On the valley side a short way out of Zermatt, the Hotel Coeur des Alpes is a stylish glass-sided chalet with a warm welcome and wonderful service.

In winter, Belalp is a lesser know but wonderful ski area, while in the summer the majestic Aletsch glacier is close by and the lodge is a starting point for hikes to faraway peaks or to the a cheese making farm.

Both modern and traditional French cuisine are prepared in the kitchens while the brasserie on the terrace provides breath-taking views once you sit down for your meal. During the winter, the exclusive Crans-Montana ski resort is the main draw while in the summer saddle up for gorgeous horse riding trails or tackle the physical side by embarking on canyoning and climbing expeditions.

Both heated outdoor or indoor pools are wonderful places to soak, and personal trainers are available to ensure you get the most out of your sessions in the fitness centre before a massage and steam in the sauna.
