extremely bumpy ride. What made it special was the different terrain in that area. You’re ride on the black sand beach with a glacier and mountains in the background. You go through streams and into hidden alcoves.

You were given suits and helmets to wear so you were warm.

Jacada planned a 9 trip to Greece for our party of 6. They did a wonderful job attending to every detail- the hotels were all exceptional , the guides were knowledgeable, entertaining and engaging. The transportation vehicles were always clean and the drivers provided with fresh cold bottles of water available when needed ( as the temperatures remained in the high 90 range - this was a very nice gesture) The tours and excursions were meticulously planned and executed with much thought going into what are interests were and exceeding all expectations. We booked a 12-day custom trip to Peru with Jacada and they did a fantastic job! We were a party of three and got to ride around Peru in comfortable minivans with skilled drivers and very knowledgeable guides. Everybody was always on time and took care of all our needs and answered all our questions. Our special dietary requirements were also always considered. Their knowledge of how to best travel in various areas was especially valuable. For example, they booked two visits to Machu Picchu for us. The first one was an afternoon visit with our guide and the weather ended up being fantastic. The second one was on our own the next morning when it was cloudy and raining, so we got to experience the site in a different atmosphere. Had that been our only visit, however, it would have been disappointing because the visibility was bad. Similarly, we were interested in seeing the Rainbow Mountain but they advised us to visit the Palcoyo instead, which is just as beautiful, not as crowded and not as punishing to hike at that high altitude. So I highly recommend Jacada and I would travel with them again!

The trip was really good, I would have liked a little more guidance on what to do. Also we were told some wrong information (we could go shoeless for white water rafting) and had to wear normal shoes which was a pain to carry and wash afterwards. Also our last place was right near an airport, but they had us drive 3 hours to a farther one and we got there 4 hours early.
We had high expectations and honestly we were shocked by how perfectly this holiday was organised in the most minute detail by Jacada. Absolutely amazing and of course we will use you guys again! Thank you

This is the second time I have used Jacada Travel to organise a family holiday for us, once to Costa Rica and once to Borneo. Both times the customer service and advice have been excellent. We worked with travel advisors on what we wanted out of the trip and both times the iternary, accomodation, guides and in country support and travel were excellent. Jacada Travel was very easy to work with before our trip to mainland Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. They helped us pick destinations that exactly matched our interests and abilities (my 81 year old mother was traveling with us and while she is still very active, there are some things that she just shouldn't try to do anymore). Because everything was so well-prepared for us there was no need to contact them at all during our time in Ecuador. Their local representatives (from Jacada, their partner company Metropolitan Touring, and Haugan Cruises) were always ready for us when we arrived with all details in place. Our local guides and naturalists were all amazing and friendly. I will definitely work with them again the next time I am planning a trip with my family.

My family and I just came back from an incredible time in Peru's Sacred Valley and Lake Titicaca. Everything was spotless, from the beginning to the end. It was our first time working with Jacada. We can't see ourselves working with any other travel agency in the future.
I tried Jacada quite out of the blue, having found them online because my regular travel agent did not cover Switzerland. As with many global travel companies, the services do not come cheap, but I found the value added well worthwhile. Some of the experiences that were included in my itinerary truly made for unforgettable moments during the trip.

We used Jacada to help our family plan our trip to Africa. After learning more of our interests, Jacada put together a truly excellent itinerary that took into account all of our "asks." This included a variety of private safaris and tours to explore South Africa to its fullest - with incredible,first rate accommodations. They took care of each detail with pick-ups, guides and connections so we truly had zero worries and could just enjoy the experience. At the end of our wonderful journey, we all agreed, it was the best travel experience we ever had! Em and Angela from Jacada were available, responsive and helpful throughout the journey. I have to say that every detail was taken care of by Jacada on our trip to South Africa. Before writing this, I took some time to read the 1 star ratings to see what types of complaints were out there. We experienced none of that! Em Hunter and her crew had everything in ship shape for us. We usually do our own planning, so I know what goes into planning a sucsessful trip. I also know what can go wrong no matter how well you prepare. All in all, Jacada has the resources and acumen to give you a trip you won’t forget! We will certainly be using them again for our next big family adventure.

My husband, 8 year old son and I, were planning a trip. My husband, being the trip planner and always planning amazing vacations, got in touch with Jacob, from Jacada Travel, to plan our trip to Peru. From day 1, contacting Jacob until the days after our arrival, it has been exceptional. Jacob was very attentive, caring and involved to figure out our wants and needs, for our family adventure. It was perfect! From Miami to Lima, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, treasure hunt in Cuzco, organized by Jacada, amazing hotels, meals, surprises on the way... Every touch and detail was perfect! It was our first time with our son on an adventure trip, as opposed to a resort, and he loved it!!! The guide, Edgar, local, was knowledgeable, caring and exposed us to great experiences. Jacada also had a mountain biking your organized, with a car following is in case we needed anything. The hotels were AMAZING. We met great people and we're able to experience Peru in a special way. She developed a personal relationship with my wife and I, taking the time to get to know us and making the trip specific for what we were looking for. Everything was done so first class. Excursions and transfers were all privately done. Most enjoyable vacation we have ever been on. Would recommend the Jacada experience to anyone.
I want to give a 4.5 Star but the system does not allow that. The trip overall was very good, despite the initial contact with Jacada was not smooth and reply not always timely. The briefing for the weather was not very details, i.e. I know exactly what to pack now. Both Lima and Machu Picchu was cold without sun. The guides were professional and caring. Marisol (?) knows her food, Elissa was very kind and knowledgeable, Juilo was very passionate about showing his country and the heritage and he also helped my husband all the way, a good person. Tattiana (the petit lady) at Iguazu Falls was fabulous. She tried her utmost to show and explain to us everything about that munificent fall, wouldn't let us miss anything great. Marcelo was fun to be with. All the drivers were good.
The hotels were first class and service was outstanding, we were allowed to check out at 4:00 pm in two hotels as our departures were late and very thoughtful.
Food was a nice surprise both in Peru and Brazil - a new culinary destination.

