Way up high in the green foothills of the Swiss Alps above the village of Belalp, Hamilton Lodge and Spa sits surrounded by grand mountain ranges and lush meadows. Inspired by the stories of Heidi, an iconic character in Swiss literature, this cosy retreat which is gorgeous beneath summer sunshine or a blanket of winter snow.

The main lodge has 19 unique rooms, ranging from snug two to four people bedrooms to family rooms with connecting door that can sleep up to six.

Designed as a welcoming log cabin, the restaurant is made from stone and wood. The menu is made up of both local and international cuisine, making use of organic products and striving to always make healthy offerings to its guests.

The spa is equipped with Finnish sauna and bio sauna, using herbs from the alpine meadow. A plunge bath, hot tub and whirlpool are situated outdoors – in winter in snow, in summer amidst the alpine flowers.

In winter, Belalp is a lesser know but wonderful ski area, while in the summer the majestic Aletsch glacier is close by and the lodge is a starting point for hikes to faraway peaks or to the a cheese making farm.

The unmistakably Swiss Mont Cervin Palace is a Zermatt landmark, a place of quaint charm and warm hospitality.

There are just eight suites and seven rooms, each with a private terrace and spectacular alpine views. The apartment has three double bedrooms making it ideal for groups and families.

The gastronomic options are equally of world-class quality, boasting 16 Gault and Millau points. Both modern and traditional French cuisine are prepared in the kitchens while the brasserie on the terrace provides breath-taking views once you sit down for your meal. You can savour local and international vintages as well as take part in tastings in their wine cellar and lastly, LeCigarLounge provides a sophisticated environment with its fine collection of exquisite cigars.

During the winter, the exclusive Crans-Montana ski resort is the main draw while in the summer saddle up for gorgeous horse riding trails or tackle the physical side by embarking on canyoning and climbing expeditions.

Both heated outdoor or indoor pools are wonderful places to soak, and personal trainers are available to ensure you get the most out of your sessions in the fitness centre before a massage and steam in the sauna.

Hotel Monte Rose is found in the centre of picturesque Zermatt. There are 41 rooms, with or without a balcony, with a view of the Matterhorn or over Zermatt and its mountain landscape, romantic or modern – but always comfortable and welcoming.

Edward’s Bar Café, named in honour of the first mountaineer to climb the Matterhorn, is ideal for food, a cocktail to set the mood for a night out in town or a nightcap. The hotel participates in Zermatt’s Dine Around concept, meaning that half-board guests can dine in a different local restaurant every evening.