in the winter, it is very safe to take a later flight (we took the 6:00 flight) from Cusco to Iguassu via Lima with not issues. Perhaps you would consider that.
Jacada's local agents were great, never failed to meet us on time and very reassuring.
With regards to itinerary, it may be better not to make Juilo went up with us to Machu Picchu for a day only instead, hire a guide up there for the whole time. We paid $100 for a local guide for almost a day, he gave us good alterative suggestion to walk up the Sun Gate as if we want to track Machu Picchu we had to start early as they close the mountain at 1:00 noon. .
BTW, Hiram Bingham train will take an airline carry on luggage, I will send you pictures. I was cold as I cant put my heavier jacket inside the overnight bag specified by your instruction.

Em Hunter, an African travel expert at Jacada Travel, put together such an incredible four country itinerary thru Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa for my family as well as a bonus rendezvous with our friends at the andbeyond Ngala Lodge at Kruger National Park that we are already looking forward to planning our next trip with her. While on safari at Seba Camp in the Okavango Delta, we watched as a pack of wild dogs separated a cape buffalo calf from the herd and have their way with it before returning to their den to regurgitate a meal for the eager pups. Leaving the dogs, we stumbled across a male lion attempting to take down a honey badger with no success. The morning ended with my son and I watching another male lion along with his brother feed on a freshly killed adult cape buffalo atop a rise overlooking a water hole. The entire experience is one we will not soon forget, especially the magnitude of the stars in the night sky, the rhino walk in Zambi, the sundowners on the Zambezi River and the white lion cubs at Ngala Lodge. Jacada did an amazing job creating the perfect Safari experience. Every location and every person we encountered were wonderful. I can't say enough good things about Jacada and Jonathon "Jonny" Humphries. As we planned our trip to Africa, Jonny was a fantastic listener, and incorporated our wishes into a fantastic vacation. He was knowledgeable and offered an assortment of choices and considerations. He was also very responsive. On those rare instances when he was not available, his co worker, Andrea Thomas was equally a joy to work with. They worked seamlessly together.

We had an amazing time on our Jacada trip. I love how everything was tailored to our needs, each transport was handled, we had an assistant or a guide or someone everywhere we went, and we even had a backup if we needed to call someone with an issue. Jacada also checked up on us in each new city to see how the trip was going. The trip itself was wonderful and couldn’t have been better planned unless I had more time for vacation!
The people at Jacada actually listen to you during the planning process as opposed to others that throw a formula based plan at you. Our trip to Peru was unforgettable - the planning by Jen and Omar ensures that altitude issues were minimized and every where we went there were little surprises and upgrades. Rebecca Cook did an exceptional job of arranging our "Safarimoon" in Africa - Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Seychelles. With the help of Jacada we were able to experience a spectacular stress-free family vacation to Croatia. Our trip designer thoughtfully planned out our itinerary so that we had the perfect balance of adventure and site seeing. We hiked waterfalls, went white water rafting and enjoyed tours of Diocletian’s place, Dubrovnik’s fortress, and Hvar.

I found Jacada travel services while surfing the internet for a company to assist our group of 10 with a trip to hit the major sites in Peru. They did not disappoint! Our trip was amazing. There wasn’t a single detail that Jacada and their country affiliate did not attend to. We stayed in beautiful hotels with impeccable service. We had airport assistance, drivers and guides. Our guides were very knowledgeable. We had a guide in Lima for a half day historical tour who was excellent. I apologize I can’t recall he name. Our guide Freddie was with us for most of the rest of the trip to the Sacred Valley ,Machu Picchu and Cusco. He was wonderful guiding us through Inca history, culture and customs. We all learned so much. He gave us tips to assist us acclimate to the altitude so no one needed medication. He had an intimate understanding of the people of Peru. We enjoyed some meals on our own. Those provided through Jacada were absolutely delicious! There was no room for improvement in any part of our trip. We thank Jan, Romanet and Omar from Jacada and all the persons who helped make this trip memorable. We plan on looking into using Jacada in the future!
Our trip to Africa was one of the best vacations that we’ve been on! Everything was well planned and it was an experience of a lifetime.
Jacada Travel helped us plan a trip to Mendoza, AR. They made some great suggestions about activities there.
